      @joedapro115 I don't watch NJPW so I never get to see his matches. I only get to know him after hearing Cody is running a new wrestling promotion and signs Kenny up. And yeah I heard his match with Jericho was pretty great though.

      Yeah, but it is a bad idea to give wrestlers too much control of their character. That was a big reason why WCW eventually failed.

      @@jefflarson3693 WCW's issue was letting wrestlers decided when they would lose. Hulk and Nash were notorious for changing the ends of matches. You can give wrestlers more freedom on their characters, without giving them the power to decide outcomes of matches.

      To be fair, it has to be earned that creative control. Sure guys Like Heath Slater, Titus o Niel, Baron Corbin and Apollo crews can't alter.
      But Seth, New Day, Enzo and Cass, Cena can. Cause they earned that right.
      Kenny even said in the video. At this point in his career, he most likely would have Creative Sway

      Yeah, but car crash wrestling isn't storytelling either. WWE's stories may not be what they used to be, but at least they maintain that wrestling equals storytelling, not dives and flips, especially in-ring storytelling.

      Yes, I kind of expected that - since that was a different type of show on network television. It seem more "formal" and he has to be "politically correct" on his answers. If it was on some youtube wrestling podcast, he would have the same answer but be much more direct. By the way, I have been supporting AEW and buying all their PPVs since it started - and it is great to see this young company have success in the face of the haters who said that they would fail.

    He's one of the most complete talents I've ever seen in wrestling - naturally athletic, great physique, engaging personality and also a precise and articulate speaker, you can tell he's highly intelligent and I suspect he'll long continue to be a big hitter in Pro Wrestling, whether it's in the ring or later as a promoter, he'll go on doing do big things.

      They’ve been holding on to that American smark audience because they’re the #1 with the weekly TV. If they have a new promotion pulling away those fans they’ll need to step it up and integrating better matches or utilizing the indie talent they have to keep those people watching.       It's not a huge assumption to think that the entertaining RUclips show with wrestlers who can put on great matches will lead to a good wrestling promotion, since the wrestlers are running it. And adding in all in 's success makes it even more likely that it will be a good wrestling promotion.

Match quality is great, production is slowly improving but itll get there, storylines are fantastic, great characters, the mens division is pretty stacked. Only con is the womens division honestly

      @LJ54 Yeah, not everyone can be in the main event, but they also don't have to be treated like garbage or subjected to retarded storylines. Look at NXT, a show ran by Triple H, an actual wrestler with experience in storytelling, and backed up by writers that know how wrestling should work, who let wrestlers develop their own characters.
      Velveteen Dream is one of the hottest NXT stars right now, and he's lost a LOT of matches and only just very recently got his first title. No one was bitching about the way the Dream was treated because he was treated with respect. He would lose a match, but not once did you think "Wow they made The Dream look like garbage out there."

      @@DreadPages He would probably get paid pretty well in the WWE. AJ Styles is making 7-figures in the WWE, but that's up to Omega if he ever wants to join that company. Everyone knows that the WWE wants him and possibly needs him to really bump up the ratings, but Omega doesn't need the WWE. Time will tell if he wants to re-sign with AEW, try out WWE, or hang it up.

      Ummm, WWE has, by far, the most grueling schedule of all wrestling companies. Most "indy" wrestlers (any company outside of WWE) work an average of 100 matches a year. WWE wrestlers work, at least double that. That's not what I would call "relaxing".

The point was that WWE is like pre-retirement, which is not given that the promotion has the most grueling schedule of all wrestling companies. The only thing untrue about gfear's comment was that WWE wrestlers work at least double that, which is false. Close to double? Sure. But maybe this year they will work double given that some wrestlers are working more than one brand.

      It may not make for a great interview when the interviewers aren't that familiar with it but this is about visibility and trying to reach different audiences who may not know who Kenny is or be interested in wrestling.

      But he’s good enough with English that he can easily carry a conversation with another person without too much trouble.

      he's 35, and will most likely stay with AEW for the rest of his prime. He's in his prime right now and the most popular he's ever been which is the only way he would have any kind of say in how they use him, there is never gonna be a better time in his career to go to wwe than right now and he chose not too. I really doubt he will go there.

    I love that Kenny Omega is on weekly television now. Can’t wait to see where AEW is in a few years, I know I’ll be a life long fan. Can’t wait to see him win the world title from Moxley, or MJF. I really can’t wait for the videogame.

    The reality is their are people who are the qoute unquote wwe guys and some are not. That's not a dig on Kenny omega at all I think his comfortable with the arena he's in. Most guys who come to wwe want the big time lights and show and even than sometimes it doesn't click

      Rusty Jacobs Honestly I just seen it as he doesn’t wanna be apart of the norm anymore, the last ten years it’s just been about guys that work their asses off in the indys, then hope to be signed eventually to WWE, but the way Kenny was able to transform that view on wrestling through his series of matches with Okada, naito, etc just show not everyone needs WWE to do great things that’s appreciated everywhere. The last 2-3 years he’s ripped most the attention off of WWE & it certainly has helped with how much the company is just ruining the overall joy in wrestling. The opportunity The Elite has right now with AEW is to build up what can be another mega American wrestling company if done right, and to continue changing that norm.
