The lineup was the reason they lost back in 2020 when they won the title AD played the 4 and lebron played point and they had a center like Dwight Howard and McGee to help stop Jokic but every coach since then refused to let AD go back to the 4 lakers were better when they had a real center next to AD and lebron to help grab more offensive rebounds more rebounds mean more chances to score and lakers were first in offensive rebounds the year they won

Let’s not get it twisted, this isn’t all on Ham, but the fans who don’t JUST watch primetime games, but watch EVERY game from start to finish from October to season end knows Ham had to go. Very questionable decisions for 2 seasons. This years starting lineup change is a perfect example. Took him more than half the year to realize having respectable shooters in the lineup instead of duds would help. And that only happened because Cam and Vando got hurt forcing his hands.

All the advance stats were screaming that rui should get more minutes and by the time he made the change the team was nearly at the bottom of west standings. That stretch of starting prince and cam killed this team. There’s no way this team should’ve be in the play in with Lebron and Ad playing the amount of games they played AND performing.

I Like Bron but I'm getting tired of him. He's always trading good pieces away and getting coaches fired. Bron thinks he knows it all but it doesn't matter who they bring in next as the Lakers aren't good enough. Darvin Ham wasn't getting outcoached in that Denver series. They were all close games and simply Bron and AD failed to close while Jamal Murray did. People can say his rotations questionable but yet players can't be healthy and the team just isn't good outside Bron and AD. The Lakers are let Lebron hijack that franchise. Prob the real reason Magic left because he can't deal with Lebron.

Darvin ham wasn’t getting out coached ? How do u lead for 75% of a series and win one game out of 5 ? How does ur coaching just go non existent in each 3rd quarter ? Yet u sit here and somehow find a way to blame bron

    • @GFitness214
      @GFitness214 17 дней назад +2

Game 2. Lebron missed a open 3 and Jamal Murray hit the game winner. Game 5. AD and Bron told the coach to challenge that foul call on AD on Jokic which lakers won the challenge but lost the time out when Ham was trying to save his timeout for Later on in the game. AD then reverted back to his old self when he got hurt when Gordan bumped into him so now it’s all on Bron to show up now. Then Bron failed to Box out Gordon a crucial play to help Denver out. Then when you need your star player to close Lebron giving the ball to Austin Reeves when the last few minutes shoulda been Bron taking them shots. Murray closed that game out to send the Lakers home. Bron and AD closed game 4 that’s it. It’s easy to blame the coach but when it’s clutch time and your star players can’t close that’s on the players but the coach is the scapegoat yet again. People favorite excuse for Lebron is that he’s 39 but if age is a factor then he should retire.

Poor coach Ham, he is just another of the "scapegoats" for every Lakers loss, same with coach Vogel, once you become a Lakers coach, expect that:
"When team losses, It's always the Coach and other's fault, BUT everytime team wins Some "very self-absorbed untouchable" always takes ALL Credit."
*The first word that comes from the coaches mouth is DIVA, ...you cannot coach them, you cannot hold them accountable* 🔥 - Perkins.
Very well said Perk, but I wonder if it's an indirect hit to someone, because We observant basketball fans know Ham is not the reason why Laker's got eliminated, but some un-coachable self entitled DIVA who is WITHOUT CHARACTER who is STILL playing in the NBA.
Instead of firing Ham, why not have a team check and not just blame the coach and players but also held some "untouchable" accountable? There's an individual which I will not name, but everyone knows this hard core narcissist who happens to also be:
    1. Chronic flopper.
    2. Chronic whiner and complainer (jumps up and down like a kid when not getting the calls he wanted)
    3. Blames others for every failure. (even the officials that favor him, are blamed)
    4. Takes all credit for success, but shuns accountability when loosing ("It's just basketball, right?")
    5. Takes PED's. (Balco in particular) - but are not getting checked. He's untouchable.
    6. Locker room cancer.
    7. Scared to play defense. (using his full energy only in offense, let teammates do the "dirty work" (i.e defense")
    8. Stat padder. (shooting even at garbage time for the sake of chasing the "scoring" records).
    9. Has the ball 97% of the time and demands "plays" revolve around him, thus killing sound ball movement and efficiency.
    10. Guilty of un-sportsmanship (always exiting to the dugout, without shaking hands when getting blown out).
    11. Chokes and collapse mentally on pressure packed situation, can't handle adversity.
    12. Acts as GM and coach, decides on who to fire, decides on who's on the roster, and if It does not work out - Blame and fire them All, except me (the acting GM). or else I leave the team if you don't give what I demand!
    13. Had some narcissistic or megalomania tendencies, always referring to himself as King and self proclaiming himself as "the GOAT", "the Chosen1" and "the best player in the world" on numerous occasions.
And many other not so pleasant acts, attitudes and proclivities. Characteristics that many just blindly dismissed for the sake of narratives just to protect this "untouchable", who is the REAL cause of the Lakers downfall, removing toxicity and drama is the key to Lakers success.
(hope this honest to goodness commentary shows up.) Cheers.

Anyone saying Ham shouldn't be blamed, for what happened hasn't been playing close attention to the Xs and Os in this series. The team was good enough to have large leads in every game of the Denver series, they got outcoached by Mike Malone. Those leads were lost because Ham let them by not calling timeouts, by not making adjustments at crucial moments to stave off the Denver run. Yes players have to play, and D'lo and others had trash games, but even in those trash games, they had a chance to win but didn't because Ham wouldn't make adjustments.

But his X’s and O’s gameplan got them to the WCF and had them back in the Playoffs again where they had bad luck in playing the champs again and even still they played every game close.
He may put the players on the floor but he’s not responsible for putting the roster together and at some point you have to look at the person who is in charge of that. Especially considering they have had chances to improve the roster with better talent but have not moved on it like when Lebron wanted them to trade for Kyrie or when they made no moves at the deadline to improve. Lebron has never shown any interest in being coached under an experienced coach. And blaming roster construction? Darvin Ham wasnt the only problem but he was a big part of the problem. He doesn't make adjustments when other teams go on runs, he doesn't use timeouts to break momentum, it took him 75% of the season to go back to the lineup that was successfully last season & challenges must not exist because he doesn't use them! This roster has been injured the majority of the season if Vando their best wing defender plays in this series and they probably would win it despite coach tag along!

We just want a coach who doesn’t allow a team to go on a 1000 - 0 run and don’t call a timeout

Nobody brought up how LeBron missed a wide-open 3 at the end of game 2. That would’ve changed the whole series.
And two years is not enough time to give Ham. They gave a good starting 5 returning next year. They’d be a lot better next year.
