- Downtown is the city’s lively urban core, full of modern skyscrapers. It’s known for The Forks, an old rail yard turned riverfront park, where The Forks Market sells artisan handicrafts, craft beer, and global cuisine like empanadas and roti. The Burton Cummings Theatre stages music and dance, and Bell MTS Place hosts hockey games and concerts. Gay nightclubs, sports bars, and casual pubs cluster east of Main Street.
The crime rate is alarmingly high in this city. This would be the biggest disadvantage of Winnipeg. It is unfortunate since this city has an interesting history and cultural life. The economy in Winnipeg is strong and stable, with a thriving real estate market, making it an affordable city to live in. The culture. Winnipeg is a mosaic of many cultures - this is reflected by the festivals and art shows held annually. ... There is also Folklorama, a celebration of diversity and culture.
Canada has a long tradition of welcoming immigrants, and Manitoba is no exception. ... People from around the world establish permanent residency in Manitoba, and so can you. The easiest way to immigrate to Manitoba is through the Canada Express Entry immigration system.
If you could just move the loud music and let the natural sound of walking, it will be perfect
Very beautiful video thanks for sharing
So interesting. Good video quality.
Love it. Been there a couple of times. Awesome video.
Great video job Kanchana!
Nice and keep up the good work
Awesome!
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I used to live in Portage Avenue, and it reminds me of life in Canada a lot. Winnipeg is beautiful with Snow
Nice to see it
watching from Nairobi, Kenya
Don’t come
Would you please share what time of the year and day this video was shot? And what the weather felt like while recording
This video was shot in Sept 2021 last night and the weather was great at day time but was little cold at night.
What month of the year do Winnipeg start experience cold ?
Usually doesn't get really cold till mid November
Dare ya to walk it at night. Especially Main and Logan.
Wow! That city is remarkably clean compared to the trash grilled streets and alleys here in Chicagoland!
It's nice to see A place where people have enough pride in their home to put their trash in a can, rather than simply let it drop on the ground, expecting someone else will pick it up, like we do down here in the U.S.A.
He didnt show you the north end of town.
What are you talking about? Chicago is super clean for a city that size. It's actually very clean in the main downtown business district. You're watching the equivalent here. This isn't the outskirts, this is the main downtown core. Chicago is beautiful compared to this bland grey concrete jungle.
Winnipeg isn’t very clean in most places
Go walking down by Union Station. Trash blowing EVERYWHERE! The air here smells just like a trash can on a hot summer day! 🤮@@ML-ov7wo
i lived at the hotel right next to the video right next to you!
Nice video. But i think music in background not really matching with urban life...
what kind of camera did you have?
I used iPhone 12 Pro Max camera to shoot this video.
nice music dude!
My affirmed destination
Didn"t someone get killed at the hotel on Main street long ago
perfect
Hi can you make tour around University of Winnipeg, Buhler centre. It will be highly appreciated. Thank you
Does Winnipeg have a subway system?
yes they do
There is no subway just public transit
@@supermessedup ummm what?
@@zachcano7871 lol um no we dont
public transit is the only option really, except if you have a car, but it's beautiful there, go visit it sometime!
I hate the downtown especially when you see native ppl coming to you while they are drunk wanting money 😬😑
I hate it too, 😕
@@dils4301 night and day they are drunk always
@@dils4301 nah don’t it’s expensive there and cold
Which is why I havent walked in the downtown area in the last 20yrs
They can be very dangerous, especially when drunk, which is often.
Winnipeg is only nice, only on summer ☀️
It's sad, I grew up in Winnipeg in the 60's- 80's and there used to be people on the streets of downtown back in the 70's until they buillt that bondoogle of a mall Portage Place. Plus white flight and economics have turned downtown into a ghost town.
Why are the streets so empty ? Any people there 🤔🤷🏻
I believe this is a weekend. It is usually empty during weekends.
My best guess is because it's not a walkable city. Everyone drives
Not many people walk downtown as they used to. To many bums asking you for money or drugs
Comments make no sense, people have to work, and play,it's like Twilight Zone?
Downtown of Winnipeg is the most beautiful downtown of whole of North America.
Trust me this Video just shows the nice side of Portage at Main. If u just go around the corner a little bit up north on Main it shows a hole different pic.
This is beautiful to you😅. It’s clean that’s about it…hardly any tall buildings.
@@CupOfJoe365 so you mean in order to be beautiful it requires tall buildings?
How's the crime rate?
high. it has a high native population and it's quite secluded. In canada, that always means high crime rates.
@@ML-ov7wo colombus
Very little people walking on streets because of cold weather?
That's because to many people are afraid to walk downtown.
@@dontfeelsorryforyou Why?
responding to @@Elle_fitzs, it's not that scary at all, just ignore the bad stuff, then you got a pretty good time here at portage avenue!
@@Elle_fitzsit’s dangerous in downtown Winnipeg
Im from Germany and yes, the streets look clean and tidy. But compared to German cities, it's a cold, dehumanized satellite city just to drive through, nobody stays here voluntarily because it's extremely uncomfortable and has no charm at all. It is sad to see that the architects have only paid attention to the flow of money and not to the well-being of the residents. In Germany, it reminds me of the banking district in Frankfurt am Main, where it is just as concrete-like and ugly, only robots in the future will feel comfortable there.
Should have stopped at Bleachers for a drink lol
wa-bak = pandemic or epidemic
Manitoba = Manito waba
If you you did not add this ugly background music it would be a good video
love this music
this video is made by a non-winnipegger and the comments section is full of non-winnipeggers.
