Incredible impressions of Aurora and ice formations, must have been a very lucky time for you there. Can`t get the the icy / golden drone shot out of my head .
Some while ago Nick Page did a video of extra bits that he took on his coastal courses. One of them was a portable mains powered hot air boot /glove dryer. The air temperature is regulated so as not to be too hot. Some have an ioniser which works well on stinky wellies. I bought one from Amazon which works well.
Hi Stuart - terrific location. On your ‘rant’ with the rocks on the ice, I had a similar experience here in Western Australia. We have some brilliant coastal/inland sand dune systems. I was taking some photographs being careful where I walked. I found one location which I got really excited about of a small tree sticking out of the sand. As I set up I noticed a couple of empty drinks bottles at the foot of the tree. I couldn’t move around them and couldn’t remove them as it would have meant footprints up to the tree. Really annoying that people just don’t care enough about a pristine environment, never mind upsetting us photographers 😡😅
Stunning set of photos Stuart, fully get Dem's fish heads quite like those. As for the mindless photographers, they want dumping in the first fjord head first
Pity the numpties spoiled a very photogenic scene Stuart but glad you still managed to capture some great images from this location. The aurora and drone images were equally as stunning and absolutely can see why your 2025 workshop dates for here have been snapped up and would image 2026 will prove to be as equally as popular
You just can’t beat natures patterns, be it the aurora or the patterns in the frozen sea ice. Lovely photos as always, although Dems is a little freakish 🐟🐟
I rather liked Dem's shots. They weren't prize winners perhaps, but they were fascinating anyway. Great vid mate, thoroughly enjoyable. What a great place.
Hi Stuart, more great images thanks for sharing .. kinda lost for words really. Can't help thinking that Dem suffered for his art ... and the thought of having fish brains dripping onto me isn't quite my idea of heaven. I wholheartedly agree with you about the rocks on the ice, "take only photos, leave only footprints" is no bad motto. Sure we've all done a wee bit of gardening on occasion to clean up a shot, but that was just bonkers.
Very good Stuart, love the aurora shoots in particular but the broken ice images are superb. Unfortunately the world is full of numpties with little or no regards towards others. That said, if you are one inclined to throw rocks on ice to break it, make sure the dam thing is big and heavy enough to break through first time sink and isn't left on the surface.
Wowzer! Those aurora shots were fabulous, well all of the shots were fabulous, but I’m especially in awe of the conditions you had for the night time shots. Did I read somewhere that someone was actually walking on the ice too? Stupidity in action, and so frustrating that people do things like that with no regard for anything but themselves. I thought your rant was quite subdued, but then it probably had to be to get published 😁 thanks for spending the time to chat at the show too, was very nice meeting you.
I think that you could call this video Fire & Ice, what with the aurora and ice. Some cracking images Stuart. _(no pun intended)_ Thanks for the video.
When you see the conditions and images that stem from your trips Stu it's no wonder you sell out the workshops. Fabulous location and you really do nail the images.. stunning work - don't think I would be hanging around the fish heaeds too long, apart from smell I could see myself having nightmares over them eyes...lol. Glad you made the point abt the togs and the ice breaking.. it looked awful after you had pointed it out... I think you might have put it over more strongly but your compassioned plea was well measured. atb Al
What a display of light and colour and you captured it beautifully. Stunning images, even Dems fishy masterpiece. I bet he is gutted after seeing the image at 16:37 ,that is a great image. The drone images at the end were also really good, just a different, unique perspective. Beautifully put together mate enjoyed that!
I have to admit, I had to chuckle upon hearing someone from Scotland commenting that it must be nice to live "here". Living in Louisiana as I do, I see pretty much anywhere else and I think "it must be nice to live there"... 😀
I’m not from Scotland though the Lake District where I’m from is beautiful also and I’m very fortunate to be based there - like everything there’s degrees of it and this place is beauty on steroids
@@StuartMcGlennonapologies for that -- I mistakenly thought I had heard you indicate you were originally from Scotland (maybe on the Pubcast) but I'll still stand by my second statement. LOL Beautiful photos nonetheless.
You've captured some amazing imagery once again. Love them all, though what was Dem on? I couldn't help thinking that it was all part of an elaborate April Fools plot he's hoping to catch us all out with when the time comes, but I could be wrong.🤭You must monitor more closely what he's consuming to ensure you don't have any repeats of this bizarre behaviour. Can't wait for the next installment!
Thanks Ian I actually could see his vision though it’s nearly impossible to capture with a 35mm sensor camera, needs probably 10+ images as panorama into a square of some sort at a medium to long focal length (or shoot large format film).
@@StuartMcGlennon, it was quite a macabre vision nonetheless. I liked the image you took of it from the outside, especially when it was backlit. Very effective!😊
Great video Stu, really was surprised to see the mess left on the ice, f*#kwits. For your next video can you do a kit review on hazmat suits and the best Lynx body spray as suggested by Dem 😂 Great stuff
Hi Stuart, these were absolutely beautiful images and I totally agree with your rant. It was absolutely justified. Unfortunately there are a lot of stupid people in this world.
Good video Stuart, those boneheads were tossing out rocks to prevent anyone else from getting the same shot they did.....boneheads (I'm being too nice).
Sadly Stuart it's not just photographer's throwing rocks on ice....so called wildlife photographer's hassling animals and birds is becoming a real problem here in the South Lakes... they've got big enough bloody lenses, why do they need to try and get so close to nest's etc??🤬🤬
"I want more eyes....." what a classic line, cheers Stuart for another great video
👍👍
Thanks for taking us all on this incredible rollercoaster Ride, Stuart!
Really valid point about the rocks goes against creativity as it’s destructive. Your first shot of the ice sheets is magnificent Stuart.
Delighted for you, and gutted for me in equal measure! Great video though, really looking forward to the follow-up. 🙂👍
😂 aye what could have been - cheers mate
Incredible impressions of Aurora and ice formations, must have been a very lucky time for you there. Can`t get the the icy / golden drone shot out of my head .
Thanks a Claus 👍
Great video, Stuart!
👍
Wow Stuart.... Just Wow! Amazing images and video. Really enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers Garry much appreciated
Simply incredible conditions and shots ! I loved the aurora reflections in the pools, really increased the impact of the shot ! Awesome as always
Thanks mate lovely to catch up last week 👍
@@StuartMcGlennon was great to see you too mate
Lake District. Completed it.
Scotland. Completed it.
Norway. Completed it.
May I suggest Canada, Alaska or somewhere in South America next?
Haha I’ll need to save up!
Wow Stuart what an amazing video just can’t pick any favourite shots they are all so beautiful can’t wait to watch the next video 😍
Cheers John
Great pictures Stuart loved them.
Thanks very much
Beautiful video Stuart! Really enjoyed the fish shot with the mountain actually! The frozen crack shots at the end were great too!
Cheers haha my Mrs likes that one lol
Nice to see you back on RUclips, Stuart, and, minus the fish heads, some beautiful images.
Thanks Gary
Love the drone shots.
Thanks

Smashing video. Superb images and loved the boot dryer.
Thanks Maureen
Welcome back! Got some keepers there

Wonderful trip Stu - must have been such an unforgettable experience. I'm up in the Lakes again this week so will pop in & say hello if you are about.
Cheers mate nice to see you the other day
Likewise - good luck with the move.@@StuartMcGlennon
I would really like to paint the aurora, but I need a still image something like your first photo when it reflects into the pool surrounded by rocks.
Stunning set of photos Stuart, fully get Dem's fish heads quite like those.
As for the mindless photographers, they want dumping in the first fjord head first
Thanks Ian yep I’d happily volunteer to push them in
Fabulous, Stuart. I run out of superlatives (good ones, I mean😉). Stunning images and maybe fishography is for another occasion. Thanks for sharing 😊👍

Another great vid bud. Just realised I watched these in the wrong order!! The drone images are just beautiful

Wow amazing, sometimes you just have to stand back and take it all in. 😀

Kp 7 for your first time! Amazing! Liked the second mountain/ice cracks shot best.

looking at a trip over myself, what time of year is this as a guide
I like dems fish heads 😂👍 (the cracked ice mist job is fantastic too)
thanks Glen
Great images! The fish heads were unusual but interesting. What iso did you use to shoot the aurora? Great stuff as always.

You'll ruin your boots drying them out to quickly - damages stitching on Gore tex liner and will start leaking after while .
A lot of assumptions there chief though thanks for your concern - I wore wellies the entire week so not really relevant
