My Bible reading plan is very simple. Start at Genesis 1:1 and keep going until I finish Revelation 22. It's worked for me. Bible reading plans serve a great purpose. You never have to stress over where to start. There is something to learn throughout the Bible, and if you are a morning reader, having a starting point sure helps. God bless all. Peace
I am grateful the Lord has given me the desire to read his Word. Starting my 7th year. Humbled to spend time in this manner everyday. It Amos up my prayer time and simply causes me to be a better person.
The men at my church are going through “Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian Life” by Donald S. Whitney (the gentleman in the video) It has been an immeasurable joy to go through it. We are actually doing a review of Chapter 4 this weekend! I strongly recommend y’all check it out. Grace and Peace brethren!
I'm from India, and I stumbled upon your channel a few days ago. Thank you for the content - it is indeed very good and very well made & edited. I will be sharing it with my friends.
S.O.A.P.S. stands for: Scripture: Write out one or more verses that are particularly meaningful today. Observation: Rewrite those verses or critical points in your own words to better understand. Application: Think about what it means to obey these commands in your own life. Prayer: Write a prayer telling God what you’ve learned and how you plan to obey. Sharing: Ask God who He wants you to share what you’ve learned/applied.
I read the Bible through every year, Genesis to Revelation, and I like too. I enjoy it and it works for me. There are six translations that I rotate: KJV, NKJV, NIV, ESV, NLT and I just added the CSB.
One of the best sermons I have heard was on a Sunday morning, 20 years ago, First Baptist Church, Durham, NC when Dr. Don Whitney spoke on Revival. Praise God.
God gave me the time (sailer so much of free time) to read the Bible twice last year. Genesis to revelation. I suggest to read different passages, because if you are reading cronicles for a week... it is pretty boring so to say.
understanding the bible is more important than reading it. Most people aren’t comprehending by reading through in 72 hours….theres literally no purpose.
The problem when he says God gave us the Bible in an order is that he is referring to the American order of the Bible not how the Hebrews originally read it which is the correct order.
Just as an FYI that’s only for the Old Testament, and you can easily find it online just search Hebrew Bible vs Old Testament book order and read the Bible you have in that Hebrew Bible order. Rest assured it’s not some closely guarded secret 😁, Jesus himself mentioned it, most just don’t care. Both ways of the OT are profitable though. Be blessed sis.
Without Bible you can never understand how God is, what He likes and what He dislikes. One precaution though if I could put it in old and in bigger font size : During menstruation never touch Bible, and if husband or children will be reading Bible do not touch them before the read bible. Be usse after you touch them and they touch the Bible becomes a sin even if you may disbelieve will not change the truth., if you ate pork do not read bible.
As an atheist, I _definitely_ encourage reading the Bible! And yes, start at the beginning and read it through. Don't just read the pleasant bits picked out for you by some pastor. There would be a lot more atheists if Christians would just _read the Bible._
Bill Garthright well if somebody goes into a healthy church, they will most likely receive expositions preaching which examines ALL of scripture including the difficult parts. You’re an atheist because you’re in rebellion to God, not because you read all the Bible... Plenty of people read the word of God completely and are saved. Why do they reach a different conclusion than you do? In any case, I useto be an atheist myself. By the Grace of God, I am not. I wanted only my subjective truth rather than examining all objective truth. If you examined all the truth you would notice that God has no reason to even keep you alive because of all your wretched behavior. But you won’t even confess that because you are righteous and wise in your own eyes. If you’ve truly read the full bible then you should be remembering a few scriptures I’m mentioning without quoting them. Regardless, I hope that you repent for your sins against the sovereign God of the universe just like I have. Put aside the pride. Deal honestly with the word. Not just looking at the difficult scriptures but ALL of it. You’re a hell deserving sinner... but Christ died that whoever believes in Him will have everlasting life.
+Mel _preaching which examines ALL of scripture including the difficult parts_ Uh, huh. Right. You mean preachers will attempt to excuse the craziest parts of the Bible? It was my experience that they just ignored those parts, but trying to rationalize away slavery, genocide, and blood sacrifices - to say nothing of the treatment of women in the Bible - is even worse. _You’re an atheist because you’re in rebellion to God_ LOL I'm an atheist because I see no reason to think that a god exists, let alone a personal god, let alone a _particular_ personal god. Do you have any evidence that your god exists? If you have just *one piece of good evidence* that your god exists, I'd love to hear it. Just *one.* Why is that too much to ask? _I useto be an atheist myself_ Yeah, yeah. Nearly _every_ Christian these days "used to be an atheist" - according to them, at least. Apparently, in religious circles, it's really, really popular to be a former atheist. Hey, in some cases, it might even be true. So what? But I'll bite. What evidence convinced _you_ that -a god- this particular god exists? If you really _were_ an atheist, there must be some evidence that changed your mind, right? Well, that's all I want, just _evidence._ And I'm curious. Like the vast majority of religious people, did you just so happen to decide that it was the specific god you'd been taught to believe as a baby? Funny how that works, isn't it? Worldwide, religious people _overwhelmingly_ believe in whatever god and whatever religion they happen to have been taught as children. (There are converts - in every direction - but they're relatively rare.) But no, that's not suspicious, huh? :) _If you examined all the truth_ Well, I don't have the time or space to examine _all_ the truth. Not immediately, at least. So why don't you start with just *one piece of good evidence* that your god exists. Or maybe *one piece of good evidence* that _any_ of the magic stuff in the Bible - your choice - actually happened? _God has no reason to even keep you alive because of all your wretched behavior_ Yeah, we all know that 'God' only kills atheists, huh? Good people never die young, right? But what "wretched behavior" are you talking about? What kind of wicked stuff are you imagining that I do? (And please, if you masturbate while you imagine those things, I _don't_ want to hear about it!) _You’re a hell deserving sinner_ What a con! Christianity convinces you that you're sick, so they can sell you the cure. It's almost impressive. _Christ died that whoever believes in Him will have everlasting life_ How, exactly, did that work? How did torturing someone else to death 2,000 years ago have anything to do with _me?_ I wasn't even around then. And is that really the best plan a god could come up with? Sacrificing himself to himself to convince himself to forgive people for stuff they hadn't done? The village idiot could have come up with a better plan than _that._ Again, how - exactly _how_ - did that work? Blood magic? Any god, let alone an all-powerful god, could have forgiven people for anything he wanted at any time he wanted. Who was going to stop him, after all? And punishing someone else for something _you_ did doesn't take away your guilt, anyway. Indeed, if you accept that kind of thing, I'd say it makes you even _more_ guilty. I would not allow someone else to be punished for something _I_ did, but I guess I'm more moral than most Christians, huh? Well, it's a good thing this is just imaginary, huh? At least, that we have zero reason to think otherwise? Or do you actually have evidence that this fairy tale is really true? Again, I'm looking for *one piece of good evidence.* Without that, why should I believe you? Why wouldn't I believe Muslims, Hindus, Wiccans, Mormons, Raelians, Scientologists, or members of one of the other religions, all of whom make unsupported claims just like Christians do? Why should I believe _any_ of you, unless you've got even *one piece of good evidence* that your claims are actually true? If you really _were_ an atheist - if that wasn't just a lie - you should understand this. Evidence is how we distinguish reality from delusion and wishful-thinking. Well, where's your _evidence?_

This reminds me of the time I read the Bible in 30 days
@@SubLuminary Those are tough. Like 18 chapters a day.
Jesus loves you, He is Lord, He died for you, and He rose again three days later. Repent and put your faith in Jesus Christ!
I have studied the bible and I guarantee you Bible is full of contradictions and Mistakes
Amen🙏🏾

Do you read a whole version in order to move to another or do you interchange them?
I think GNT/GNBDK is better than NIV/NLT
In my opinion
I’m reading through the Bible with the Bible app you version ! I love it.
One of the best sermons I have heard was on a Sunday morning, 20 years ago, First Baptist Church, Durham, NC when Dr. Don Whitney spoke on Revival. Praise God.
I'm from Durham, good city
GLORY HONOUR & ALL PRAISED
BELONGS TO THE GREAT ETERNAL GOD. HALLELUJAH TO THE GREAT ETERNAL GOD.
I've read the Bible in 6 months 12x. It takes 30-45 minutes per day. It's not difficult. You just have to be dedicated.
I did the 90 day Bible challenge, and reading forty five minutes a day, I was able to read through the Bible in four months.
Has the bible changed your life?
I Love Dr. Whitney. I Love His sermons. He is a pastor that pushes you toward godliness through the spiritual disciplines. Thank you Dr. Whitney.
Very helpful comments and recommendations on bible reading plans. Thank you.
Thank you these sensible suggestions.
Finally someone who makes sense to me Thank You for the share God Bless!
We need more bible study deep dives than reading to tick a box imo. I've done the plans but I like to savor a book at a time.
Praise the Lord
🥰amen
Such amazinnnngg explanation. Glory to god.
Be Blessed Man Of God
It is feasible to read the entire Scriptures in three months.
I did it reading four versions.
It is plain reading, not study.
You are correct. Study is different than reading. There is value in both.
Well said. Helpful guidance there. Thanks.
God gave me the time (sailer so much of free time) to read the Bible twice last year.
Genesis to revelation.
I suggest to read different passages, because if you are reading cronicles for a week... it is pretty boring so to say.
I read the Scriptures in four versions.
I hv difficulty with King James Version but I do enjoy the poetic cadence of the King's English...
Great information, thank you.
Get the word of God, be justified the way God said, then get stablished in the faith the way God said (he has written in the Book how to read.)
3 chapters a day? Really? Ok that's doable.
understanding the bible is more important than reading it. Most people aren’t comprehending by reading through in 72 hours….theres literally no purpose.
I believe he was using that as an example of how easy it is to do not as an example of what you should do.
You are 100% right
Grant Horners method is old but good
The problem when he says God gave us the Bible in an order is that he is referring to the American order of the Bible not how the Hebrews originally read it which is the correct order.
Are you a Hebrew who knows the correct order in which to read it? Will you share that with me?
Just as an FYI that’s only for the Old Testament, and you can easily find it online just search Hebrew Bible vs Old Testament book order and read the Bible you have in that Hebrew Bible order.

I do not know what makes me laugh more, his comment, or that in the XXI century there are still atheists, or rather repressed agnostics.
You know, it makes me laugh more than an "atheist" is commenting and watching a video about plans to read the bible.
Yes, it by itself will be the base for the judgement day 👍
