We went through 10 years of infertility procedures and during five of those years we tried to adopt. I couldn't even look at babies. We were in Israel in August of 1988 and my sweet mother-in-law took me to the Tomb of Baba Sali. I didn't have much hope but didn't want to hurt her feelings. Just as I put my hands on the tomb, a woman put her baby next to my right arm. I got so upset. We adopted our beautiful daughter when she was two months old. She was born when we were in Israel in August of 1988.

Thank you Nesanel Gantz, an innovator in chesed by bringing, at no cost!! Tefilloh at kivrei Tzadikim and davening for each other on 15th of av.
You bring honor to you father A"H. He was always active (as opposed to reactive) in doing Chesed.

Exactly one year ago, I submitted names of myself and my family for brachos at the kever of the holy Baba Sali. I put in my note that I was asking especially for health as I quite literally suffer from a rare genetic connective tissue disease called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). In a nutshell, having EDS means that my collagen is too stretchy, so all my joints are loose and highly susceptible to injury. At the time, I knew another spine surgery was coming up and this was to be my twelfth major orthopaedic or spinal surgery to date, but I’ve been putting it off and putting it off some more. So, about four months later I started to lose feeling in my left leg which is not a good sign. Before I knew it my left leg was no longer functioning. I couldn’t move my foot and the nerves were so messed-up that even touching my foot or leg caused an enormous amount of pain along with spasm. I went to the emergency room and was admitted on the spot, later that night I was transferred to a major university hospital and a doc that I never met before took my case. When I met the doc, I had a feeling that I could trust this man literally with my life, it’s hard to explain. The only reason I ended up there was because I got to the emergency room towards the end of the day and my previous consulting surgeon was not available and they were having trouble contacting the surgeon covering, so the ER doc called over and spoke with this other doctor at the university hospital who said to admit me and transfer me that night. So, I was there a week and he was very cautious doing a lot of tests to make sure he didn’t miss anything, which was part of the reason why I was there for a week. On day five I had my surgery and it was a totally different surgery that was way less invasive than what was previously recommended to me. He was honest with me that I will need more surgeries down the road, but this will give me the best chance at getting my feeling back as well as quality of life in the interim. He did stress that nothing is guaranteed, but he had a good feeling about it. As soon as I got out of surgery I was obviously in pain asI literally had bone removed from my spine to allow the nerves to have space to be free. He did this instead of removing disc as they did once before and were going to do again. The thing was, as soon as I was asked if I felt them touch my foot MY ANSWER WAS “YES” - AND IT DIDN’T HURT OR SPASM - I WAS ALSO ABLE TO MOVE MY TOES JUST A LITTLE. The following morning the physical therapist came up and was very pleased as I was walking quite a bit, even though I was still using my cane, I was moving quicker than I have in a long time. They encouraged me to stay to keep the pain under better control and I went home on day 7. I was home and doing good compared to how I was prior to this, however I got COVID-19 not long after. Getting COVID delayed my PT and though my leg is not doing as good, I can feel it, I can move my toes, etc. I ALSO SURVIVED COVID, ALBEIT I AM VACCINATED! So, I saw a link for this video again this morning and first thought to myself, argh, what a horrible year! I then realized that the surgery that I’ve been putting off happened, but you can’t make up the story surrounding it! You also can’t make up that I am doing a lot better with the nerves! I also survived COVID and my whole family did to include my four children at home who were not vaccinated! So, yes, IT WAS A ROUGH YEAR, BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN A WHOLE LOT WORSE IN MANY WAYS! THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT HASHEM SPARED ME, SPARED US, BUT JUST LIKE THE DOC HAD A FEELING WITH ME, I HAVE A FEELING THAT THE BRACHOS HAD A LITTLE MORE THAN SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT!

There are some miracle workers who are able to pray and their prayers are heard. Every case is individual. But YHWH hears every sincere prayer. God heals the sick, and we only need to ask.
