Civerous are awesome. I pre-ordered the album from 20 Buck Spin as I have most of their releases this year. If you haven't yet, you should check out Slimelord, also on 20 Buck Spin. Their album is more adventurous than the Civerous album.

The new Civerous album is definitely one of the best death metal releases this year, but with a potentially monstrous Ulcerate album looming in the not to distant future, is't waaaay to early to talk AOTY.. 🤗 .. hopefully a forthcoming Nile album will also be in the AOTY conversation.. 🙏

I've told my nephews for over a decade: you don't quit bad habits, you just develop more good habits.
When it comes to pain and discomfort, I can't speak for anyone else, but for me pain is life. I can't enjoy anything unless I've struggled to get it first. I can try to convince myself easily gotten pleasures are good, but the best ones are only earned. I try to suffer and accomplish something every day, so I can relax that evening and enjoy the fruits of my suffering. It just keeps my anxiety down and my happiness up while I watch so many people around me struggle. But it's easier said then done.

I just got Maze Envy on vinyl a couple of days ago from 20 Buck Spin. I was a little put off by the lengthy intro track(GET THE FUCK GOING!!!), but it won me over. AOTY? Let's see how that new Ulcerate record shapes up first. As for the fidelity issues: I notice this type of stuff on so many vinyl releases these days. It is so jarring and ruins an otherwise great listening experience.
