So I just picked up a new 2024 Fender AV2 blackguard 51 Telecaster reissue, no a custom shop, just a standard fender model from the USA shop. And let me tell you, it is absolutely incredible! I aged down some of the parts ever so slightly to knock off that overly shiny look. And it’s perfect! I love the fret, the fingerboard seems to already have that rolled edge feel. It plays like butter. The stock pickups are glorious. No it ain’t no 53 blackguard like Aaron is playing, but it definitely scratches that itch for only $2500 and not dozens of thousands of dollars…now to only hope it actually ages with the nitro over poly…maybe it will check naturally and dull down over time. ❤ either way I absolutely love it! Another great demo by the boys of ECG!
I’ve watched many of these, and this is the first time I’ve commented. Thank you so much for the videos! Hearing this guitar (and many others) played and displayed so beautifully is inspiring.
Roy Buchanan had a 53 ..named affectionately Nancy…..he had an anomaly with the treble pickup hence the transistor biting tone in treble position and used a viibro verb 2x10 silver faced 73 amp turned around because of feedback from that pinch harmonics…but no pedals then ..just 53 straight in…ahhh…tele bliss…🤙🏻🤙🏻😊
No anomaly , it was broken…glorious but broken none the less and Roy was famous for black panel vibrolux amps turned around because they were maxed out on volume and Roy preferred the sound that way. ( I imagine the audience too because they are loud!,
It’s possible but it’s difficult to get the switch to stay when you are rippin and tearin! I know a lot of prominent guitarists who play black guards have had the wiring updated to something closer to modern. My favorite is bridge with tone control, both pickups and tone control and front position no tone control. It gives you more useful tones and gives the front pup a little more mojo. The other big perk is that you can set your amp more off the front pickup and use the tone control to keep the bridge in the sweet spot.
Its a shame they command such a price that most will end up in a mansion somewhere standing next to warhol or a very expensive Keith richards framed picture
He never played it in the first position. All we got to hear was the bridge pickup and then the combination of the bridge and the lipstick pickup. We didn't get that first position or lipstick pickup alone. ??? Disappointing.

Probably my favorite demo of all time. The pure tone, the playing, the rig -- superb.
Wow! Thanks Jon!! That's way cool to hear. :)
This is probably the best Tele demo that Aaron has ever done! Smokin!
Nice! Thanks!! Thats awesome! Glad you liked it!
As always Aaron's straight bringing the fury! He's an absolutely amazing guitarist

Aaron has played beautifully on so many of these… but this one is really something else. Incredible playing on a great guitar.
Thanks Ben!! Appreciate it!!! Glad you dig the videos!
Somebody PLEASE make a compilation video of Aaron's demo playing!
:)
WOW!! Aaron was on fire for this. Thank you!
Thank you!
A Telecaster into a Vibrolux is the same recipe Roy Buchanan used. Great demo!
aaron. yeah, i could hear him playing the whole day.
unreal demo!!! and i thought aaron was a god with a strat in his hands... tele is too good
What an awesome GEM OF A GUITAR!!!!! 💎💎💎💎💎
Great playing, but I'd like to hear the blend control in use when you demo one of these guitars.
Holy SHIT the playing!
Daddy, daddy...forget about that god-damned Oompa Loompa. I want that 1953 Tele, and I want it now!
I love telecasters

OH pick of the litter
HOT DAMN!
👌🏼
💪👏🙌👏
Next best thing to Aaron on a strat is Aaron on a tele… followed by Aaron on a les Paul.
Haha. Thanks! Thats the order of my comfort level on guitars so you're spot on haha.
Aaron must be so depressed playing all these great axes then going home to plugging in his little danelectro
Are you joking?
A multipiece body on a 1953?
Two piece bodies to three piece bodies were the norm.
Since its a 3-way switch, have you ever tried to knock it in between to get the neck and bridge together? Is that even possible? haha

I guess it sounds alright 😂🤣😂😍
That intro prob took 25 hrs to edit
