Yep, you can create up to 20 presentations without upgrading your account. However it does only give you 2 GB storage, but this is more than enough to explore how presentations work and if they are useful to you. Thanks for commenting!
Contrary to Davincigirl’s opinion I found this video extremely valuable as I do of all your videos Chris! This enforces the axiom “You can’t please everyone” … paraphrasing of course! Have a great new year!
Blackmagic is totally killing it ! No need for FrameIO anymore that became overcomplicated and buggy … very exciting. Question: does a presentation mean one video? Or can it contain multiple videos? Regarding the settings, do you know how much each video weight and thus space it occupies on the cloud?
Hi there... You can upload more than one video for each presentation. So, after review you can upload the changes as a separate upload. However, it doesn't have the versioning that FrameIO has and you can only rename or delete an existing file in the cloud. This is still early days though. As for settings... I mentioned in the video that there doesn't seem to be any settings to control the size of the file you're uploading. I would love to see more options in the future to better manage storage on Blackmagic Cloud. The only thing I've noticed is that if you don't have enough storage the upload will fail. Edit: As a quick test I uploaded this 10min video and it took approximately 1.4 GB of storage on my Cloud. It took the same amount of storage whether I uploaded from a 720 or 1080 timeline. HTH.
@@Chris.Robertsthank you so much for testing this out. Seems quite heavy for a 10 min video .. hopefully they offer the option to upload lower resolution in the future… although it’s obviously their business model to entice customers to subscribe to cloud storage
I agree. The fact that the timeline resolution doesn't affect the presentation size is interesting. Also, I've noticed the presentation is available for review immediately after the upload completes. That and the fact that no file is left on your system seems to suggest some clever optimisation is going on behind the scenes... Still, more control would be welcome... Guess we'll have to wait and see... 🤔
@@Chris.Roberts I tested the feature and indeed it's very promising although still a bit early days. There is an issue that haven't been able to solve though. I have a personal free black magic account with only 2 GB of storage but I work with a colleague Editor who has the subscription and more space available. I am invited to collaborate on the project stored on my friends library. So when I click on "Project Server" (on the black magic cloud homepage), what I see there is my friend's library. When I click on "cloud storage" in the left bar, I can choose to access my personal storage or my friends project libraries. Yet there is no way for me to export a presentation on my friends account, even if the project is actually stored on my friends clouds library. This is an issue because I don't have enough space available while I think I should be able to choose on which account I am exporting. Are you or anyone familiar with this problem? Is this amazing feature due to the early beta stage of the Service? Thanks again for sharing all your beautiful knowledge.
I did stop yours training after the second day. I can not understand you teach a lots of useless things in 19 and use a non stabile version full Full of known bugs. The Cloud by the way is still illegal by European Privacy Laws. All the time i feel remember those offerings like sour beer.
Sorry you didn’t like the training. It was a beginners class and maybe it wasn’t suitable to your level. However what do you mean the version I use is full of known bugs and how is the Blackmagic Cloud in violation of privacy laws?
The training was absolutely wonderfull, a true christmas gift from a true gentleman. If u'r not a beginner u should know that beginner's info is not useless. The man is a so true gentleman that he even kindly responded your blame. Your comment serves nothing by itself. Chris is, by far, the best teacher offering free content at youtube. If u dont like it go spend your time at something else and keep hater's and totally useless comments like that for yourself. And I checked your channel, is a total mess just like that comment. Tip: if u delete this all this conversation vanish and u save yourself from this ridiculous shame and the precious time of good people.
Looks like the courses you should be concentrating on next would be ESL and a grade school class on spelling! For the moment let’s just ignore the “Tact” course …😂
Wow, that is so cool. Thank you for sharing. I’m going to use this for my next project.
Wonderful! Thanks for commenting 🙏🏻
I was not aware of this functionality. Thanks for sharing.
That's good to hear. Thanks for commenting.
Wow! I didn't realize it was free!

Thank you and HNY to you too!
Thankfully I gave up trying to please everyone a long time ago. Great to hear you found the video useful. 🙏🏻
Happy New Year. I hope the video was made before the Christmas break. Your voice sounds like you're a bit exhausted.
HNY! Yes, the video was recorded just before Christmas and is a very small part of a much longer class. No wonder I sound tired 😉
