love the "you can get these trinkets in the begning of chapter 2" and it shows him buying them .. it also shows him with $17K and here i am at the beginning of chapter 2 with about $30
The trinkets are made with pelts or other animal parts that you bring them, you can't just buy them straight out. Even the clothes made with animal parts can't be bought straight up, you need to hunt the parts 1st.
Tip 0.5 Before starting the game: relax, slow down, take a few deep breaths. Imagine you're beginning a long journey and there is no rush. Otherwise you (like me) will become frustrated by the very, very slow pace of the movement system and actions. seemingly everything you do has 3 more steps and a slow animation to what normally would be instant and fast paced. The game has amazing depth and detail for everything and if you're not prepared to meet it on its own terms with regard pacing, you will become very disillusioned after reading all the super high scores and awesome reviews. Could be a bit too much like real life chores for some.
It’s not terribly slow, but it certainly could be faster. Realism should the last thing any developer cares about, and adding realism (which to many game developers just means make everything ridiculously slow, so slow that it’s unrealistic) should never worsen the player’s experience.
Also once you have the fast travel map at your base, you can fast travel to lots of places while out in the wild. Just set up a camp and then you get the option to fast travel, really helpful to get back home when your on the other side of the map.
I actually love travelling in rdr2 tho 🤣 the random stranger encounters and sudden fights with other gangs makes the game more immersive. Like if im an outlaw, id definitely expect other gangs and sherrifs to pop out of nowhere ambushing me 🤣

Unlock the fast travel - buy dutches tent and buy your own tent
I have played the game twice and here is what I can recommend: 1) Money is irrelevant. You get more money just from main missions than you could ever spend. 2) You never need to buy ammo or guns. You will get more than you can use off bodies and houses. 3) Cloths changes are pointless. You will only lose health when getting shot by mobs but you will have so many health tonics it won't matter. 4) Get the white Arabian horse right away. He is by Lake Isabella in the far north west. 5) Dead eye is the key to all combat.
I too have played this game twice since it came out in 2018, drinking tonics before entering in combat or entering in dangerous territory is also highly advised. Robbing stagecoaches and wagons with chests in them at isolated areas is a fast way to make money as well.
If you're a player like me who likes to have flashy guns from the start you'll definitely need money It's easy to get if you complete the treasure maps in chapter 2. You can easily start off with 4k if you complete them
Ngl I never used the Deady Eye mode only bc I didn't know how to. There was 2 3 times when the game made us use it but I never learned how to so I've been shooting the whole game manually and never using dead eye. Hella fun but there were times where I could've used it lmao
About the saddles, i think is better hunt 10 perfect snakes or 1 perfect alligator and make saddles in the trapper. They are complete with the stirups and have better status.
1. Do daily choirs. 2. Do not cash in your gold bars and jewels until you need the cash. If you are killed it will save you a ton of cash. 3. Get the Ledgends of the East bag from Person. It makes thing so much easier. 4. Kill geese, ducks and pigs for FAT when ever you get the opportunity. Explosive ammo is the awesome and fun. Good list with these things added.
Another tip, instead of buying the saddle, make the alligator saddle in the trapper. The materials to craft it are super easy to gather and it is better than any purchased saddle.
Tips from my experience: 1. There's no point in saving up your money until you reach the Epilogue, so splurge on camp and gun upgrades whenever you have the money. 2. There's a Veteran stranger mission that you might want to play for when the epilogue starts or else you'll lose something precious eventually. But that again depends on you. 3. This game is really immersive even when you're travelling from one place to another while riding the horse so interact with whatever stranger missions that come your way, abandoned buildings and all to get the most out of it. 3. When riding you're on your horse, have a finger on the "calming" button in order to randomly calm your horse when the opportunity strikes. This helps with bonding with the horse quicker. 4. There's no point in collecting or buying horses until you reach the Epilogue. Focus on getting the white Arabian a little after the second chapter and you'll be set throughout the main story. The White Arabian is one of the hardest horses to kill during your gun fights so that comes in handy. 5. Speaking of horses dying, don't take it for granted. You could fall off a high cliff or get hit by a train and you wouldn't know. So keep a horse reviver handy at all times. 6. Finally when you're hunting animals, such as deers, buck, boars it's easier to go after them on a fast horse and lasso and have a clean kill. Instead of using an arrow or varmint rifle/.22 ammo. Sure some hunts require the arrow/throwing knife or bigger ones require the varmint so figure that out on your hunting missions. Avoid shotguns at all cost if you're looking for a perfect pelt. 7. Get a rifle with scope sooner in the game. It'll make missions where you have to fight enemies, hunt animals much much easier. I rarely used the dead eye so these rifle came in handy and the shotguns for closer ranges. But once you reach Saint Denis, they have a semi-automatic pistol, that's the most modern handgun you could get. So people not fan of the revolvers and the never-ending reloading time can go for that. Hope this helps. Feel free to comment for any questions that you may have.
Everyone probably knows this already, but it's best to try and unlock the entire map as soon as you can. Once you explore most of the map early on in the game, it makes it easier to find collectibles and locations which you'll need. Also make sure to do the bounty hunting missions, they are pretty easy to do and they give you some nice money as well without hurting your honor.
The best saddles are the ones you get made at the trapper which are only the cost of one pelt per saddle. The trapper makes the saddle and you go to a stable to get the saddle equip to the horse, go to a stable then click on equipment & scroll down to where it says repurchased saddles and that’s where they will be at
When your first in chapter 2 near the horseshoe overlook camp you will come across a snake bit dude and give him medicine in a couple of in game days gone by go to the gun shop in valintine and he will offer to pay you back by letting you buy a gun on his tab .. Go inside the gunsmith store and get the varmet rifle for free .. Don't worry about any other gun. Because those you can get for free in the world
And don’t “think on it” with the plan to come back later to use that offer. Because the offer is only good for then and there! I learned that the hard way. Lost my ability to get that free gun just because I couldn’t decide what gun to get at that moment and wanted to research it later. Ugh.
A big STORY / IMMERSION thing I did second time around was actually *talk* to everyone between each mission! (With L2 plus square on PS4) - There's a TON of story and world building hidden away in this hardly mentioned feature! Good old Rockstar, stashing secret game depth all through their game experiences! :D
dude... this was there most mature masterpiece of all time! The writing is phenomenal! Aside from rdr 1 that is. GTA is funny and satirical but this is just leagues ahead...
I would definitely recommend getting the legend of the east satchel as soon as possible. It is a huge pain in the ass but well worth your time if you plan on taking your time through the campaign anyways.
My 2 tips: The fence is available immediately in chapter 1 without doing Hosea's Emerald Ranch mission if you just go to Saint Denis. The off-hand holster is also available immediately in chapter 1 without breaking Micah out of the pokey if you just get the Herbalist level 1 and get the bonus off-hand holster.
Why's everyone cheating and using the gold glitch. Just play the game properly, you can still make money just means you have to play it how it was intended
I agree completely. Having too much money lowers the stakes & makes the game dull. Gaming is the only way to fulfill our need for adventure. If there's no challenge, it cheapens the reward!
To be honest in beginning you don't have to worry too much on money. I would suggest get weapons and upgrade asap. Since there are multiple ways to gain more especially quest that involved robbing. And once you unlock trapper it's easy money. (One you can find near Riggs Station, there's hill near to the station. You need to go there to reveal him.) Note: You need to learn how to hunt properly. Some animals need specific guns or arrow type to hunt. Use Binocular and study the animal will reveal the weapon suitable for it and the "material" quality next to the animal name. Cook the meat and sell the pelts.
Craft all your satchels as early as possible to get the best satchel is probably the most important. You can't carry much without it. And honestly, money is pretty easy to come by. You'll have more than you know what to do with before mid game.
It pisses me off, everytime I start making progess on honor, someone just GOT to do something to piss me off and I have to murder them. Or I forget that I have a weapon out when I go to greet someone, then they start shooting at me, aaaand I have to murder them.😵
My biggest problem is getting on my horse in Saint Denis and instead strangling some poor by-stander. I love this game but sometimes the game doesn't quite pick up the correct context. Like freeing a hog-tied victim but instead kicking their face in.
before progressing to story max upgrade the camp and satchels and make sure you are equip with hunting tools for perfect pelt you will enjoy the game more and have room for all the loots And yes try to search for treasures, time consuming but satisfying. U can always use a guide though haha Tip: do the questline with straus in chapter 2 to unlock camp upgrade
one in-game control setting I recommend is to toggle the fishing setting to the hold down square button or you will find it much easier to reel in the fish and save your thumb from agonizing rotating action
I got the game today and havent died yet -but what happens if i die? Will i wake up at the camp? -and i killed the legendary bear, what do i do with the fur?
@@JaguarJuline its extremelyyyy late but I guess this comment serves another purpose is anyone was to read this comment with the same question as you, anyway, you can make outfits with the fur which is what I did, made a hat, or you can sell it for money and or craft something with it, not sure what but I'm sure a satchel or something requires legendary bear pelt.
I'm doing my first gameplay in third person view, being as honorable as possible and will do the second playthrough in first person, being a bad-ass outlaw. This game is so deep, and I haven't even seen 50-60% of the world map yet. RDR2 is definitely going to keep me occupied until next year, that's for sure! Thank you for the videos! Keep it up.

If I followed these money tips Id have quit playing weeks ago. R* games (outside of GTA:O) have always had broken economies due to to much available money. Not buying guns or horses or tack, I'd be swimming in money, and I don't do the gold bar glitch or search out many treasures, and I buy recipes instead of finding them. I'd much rather NEED to rob a train to upgrade a weapon or pay a bounty. Guess thats just me though
I feel you. I'd rather this game had a NEED to rob something. I didn't use any glitches, bought everything I wanted or needed ended the game with 20k and I had atleast 20k by chapter 3 so Dutch banging on about needing money was stupid

Those spans on bridges South of Roades or W of Annesburg where you can park a train and rob without police/bounty being able to reach you. Thats what I'm more referring to, but fair point
MF Allen all the guns they give you for free except for the ones in the gun catalog there are certain guns you could find in Homestead robberies or at the Rhodes gun store that are not available to you yet so you can get them early if there's guns available in the catalog in the beginning of the game and you have the money I would recommend buying them unless you know the locations where to find them
Pro tip, some horses that look ugly in the stable are actually really nice out in the game. For example, that grey horse with brown patches at the strawberry stables is actually a great looking horse

Yeah I just thought it was a bit hypocritical telling you not to waste money on certain things when you’ve cheated enough money to complete the game 5 times over. The advice isn’t bad in itself.
Get the bear saddle as soon as possible. One of the best saddles in the game and you dont have to spend a dime aside from on ammo. Also with full good honor, you can buy expensive horses for half price and sell them for more than full price once theyre fully bonded. Have a solid horse for a while then sell it for profit.
Many of the locked guns at the store can be found as well. The schofield is in the secret room in valentines general store, the semi shotgun is in some cabin with a crazy old lady that tells you to go in the basement and the Lancaster is in the Rhodes gunsmith if you free the chained up guy in the basement but you need to stranger tips to be able to some of these. I’m sure the other guns are out there somewhere I just have yet to find them. Lots to find in this game if you go out and explore.
For Fast Travel: You can set a fire camp in the middle of nowhere and fast travel option will pop up in the options next to cooking and sleeping option and you can travel to wherever you want. Not just at the main camp.
The first thing I do is work on the Legendary satchel. Once you get that you can carry so many things and it helps with everything. After that I get the pamphlets then the trinkets.

Excellent video. I’m on my 2nd play through as well. I got past the 1st epilogue and realized I played this game all wrong. If there Is any advice I can give, it would be to take your time. The game is much more fun to explore rather than rushing through the campaign. If you rush through so much content will be missed. Instead of being a person playing a video game become Arthur Morgan and think about how you would navigate the world that way. Enjoy the freedom rock star has simulated for us. Because today’s society we have no idea what real freedom is.

Some of the best horses are found in the wild. There are 3 Arabians that can be found in the wild, The White Arabian just to the left of Lake Isabella, the Red Chestnut Arabian Southwest of Owanjila, and the Warped Brindle Arabian west of the Wapiti Indian Reservation
Every few months, I do another playthrough and still find new things to do. My first couple of playthroughs, I didn't find a fraction of the things or craft many of the items available. I don't like to 100% games but the cool thing about RDR2 is the adventure/exploring feature which ties into other things like crafting. My playthrough now is on the PS5 because it popped up on PS+ and I've only played it on Xbox. Graphics seem better on PS5.
This game is superb out of all my years of gaming this is definitely top 5. The story to attention to detail is amazing. Idk if it's happening but really hoping for a RDR3

There's a trick to getting a good horse in chapter 2 .. Wait until you do the hosea hunting mission because if you get a horse you like before that mission you will loose it because hosea gives you a horse and takes you to the Valentine horse stable and your better off to sell it and buy the warmblood horse they off you for 15 dollors and then after that mission go find the better horse
I did so much hunting, camp chores, etc that I leveled my deadeye to level 8 before I even rescued Sean from blackwater haha. So all the Valerian root I have is useless now. All I can do is sell it for some cash. Think I got my health all the way up too. Stamina still working on but you can level that up SUPER quick just running in circles around Valentine.
For the trinkets and tailsmans you can’t get them all at the beginning. The crocodile you can’t even hunt until chapter 4-6 after you complete a mission. The cougar you can’t hunt until your not wanted in black water anymore
I think upgrading your satchel is one of the most important things people shouldn't forget. I did it during my 2nd playthrough and being able to basically collect almost unlimited amount of items is heaven on earth if you have the best satchel Pearson can craft in the game, of course.

For anyone who still hasn't found out about this, you can steal a black arabian from St. Denis as soon as you hit Chapter 2. There is a random event in front of the theatre at night where a couple is getting robbed. You can walk right past the event and find the robber's black arabian hitched to a post. Personally, I think this is a batman easter egg where Bruce Wayne's parents are killed in front of a theatre with the Dark Knight/Bruce Wayne/Black arabian looking on. But I could be just reading too much into it

Just starting my 2nd play through, great video buddy. I didn’t start doing the satchels until chapter 6 when I was kinda at the point of just wanting to finish. Also didn’t have many of the talismans or trinkets. Got a lot of them done late and thought dam I shoulda done these a long time ago lol. Love ur vids.
I personally don't think that beginners should use the fast travel feature because then they miss out on lots of side quests and other sidetracking goodies

I might be alone in this.. first let me preface this by saying, yes, this game is epic. It's really good. But for a casual gamer (was more hardcore in my youth) I find that it's toooo overwhelming. If that's such a thing. They pack so much into this game I don't know where to start. I get too OCD and wonder if I'm doing things correctly and how things will affect me later. I guess I realized, for me, what type of gamer I am now.. and for me, less is more. I think this game is "too open" for me. And it makes me sad cause I really did want to like this game. Provisions, tonics, crafting, pelts, I mean.. damn. I guess I might be too simple.
You guys realize you can just put your mask on and jump in the back of a wagon and hit defuse 3 times, and the wagon driver will run without a crime! Good way to make money but not too much money like gold bar glitching.
There are also the 4 gold bars scattered throughout the game world. In chapter 2, there is a gold bar in the Sheriff's office of the burnt down town of Limpany a short distance from horseshoe overlook and there are two more in a train wreck north of the heartlands. These 2 are a little tricky to get so I recommend using a guide. Once you have all 3 and have unlocked the fence, you can sell them and get an easy $1500 starting cash. The 4th gold bar only becomes available in Chapter 4. It's in a lock box in Braithwaite Manor and can earn you an extra $500
There’s way more than 3, you get tons from each treasure map, you can do the statue puzzle for more, the crashed train and those are just the major ones, there’s more around the map

The settings are super believable and detailed, the characters are genuine and they cause real emotions... i was trying to be a good dude and having to shoot my way through 40 people in a small town to rescue that dink Micah really made me angry at him lol. Its too bad the online game is the worst in comparison. Everything that sucks about the internet plus fantasy violence. Clown shoes.
I actually did the legendary animals very early first time around, mainly because I'm more of an exploring gamer, and when I get a rockstar game, the first thing |I d is go and explore. I kept noticing the warning come up that I was in a legendary animals domain, so decided to hunt it. Also because I always explore the map asap, I found st denis and was able to get the trapper and the fence there quite early in the game. It means I've still not finished the game though, as I only had limited time with it n PS4, so and I put all my time into doing my own thing. I have the game on PC now though, so playing it again. I did a bit of the story (up to where I can free micah and also when I need to get that fella from blackwater) but now I'm gonna go and get my white horse, and then go hunting. I think I should probs try and get the sniper rifle first, but I can't remember what mission I need for it. TBH the rifles I do have access to at the moment have a fair bit of distance on them already, and I like hunting with the bow and arrow anyway. I think maybe poison arrows might be the way to go, as it will drop almost anything I would imagine, you will just have to chase it a bit. you can't loose quality on legendary animals though, so by rights you could throw dynamite at it probably. ha ha.

I’m on my second play through now. I just got the game a couple weeks ago and I’m obsessed. My biggest tip for any new players is HUNT HUNT HUNT. Gather all the perfect pelts you can get and use them to craft the Legends of the East satchel from Pearson. It makes such a huge difference with the amount of materials you can carry. Even after you’ve gotten the satchels, keep hunting for perfect pelts and selling them to the trapper for cool clothing items and saddles.
"Special Ammo"; Dynamite Arrows and Incindeary Buckshot are SO Cool!!! You can also do your own Fire Arrows. Buying Horses?? I try to cash in a gold bar and "Buy" the American Standardbred instead of taking the free Reverse Dapple in Chpt2. THEN, after I have a couple of the Free Horses I can Sell the Standardbred back to the stable. Guns??? Get an "Off Hand Holster" as soon as you can, you can pick up several guns off the ground.
Do the neccesary missions in chapter 2 to be able to upgrade your satchel all the way. Buy Mr. Pearson his leatherwork tools and get the free travel option, it`s a gamechanger! Get the Bolt Action rifle early in Valentine (random hanging scene) Watch the lawmen; one is carrying a repeter, the other a bolt action. Take him out and RUN! Lancaster in the gunshop in Rhodes, pump-action shotgun in Chez Porter, Big Walley, free cash (respawning) in the small hut behind Shady Belle. Btw; I was able to get the Hall-gang map 1 in chapter 1 when catching & bringing in Kieran "the O`Driscill boy" In optons; set horse control to "horse relative" & running mode to "hold to run".

I had no idea about the gun though, so now I have to buy it. 😩 Or will there be another hanging, with another opportunity? Also, what does “horse relative” do?
@@64fairlane305 The hanging wasn’t a mission, and I didn’t know there was a gun to get there at the time so I didn’t make a save for that. The only 2 save files of mine that aren’t super recent are too old to revert back to - too much progress would be lost. I’ll have to buy the gun. Oh well. Also, you didn’t answer - what does “horse relative” do? I thought there’d be an animal or 2 in the blackwater region for the satchels (like the panther maybe), so that’s good to know. So I guess it’s just a legendary animal there in that region (and a really good one too, as it makes the trinket where carcasses won’t rot. Ugh).

Otherwise you (like me) will become frustrated by the very, very slow pace of the movement system and actions. seemingly everything you do has 3 more steps and a slow animation to what normally would be instant and fast paced.
The game has amazing depth and detail for everything and if you're not prepared to meet it on its own terms with regard pacing, you will become very disillusioned after reading all the super high scores and awesome reviews.
Could be a bit too much like real life chores for some.

It’s not terribly slow, but it certainly could be faster. Realism should the last thing any developer cares about, and adding realism (which to many game developers just means make everything ridiculously slow, so slow that it’s unrealistic) should never worsen the player’s experience.

Also once you have the fast travel map at your base, you can fast travel to lots of places while out in the wild. Just set up a camp and then you get the option to fast travel, really helpful to get back home when your on the other side of the map.

I actually love travelling in rdr2 tho 🤣 the random stranger encounters and sudden fights with other gangs makes the game more immersive. Like if im an outlaw, id definitely expect other gangs and sherrifs to pop out of nowhere ambushing me 🤣

Point 5 is bullshit. Get a perfect beaver, gator , Panther or so on and take the best saddle in game from the trapper for free.
I have played the game twice and here is what I can recommend:
1) Money is irrelevant. You get more money just from main missions than you could ever spend.
2) You never need to buy ammo or guns. You will get more than you can use off bodies and houses.
3) Cloths changes are pointless. You will only lose health when getting shot by mobs but you will have so many health tonics it won't matter.
4) Get the white Arabian horse right away. He is by Lake Isabella in the far north west.
5) Dead eye is the key to all combat.
I too have played this game twice since it came out in 2018, drinking tonics before entering in combat or entering in dangerous territory is also highly advised. Robbing stagecoaches and wagons with chests in them at isolated areas is a fast way to make money as well.
I disagree with what you said about ammo. If you want to use regular ammo, then maybe, but I prefer to use express or high velocity bullets.
If you're a player like me who likes to have flashy guns from the start you'll definitely need money
It's easy to get if you complete the treasure maps in chapter 2. You can easily start off with 4k if you complete them
Ngl I never used the Deady Eye mode only bc I didn't know how to. There was 2 3 times when the game made us use it but I never learned how to so I've been shooting the whole game manually and never using dead eye. Hella fun but there were times where I could've used it lmao

About the saddles, i think is better hunt 10 perfect snakes or 1 perfect alligator and make saddles in the trapper. They are complete with the stirups and have better status.

The bear saddle is sweet too!
1. Do daily choirs.
2. Do not cash in your gold bars and jewels until you need the cash. If you are killed it will save you a ton of cash.
3. Get the Ledgends of the East bag from Person. It makes thing so much easier.
4. Kill geese, ducks and pigs for FAT when ever you get the opportunity. Explosive ammo is the awesome and fun.

DO NOT DO CHORES! Just go to St. Denis and greet everyone in the city! You will get way more points much quicker! Chores are a waste of hand muscles.

Another tip, instead of buying the saddle, make the alligator saddle in the trapper. The materials to craft it are super easy to gather and it is better than any purchased saddle.

Tips from my experience:
1. There's no point in saving up your money until you reach the Epilogue, so splurge on camp and gun upgrades whenever you have the money.
2. There's a Veteran stranger mission that you might want to play for when the epilogue starts or else you'll lose something precious eventually. But that again depends on you.
3. This game is really immersive even when you're travelling from one place to another while riding the horse so interact with whatever stranger missions that come your way, abandoned buildings and all to get the most out of it.
3. When riding you're on your horse, have a finger on the "calming" button in order to randomly calm your horse when the opportunity strikes. This helps with bonding with the horse quicker.
4. There's no point in collecting or buying horses until you reach the Epilogue. Focus on getting the white Arabian a little after the second chapter and you'll be set throughout the main story. The White Arabian is one of the hardest horses to kill during your gun fights so that comes in handy.
5. Speaking of horses dying, don't take it for granted. You could fall off a high cliff or get hit by a train and you wouldn't know. So keep a horse reviver handy at all times.
6. Finally when you're hunting animals, such as deers, buck, boars it's easier to go after them on a fast horse and lasso and have a clean kill. Instead of using an arrow or varmint rifle/.22 ammo. Sure some hunts require the arrow/throwing knife or bigger ones require the varmint so figure that out on your hunting missions. Avoid shotguns at all cost if you're looking for a perfect pelt.
7. Get a rifle with scope sooner in the game. It'll make missions where you have to fight enemies, hunt animals much much easier. I rarely used the dead eye so these rifle came in handy and the shotguns for closer ranges. But once you reach Saint Denis, they have a semi-automatic pistol, that's the most modern handgun you could get. So people not fan of the revolvers and the never-ending reloading time can go for that.

Using Dead-eye in a rapid on/off manner will auto reload for you.
Everyone probably knows this already, but it's best to try and unlock the entire map as soon as you can. Once you explore most of the map early on in the game, it makes it easier to find collectibles and locations which you'll need. Also make sure to do the bounty hunting missions, they are pretty easy to do and they give you some nice money as well without hurting your honor.
The best saddles are the ones you get made at the trapper which are only the cost of one pelt per saddle. The trapper makes the saddle and you go to a stable to get the saddle equip to the horse, go to a stable then click on equipment & scroll down to where it says repurchased saddles and that’s where they will be at
When your first in chapter 2 near the horseshoe overlook camp you will come across a snake bit dude and give him medicine in a couple of in game days gone by go to the gun shop in valintine and he will offer to pay you back by letting you buy a gun on his tab .. Go inside the gunsmith store and get the varmet rifle for free .. Don't worry about any other gun. Because those you can get for free in the world

And don’t “think on it” with the plan to come back later to use that offer. Because the offer is only good for then and there! I learned that the hard way. Lost my ability to get that free gun just because I couldn’t decide what gun to get at that moment and wanted to research it later. Ugh.
A big STORY / IMMERSION thing I did second time around was actually *talk* to everyone between each mission! (With L2 plus square on PS4)

I would definitely recommend getting the legend of the east satchel as soon as possible. It is a huge pain in the ass but well worth your time if you plan on taking your time through the campaign anyways.

The fence is available immediately in chapter 1 without doing Hosea's Emerald Ranch mission if you just go to Saint Denis.
The off-hand holster is also available immediately in chapter 1 without breaking Micah out of the pokey if you just get the Herbalist level 1 and get the bonus off-hand holster.

To be honest in beginning you don't have to worry too much on money. I would suggest get weapons and upgrade asap. Since there are multiple ways to gain more especially quest that involved robbing. And once you unlock trapper it's easy money. (One you can find near Riggs Station, there's hill near to the station. You need to go there to reveal him.)
Note: You need to learn how to hunt properly. Some animals need specific guns or arrow type to hunt. Use Binocular and study the animal will reveal the weapon suitable for it and the "material" quality next to the animal name. Cook the meat and sell the pelts.
Craft all your satchels as early as possible to get the best satchel is probably the most important. You can't carry much without it. And honestly, money is pretty easy to come by. You'll have more than you know what to do with before mid game.

My biggest problem is getting on my horse in Saint Denis and instead strangling some poor by-stander. I love this game but sometimes the game doesn't quite pick up the correct context. Like freeing a hog-tied victim but instead kicking their face in.

max upgrade the camp and satchels and make sure you are equip with hunting tools for perfect pelt you will enjoy the game more and have room for all the loots
And yes try to search for treasures, time consuming but satisfying. U can always use a guide though haha
Tip: do the questline with straus in chapter 2 to unlock camp upgrade
one in-game control setting I recommend is to toggle the fishing setting to the hold down square button or you will find it much easier to reel in the fish and save your thumb from agonizing rotating action

I'm doing my first gameplay in third person view, being as honorable as possible and will do the second playthrough in first person, being a bad-ass outlaw.

If I followed these money tips Id have quit playing weeks ago. R* games (outside of GTA:O) have always had broken economies due to to much available money. Not buying guns or horses or tack, I'd be swimming in money, and I don't do the gold bar glitch or search out many treasures, and I buy recipes instead of finding them. I'd much rather NEED to rob a train to upgrade a weapon or pay a bounty. Guess thats just me though
I feel you. I'd rather this game had a NEED to rob something. I didn't use any glitches, bought everything I wanted or needed ended the game with 20k and I had atleast 20k by chapter 3 so Dutch banging on about needing money was stupid

MF Allen all the guns they give you for free except for the ones in the gun catalog there are certain guns you could find in Homestead robberies or at the Rhodes gun store that are not available to you yet so you can get them early if there's guns available in the catalog in the beginning of the game and you have the money I would recommend buying them unless you know the locations where to find them

Get the bear saddle as soon as possible. One of the best saddles in the game and you dont have to spend a dime aside from on ammo. Also with full good honor, you can buy expensive horses for half price and sell them for more than full price once theyre fully bonded. Have a solid horse for a while then sell it for profit.
Many of the locked guns at the store can be found as well. The schofield is in the secret room in valentines general store, the semi shotgun is in some cabin with a crazy old lady that tells you to go in the basement and the Lancaster is in the Rhodes gunsmith if you free the chained up guy in the basement but you need to stranger tips to be able to some of these. I’m sure the other guns are out there somewhere I just have yet to find them. Lots to find in this game if you go out and explore.

For Fast Travel: You can set a fire camp in the middle of nowhere and fast travel option will pop up in the options next to cooking and sleeping option and you can travel to wherever you want. Not just at the main camp.

If there Is any advice I can give, it would be to take your time. The game is much more fun to explore rather than rushing through the campaign. If you rush through so much content will be missed.

Every few months, I do another playthrough and still find new things to do. My first couple of playthroughs, I didn't find a fraction of the things or craft many of the items available. I don't like to 100% games but the cool thing about RDR2 is the adventure/exploring feature which ties into other things like crafting. My playthrough now is on the PS5 because it popped up on PS+ and I've only played it on Xbox. Graphics seem better on PS5.
This game is superb out of all my years of gaming this is definitely top 5. The story to attention to detail is amazing. Idk if it's happening but really hoping for a RDR3

There's a trick to getting a good horse in chapter 2 .. Wait until you do the hosea hunting mission because if you get a horse you like before that mission you will loose it because hosea gives you a horse and takes you to the Valentine horse stable and your better off to sell it and buy the warmblood horse they off you for 15 dollors and then after that mission go find the better horse

I did so much hunting, camp chores, etc that I leveled my deadeye to level 8 before I even rescued Sean from blackwater haha. So all the Valerian root I have is useless now. All I can do is sell it for some cash. Think I got my health all the way up too. Stamina still working on but you can level that up SUPER quick just running in circles around Valentine.

For the trinkets and tailsmans you can’t get them all at the beginning. The crocodile you can’t even hunt until chapter 4-6 after you complete a mission. The cougar you can’t hunt until your not wanted in black water anymore

I think upgrading your satchel is one of the most important things people shouldn't forget.
I did it during my 2nd playthrough and being able to basically collect almost unlimited amount of items is heaven on earth if you have the best satchel Pearson can craft in the game, of course.

For anyone who still hasn't found out about this, you can steal a black arabian from St. Denis as soon as you hit Chapter 2. There is a random event in front of the theatre at night where a couple is getting robbed. You can walk right past the event and find the robber's black arabian hitched to a post. Personally, I think this is a batman easter egg where Bruce Wayne's parents are killed in front of a theatre with the Dark Knight/Bruce Wayne/Black arabian looking on. But I could be just reading too much into it

I personally don't think that beginners should use the fast travel feature because then they miss out on lots of side quests and other sidetracking goodies

I might be alone in this.. first let me preface this by saying, yes, this game is epic. It's really good. But for a casual gamer (was more hardcore in my youth) I find that it's toooo overwhelming. If that's such a thing. They pack so much into this game I don't know where to start. I get too OCD and wonder if I'm doing things correctly and how things will affect me later. I guess I realized, for me, what type of gamer I am now.. and for me, less is more. I think this game is "too open" for me. And it makes me sad cause I really did want to like this game. Provisions, tonics, crafting, pelts, I mean.. damn. I guess I might be too simple.
I had to buy the dual .45s saving side missions, but I’m almost at the end of 4 and I missed the train semi. They slap so hard
You guys realize you can just put your mask on and jump in the back of a wagon and hit defuse 3 times, and the wagon driver will run without a crime! Good way to make money but not too much money like gold bar glitching.
There are also the 4 gold bars scattered throughout the game world.
In chapter 2, there is a gold bar in the Sheriff's office of the burnt down town of Limpany a short distance from horseshoe overlook and there are two more in a train wreck north of the heartlands. These 2 are a little tricky to get so I recommend using a guide.
Once you have all 3 and have unlocked the fence, you can sell them and get an easy $1500 starting cash.
The 4th gold bar only becomes available in Chapter 4. It's in a lock box in Braithwaite Manor and can earn you an extra $500
There’s way more than 3, you get tons from each treasure map, you can do the statue puzzle for more, the crashed train and those are just the major ones, there’s more around the map

I have considered restarting the game a few times, cus I did some things foolishly and spent money stupidly.
I love how deep and believable this game is. The story is amazing. The settings are super believable and detailed, the characters are genuine and they cause real emotions... i was trying to be a good dude and having to shoot my way through 40 people in a small town to rescue that dink Micah really made me angry at him lol.
Its too bad the online game is the worst in comparison. Everything that sucks about the internet plus fantasy violence. Clown shoes.
I think how good the story mode is makes up for the crappy online. Never cared for online in these games anyway.
I actually did the legendary animals very early first time around, mainly because I'm more of an exploring gamer, and when I get a rockstar game, the first thing |I d is go and explore. I kept noticing the warning come up that I was in a legendary animals domain, so decided to hunt it. Also because I always explore the map asap, I found st denis and was able to get the trapper and the fence there quite early in the game.
It means I've still not finished the game though, as I only had limited time with it n PS4, so and I put all my time into doing my own thing. I have the game on PC now though, so playing it again. I did a bit of the story (up to where I can free micah and also when I need to get that fella from blackwater) but now I'm gonna go and get my white horse, and then go hunting. I think I should probs try and get the sniper rifle first, but I can't remember what mission I need for it. TBH the rifles I do have access to at the moment have a fair bit of distance on them already, and I like hunting with the bow and arrow anyway.
I think maybe poison arrows might be the way to go, as it will drop almost anything I would imagine, you will just have to chase it a bit. you can't loose quality on legendary animals though, so by rights you could throw dynamite at it probably. ha ha.
I got the legendary of the east satchel at the beginning of chapter 2, and most trinkets ^_^
Still on my first play through and taking my time with the story because im getting side tracked with so much awesomeness.

I’m on my second play through now. I just got the game a couple weeks ago and I’m obsessed. My biggest tip for any new players is HUNT HUNT HUNT. Gather all the perfect pelts you can get and use them to craft the Legends of the East satchel from Pearson. It makes such a huge difference with the amount of materials you can carry. Even after you’ve gotten the satchels, keep hunting for perfect pelts and selling them to the trapper for cool clothing items and saddles.
How do I give my perfect pelts to my camp? I'm just selling all my perfect carcasses to the butcher at Valentine's lol 😅

Buying Horses?? I try to cash in a gold bar and "Buy" the American Standardbred instead of taking the free Reverse Dapple in Chpt2. THEN, after I have a couple of the Free Horses I can Sell the Standardbred back to the stable.
Guns??? Get an "Off Hand Holster" as soon as you can, you can pick up several guns off the ground.
Do the neccesary missions in chapter 2 to be able to upgrade your satchel all the way. Buy Mr. Pearson his leatherwork tools and get the free travel option, it`s a gamechanger! Get the Bolt Action rifle early in Valentine (random hanging scene) Watch the lawmen; one is carrying a repeter, the other a bolt action. Take him out and RUN! Lancaster in the gunshop in Rhodes, pump-action shotgun in Chez Porter, Big Walley, free cash (respawning) in the small hut behind Shady Belle. Btw; I was able to get the Hall-gang map 1 in chapter 1 when catching & bringing in Kieran "the O`Driscill boy" In optons; set horse control to "horse relative" & running mode to "hold to run".
THIS (max upgraded satchel) is the most important thing to do ealy in the game.

I’m bummed - I saw the hanging the other day - watched the whole thing. I had no idea about the gun though, so now I have to buy it. 😩 Or will there be another hanging, with another opportunity?

The hanging wasn’t a mission, and I didn’t know there was a gun to get there at the time so I didn’t make a save for that. The only 2 save files of mine that aren’t super recent are too old to revert back to - too much progress would be lost. I’ll have to buy the gun. Oh well.
Also, you didn’t answer - what does “horse relative” do?
I thought there’d be an animal or 2 in the blackwater region for the satchels (like the panther maybe), so that’s good to know. So I guess it’s just a legendary animal there in that region (and a really good one too, as it makes the trinket where carcasses won’t rot. Ugh).
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 Horse relative camera in settings, the only way to play the game. You`ll find anything here on youtube, where to find & kill any animal. For panthers & other predators, use predatorbait
