If Val had a "relationship" with every partner, every year, every season...he must be an awfully busy man! I'm not saying he doesn't have a connection with a lot of his partners but I do believe a lot of this is for creating interest in the show. They also say similar things about all the other pros/stars. Think about it... and also look back at all the other seasons. Everyone is supposedly in love, dating, attracted, ect. ect. It gets old after awhile. But still a great video and a great show.
