That is outstanding artistry ! Wow.
Thanks so much
Such a great craftsman. Imaginative and clever, Thanks for so generously showing your techniques!
Thanks for such kind comments (again) Mike.
Did anybody else notice the damage to the d & N on the dEVIL & SONs logo is magicly gone in the final finish pic. He deff started over.
What damage? I need to watch my video back.
Ahh, I see. The way the font is deliberately broken in the print? I think what I did is varnish the logo, then decided to paint the gaps in to make it stand out a bit more on the yellow.then more varnish. I don't have any decals with a solid print. Anyway, I guess that's what I did, it's too long ago to remember
Super helpful. Thanks!
It's a pleasure. Have you got some decals ready to go?
@@DevilAndSons Not yet but I am close to needing a few for a headstock I am working on.
Have you considered waterside decals?

@@DevilAndSons Yeah I am leaning that way!
@@terrythegnome2408 cool, so easy to make it so personal.
Great video
Thanks so much.
Have you ever tried spraying oil based varnish over it?
I've only ever tried a poly or nitro finish, or my favourite spraymax 2k.
Can you go onto a bare headstock my friend? I read somewhere that your supposed to have a layer of lacquer down 1st? Cheers Matt
Couldn’t help laugh when you said it’s ready to slide off the back lol 😂
Ha, glad it was funny.
It definitely adheres better if something is there. I think the adhesion primer will help though if you really aren't able to coat the headstock first. Assuming you are going to lacquer over the top it may be worth doing a coat first, or using a sealer first anyway which is good to do instead of clear coating on to bare wood.
