      Hi Shannon, thank you. i would try to find them as close to spot as possible and so for that it's usually cheaper to order them in quantity. Are you looking to grab a handful of Eagles or a whole tube? My dealer has them for $19.80 as of today and online they are $20 - $22 for random dates from Apmex and the others. I like to use ACH transcations and order $99 or more from JM Bullion to get the free shipping.

      I think the 1/4 oz, based on where spot is today, is the sweet spot. If you purchased a 1/4 oz Gold Eagle one month and a tube of 20 Silver Eagles the next month and repeated that for a couple of years you'd really be socking away the most liquid Bullion coins in the world and not taking up a bunch of space at the same time.

      @floridastacker  4 года назад

      Silver Wolverine yeah I get that especially since you’ve been actively stacking longer than I and these prices are much higher now. I’m well aware I am dollar cost averaging up, but honestly after selling both of my 19 Reverse Proof Eagles I was in a good spot to add Gold. I need to fund some other investments like my IRA before April 15th this and next month and re-stack cash - so for March and April I’m looking at adding my weekly Silver Eagles and a few 1/10th Gold Eagles mostly. Thanks again for all of your informative ideas you’ve helped me a lot to get my stack where it is today.

      Barbara Srellyk Thank you for your comment and feedback! I’m looking to get to 10 oz of yellow and 500 oz of white by end of 2021. Am thinking 65/35 should do it. Not sure we’ll see the GSR head that way before it goes the other but honestly, even if I can’t get more yellow weight via exchange I’ll still likely end up closer to 80/20 post 2022.

    Congratz on the 1oz Gold Buffalo. That's an amazing coin. I ordered a 1oz Buffalo a couple months back. I still prefer my Gold American Eagles though, something about the slightly more "copper" color to me looks awesome. What's crazy to think about is the amount of gold the majority of people out there "could" invest in if they simply got rid of their monthly car payments alone. I think the average auto loan is almost $550 month now. That's ~4 ounces of gold per year.

    • @jefesalsero
      @jefesalsero 4 года назад +1

      Believe me, I know! I have another 18 months before my car is scheduled for pay off. I want to get into a position (by working extra hours) to get it paid off within a year. What sucks is that when I bought it, and for several years thereafter, my car payment was being made for me - I had a well-paying corporate sales job (outside sales) that included a $600.00 a month car allowance and my gas charges were also reimbursed. Unfortunately, I was laid-off and lost that job a year ago, and since then I have been working a job in a different field that pays a lot less than my previous job and does not involve having a car allowance (I'm not in outside sales anymore - at least not for now). So, I'm stuck with a car payment of well over $500.00 per month. I may be able to land another sales job (and one that comes with a car allowance) within the year, but this is not for sure. And, there's always the risk of being laid-off and unemployed again (the job I have now, though paying less, is much more secure - I'm in healthcare now and lay-offs are a rarity). Anyway, I think many can relate to my situation. It's unfortunate. However, I still have some Gold in my stack, and I have been able to buy Silver (mostly ASE's and Libertads) even though I don't make the money I used to. And, I'll get my car paid off within the next 18 months - I'm determined! It makes sense to hold onto my 2015 Nissan Murano and drive it for many years ahead (if I sold it now, due to depreciation, it wouldn't be worth it). Once I get the car paid off, I will be adding a lot more to my stack as you mentioned! Note: I don't want to sell off my stack to pay off my car early. That may make financial sense, but my stack is a major component of my financial security and, from a psychological perspective, I don't want to touch it. The thought of wiping out my stack is something that doesn't sit well with me. I am a major fan of the Buy and HOLD strategy.

    If you're thinking about buying a 1-oz gold coin the maple leaf or the buffalo is the best choice, don't get the eagle, it has copper and silver in it, the copper will show on the front and the back eventually. Why they put copper in that coin I have no idea, it's just too harden the soft gold But the red copper marks come to the surface and it makes the coin look spotty. The Buffalo destroys the gold American Eagle

      Yes, I have one. They are prettier than the Buffs, but the color is less striking (as I'm sure you've noticed). The lower purity doesn't matter when you sell. U.S. dealers pay the same price for both. The Eagles will darken over time if left exposed to air, due to the copper and silver alloys. The older they get, the better they look in my opinion.

      I love the Britannia's it is just a shame that local dealers here don't want them. Not enough demand. They treat a lot of foreign silver and gold bullion like they would a generic round or bar. Basically if they cannot move it quickly they don't want it. So alas i am relegated to stacking Eagles and Maples which they have no time selling or calling up clients who want them. Thank you for stopping by and i appreciate your support.

Also we NEVER buy AGE because we are taxed on 22k gold but not on any gold that is 99.5+ pure. To us, it is just a stamp that differs but we have to pay an extra $200 for the same God's gold. Now for some reason, Bufs have become more plentiful in my city (not sure why??). In addition, the places I saw them for sale were $20 cheaper than maples! So of COURSE i picked one up...

    The date of silver coin or gold coin doesn't matter but only if you are a collector then it matters, other than that whatever the price of silver or gold is that is what you will get. If it's a 2015 or 2020 it's the same price you will get when you want to sell. Mind you , the store will charge more for a newer coin but it makes no sense if you are just a investor to buy the same coin for 10.00 or 20.00 more because it's a new year. I simply get what's available because at the end it's still a 1 oz or quarter oz

    My first big one with a buffalo as well. Then I had 12 oz of gold stolen. and when I restarted I ended up getting another one ounce Buffalo by luck, it was kind of like starting over but the exact same way. My silver didn't get stolen so I did a ratio swap Tyrion and I did have about 15 oz of silver so I didn't mind giving 82 for 1,,, no I've been buying and I'm finally back up to a little over 2 oz of gold. But that hurts knowing I should have 14. I think about it every night before I go to bed and sometimes during the day. My landlord ended up with it by not letting me back in. It's a long story. She allowed somebody else back in and they were supposed to take out the 450 my mother told him and then call me to give me the rest back and I never got the call and could not take him to court. Somebody that owns 50 properties is going to beat you in court. just a horrible story but seeing your Buffalo made me think that we had that in common. my second favorite coin is the 37.5 Oro Mexican libertad it's 1.2 Oz that's the only coin I like better than the Buffalo. I'm looking for one as I type. at one point I had 50 tent and traded 11 of them for the 37.5 gram mexican, basically got a free 10th off that one because the dealer couldn't get rid of it and he knew he would make more by selling the 11 tenths so instead of making me give him 12 he took 11 ,so we both won. I wish you the best of luck my brother. I think I'm going to hit the Subscribe button. I don't like cocky stackers and you seem very nice and humble, congratulations on your 2020 Buffalo. I ended up getting a 2018. Cheers

    I started buying USA pre-64 silver about five years ago. Given how it has all increased in value on the UK market I wish I had bought a lot more. I do like just to own them, little antiques that they are, the increase in value is nice, but it is not my main driver.
