During the post show, they had some of the Art Directors talking about the gameplay walkthrough. One of them described Basim as being a glass cannon character.
Assassin's creed is back baby.
I think the eagle is needed to find the target or to find hidden entrances and assassination opportunities.
Or you could explore, interrogate, collect info first etc. like real life?
@@paddington2063 Assassin's Creed is more fun to play without the the eagle's assistance and the xray vision/enemy tagging.
As always, no one requires you to use one or the other…if you want the eagle, it’s there, but if these diehard “we want to devolve back into AC1 play style,” then you can really on just your Eagle vision…
Eagle Vision is for Those with a Good amount of Isu blood in their line. While the pulse is mostly for those with a low amount of Isu DNA. Although, I would say Basims is technically Eagle/Theif Vision combo because of his Isu DNA and growing up as a thief
if the teleport bothers people ubis explanation for it is that basim is moving so fast that the animus cant keep up with him so it teleports/stutters behind basim after all they also said he is the fastest most agile assassin to date and this makes it feel true
I don't think Basim is actually TPing. It's the animus skipping between targeted enemies.
Yeah exactly and people forget how Arno could fucking morph into anyone he wants and can cache goods from nowhere, Evie could become invisible, Apple Of Eden, Isu like entities from the beginning, assassins are able to see through walls in eagle vision which is not normal and much more.
@@samzony Ma boi people didnt bought those games 'member?
Ok but a super computer controlling a characters wall skipping them from target to target... that's still teleporting lol
If you know who “Basim” really is…these skills make perfect sense
0:54 it's so weird how the other guard just stood there waiting for her to finish her cool move to just be killed later
Looks fantastic. I've missed this style of AC.
The bird wasn't in the original assassins creed games. Thats from origins on. Its fairly new
No, it is from the comic of III. And, chronologically speaking, Origins is the oldest. If the ability of the Hidden One is observation through birds and Eagle Vision is an Assassin's ability, there is no reason why Basim, who stands between the two, should not possess it
I was expecting this game with AC unity free run/ parkour system or the upgraded one. But this has same as origins.
Looks great
"unity level smooth" none of these guys ever mastered unity parkour lol
No one bothers to "master" Parkour. An average gamer plays the story once at Max. Parkour should be accessible and realistic, that's why origins Parkour always>>unity parkour
the parkour was janky as heck with the character getting stuck on buildings. When it worked it was a dream but if they continued to work on it I believe it would have been so good in further iterations.
@@sohamgosavi6797 exactly dude as much as I love assassins creed game and believe me I’ve played every of ac game from origins and below except the first one. But running on roofs gets old after a while. The only reason that keeps me playing ac games was a good story. Which is why I didn’t finish ac1. Unity is just too quick for its own good and its buggy to the point where it effects the immersion. Hopefully mirage is a level below unity.
@@amirlecter8318 it would affects the immersion I agree but maybe a tutorial of the move you can do would have been helpful but still the parkour alone wasn’t able to carry shit story.
I think by smooth they just meant the visual animation, the in between animation in that platform after platform, it's not about the skill
I haven't played Assassin's Creed since Brotherhood, so doesn't look very different from what I've already played.
So here is what you so-called fans wanted all along…devolving back to the roots and play style of a game 16 years ago thinking that is “what makes an AC game.” Will I play it? Yeah, but hoping we get more lore on Basim and hopefully modern day stuff. Will this be a “better” game than the previous 3? Very slim chance as once more the actions and mission setup will be as redundant as they were with Altair and Ezio…but hey, at least it will shut y’all up with this 1 game so we can get back to business with Hexe and Infinity 🤨
I’m kind of worried that they keep hiding the combat system. I have a bad feeling it’s just gonna be hack and slash still.
I just wish they kept it grounded… I don’t get why they bother including this teleporting and bird stuff - it straight up detracts from using the other systems in place.
It's basically easy mode.
Some Shadow of War crap
They can still include that skill but its needs better animation. Rather than shadow of mordor teleport its should look like Arkham Fear take downs. The animation is random depending on the enemy positioning and distance. So for example, Basim targets the nearest enemy with blade, sprint take down another and use throwing knifes for the 3rd.
These guys dont know real AC...they dont even know if the bird is new or old. Odyssey is as far as they can reach
Im still sceptical about this game. Hopefully it's good. This wasn't a great showing.
The visual and gameplay downgrades will be immense, it's Ubisoft after all.
Am I the only one who thinks that Mirage's gameplay is not feels old school enough? It's more like Origin/Odyssey/Valhalla style, especially the parkour. It's veeeery far away from Unity's smooth parkour for example. And that special, instant three kill move is very out of place. I know it's a fantasy world, but come on. I liked AC2/AC3 realism better than this.
I'm disappointed.
I hear you, but consider that this is the experiment game that will decide Ubi's next moves when it comes to the direction in which the franchise will go. If this game sells well and gain enough traction, they'll be more open to funding experiences that are even closer to the classic AC games. It's a half measure, and it may not be enough at times, but we as fans have the duty to make this game a success if we want to see more of these kinds of games.
You disappointed..not others lmao
Unity's parkour is not smooth.
the animation look good, but the actual parkour? Not smooth, at all.
I am glad they specifically said in the "back to the roots" trailer they went to the Ezio games for inspiration, but still, the parkour in Mirage doesn't look like an actual improvement to anything. So far it looks like only the map has been designed for Parkour, but the moveset is still the lackluster mess that is Origins to Valhalla Parkour.
It all looked good, except the teleporting ghost assasination, that's horrible.
Why?
@@realkingrav2265 Because it totally takes you out of the ''grounded'' experience they are trying to portray. And this game being a, going back to the roots, really doesn't fit well with a teleporting ghost assasin.
@@MrZealot112it’s a cool ability either way
@@TwinDragon163 kinda shit
Dude really said “dead by daylight mechanics” lol AC literally already used the falling scaffolding, definitely didn’t steal from a trash game like Dead by Daylight
are these guys even critics lol they dont know that that chain move is not what ac fans need
Hmmmm...
Mark my words, I think they fucked it up. As soon as i saw the supernatural ability to teleport assasinate, I was like nah.
2 or 3 hits? No thanks 😂
this is a stealth game, they have made it clear from the beginning that stealth will be the way to go.
Basim is supposed to be a glasscannon.
meaning you have to be really good to defeat hordes of enemies in an open confrontation.
Looks graphically underwhelming tbh.
Its cause its on old gen too I really wish everything was full on next gen by now
always been like that for these newer AC games
I partly disagree. The environments and lighting are gorgeous, but the characters and animations is where it falls flat. Those faces are straight up Lovecraftian-looking at times haha
@@valentynlyevyentsov I'd agree with that. I think even the environments look a bit static though. But you are right, the biggest issues are with the character models and the animations...
@@ninjakiwi2476 I think Valhalla straight up looks better in every way.
Yeah I'm not impressed. Going back to that old school easy combat that I hated all the time. I played this game before, the theme. Yall should've made AC Jade a AAA console game instead. These new AC games got overhyped and underperforming. I'm disappointed. Will be saving my money for another game.
I'm sorry this just looks the same as the previous version of assassins creed with a few mechanics from the open world creed games thrown in... no wow factor to draw me in. Will pass
