The bro’s in depth preview of this game shows a lot of passion and enthusiasm! Solid 👌🏽
Great preview Huber! Through all the ups and downs I still love this series and play every entry. Valhalla was so long and repetitive that I was genuinely a bit worried about the future of the series, but everything about Mirage sounds pretty great to me, looking forward to it!
Shohreh Aghdashloo has such a distinct voice, I recognized her in the first second of the video.
Its funny how I still think of her as admiral Shala'Raan in Mass Effect! Such a perfect role for her!
And also a name I could never remember...goddamn
She drove me crazy the first time I heard her voice in 24. She was the wife of a bad guy. Made me want to run headfirst into a wall. I've come to appreciate her voice now though
She is awesome
@@seanoceallachain I can still hear her calling out "Behrooz!". It's in my mind forever.
This dude is so hype, i love it haha.
i guess the most surprising thing about this review is how excited dude is for the franchise. I wish I had that excitement for a recent game franchise.
Maybe you're depressed?
That's Huber Hype. Be wary though, he was this excited in Redfall previews too and I got sucked in right along with him x.x
Another surprising thing is that it isn't a review at all. It's a hands-on impressions/preview video.
@@dieubermenschnah, its matter of fact most big game franchises have grown stale.
Thats why im so grateful we saw something like Baldur's Gate returning in such big way, its exactly what my age group of players (+30) who have seen it all, "been there and done that", hard to get excited by anything gamer generation needed.
Because honestly its very hard for me to get excited about something like AC Mirage, there is nothing here that would grab my attention, we have seen these AC games so many times before that even if its been so many years since the "traditional" Assassins Creed, I really cant get excited about it when Ubisoft cleary didnt even try to come uo with something new but play it safely to satisfy those who just want that traditional AC experience.
Baldur's Gate however is one of those franchises from the "good old, golden age of gaming" years that Larian manage to do more than justice, so im grateful that in this time when most games just seem "meh" there are exceptions and exceptional games like Baldur's Gate 3 that also show that not all old game franchises should remain dead and forgotten.
@@GOOBENsticks It's always tricky with previews. They want to give the game the benefit of the doubt, but realistically previews are often crafted demos and limited time. Harder to get the full picture.
Edit: Also bugs are a given when the game is in preview. Something like the loading textures Redfall had would get a pass in a preview, but not in the full review.
I like that they are going back to basics but I hope they keep the stealth engaging. I feel that AC3 had some really fun mechanics of using and training other assassins that I hope this doesn't feel like a step back when it comes to interesting stealth mechanics. Granted they've been working from 0 from the last few games with a focus on open world history fantasy.
I put over 300 hours into AC Valhalla and loved it. I overall prefer the long RPG format but I would like some more stealth stuff in them. My hope is the story in Mirage will be really good as thats what I'm most looking forward to in it.
More of these “smaller” linear story games please. Some of us have kids and can’t do 90 hours of Valhalla
Ye im much more into more linear or shorter campaings these days, especially because I have backlog of several hundreds of games 😂 I mean I can appreciate massive open world experience every now and then, but not every game has to be that way, bigger isnt always better. And for example with Skyrim, I have tried to go for it 2-3 times now during the last 12 years but at some point Ive always stopped because the scope of it all feels just too much. This wasnt a problem back in the day when there were far less games I was interested in and open world games werent so numerous, so I could easily enjoy doing and exploring everything in Morrowind and Oblivion for example, but these days I just wish game developers would go for quality over quantity. Especially so with Ubisoft who seem like they cant help themselves filling their open world games with tons of "meaningless" side activities.
For example right now Im replaying Jade Empire for the first times since it first came out in 2005 and Im glad its much more linear experience, thats why im even going now for 2nd playthrough as evil character...I could never replay something like Valhalla or Skyrim right after first playthrough, if ever. Thats why I was also glad to hear that Mass Effect 4 apparently will be more linear experience like first 3 games were instead of more open world experience like Andromeda
I wouldn't play Valhalla even if I do have a ton of free time.. Mirage needs to be different
Yea Valhalla is a tough one to get through.
Games are so big and stuffed with filler now that an open world game like this that takes place in a large city, is considered a small linear story game. LOL
Nice preview!
Everything looks even better now: challenging combat, stealth, parkour, dense and alive city.
Good afternoon bro, I hope all is well. Great vid!. I have a Important QA for AC mirage. Is the walking in Mirage like Origins Were you cant walk normal and if you move the stick you just auto run. Is there a dedicated run button?.
I can't stop hearing that Quarian lady
I'm still waiting for Assassin's Creed game like AC 3 or Unity. They had the best animations.
Unity yes, AC3 no
@@DV-ou1yu
For its time AC3 has incredible animations.
They mean ezio had best animations , ac3 had turckish metal hook , bad addition. Unity was slowpoke none remembers beside puzzles.
@@cosmincoco3679
No, the hook was from Revelations and it was an excellent addition to the parkour.
@@charoleawood its ezio follow altair ac 3 revelations.
I hope this AC has a mode like Tsushima’s Lethal mode where enemies and Basim die very quickly
Basim is hype
Correction: Available October 5
oh whoops, yup. For some reason it wasn't listed with the materials I first looked at, and I went off an outdated press release. Updated now. Thanks. -Bloodworth
Combat looks janky - crappy Golden Axe hack & slash style where the weapons just go through the mesh. Doesn’t look like there’s any physical connection with the swords until the kill animation, or the one enemy block.
I wish the goal was to try evolve & advance what the original AC parkour/stealth mechanics would be like had they not gone the rpg hack & slash route. Maybe even different parkour animations with some style
I hope Shohreh does the Arabic voice for her character as well because I'm thinking I might try the Arabic voice acting
combat looks really really bad, no impact, no animations, i miss the amazing counter-attacks from assassin's creed 1
Agreed...I dont know how they managed to screw that up. If they wanted to go "back to basics" with Assassins Creed, how they made the combat look worse than in the original game. Plus visually it looks really unimpressive even compared to previous 3 games. The fact that its coming for last gen consoles explains some of that, but the smaller scope still should have made possible some visual upgrade.
Im sure its gonna be decent/ok game, 7/10 game, but nothing beyond that. I wish Ubisoft had had more ambition for this title but I honestly dont see this pleasing anyone but the hardcore AC fans who have been disappointed with the franchise's new direction since Origins, who just so desperately have wanted that old AC experience, but even they are gonna get inferior experience compared to what was before, atleast based on what Ive seen here.
Damn I'm hyped af for this
Hopefully the next game they switch or improve their engine. AnvilNext is starting to look not so hot with every game. Give us AC Unity levels of baked lighting and character models.
Linearity is what i want in games. I hate the open world trend. Give me a curated experience!
2:52
Expanse schmanse. I will forever associate Shohreh Aghdashloo with House of Sand and Fog (10/10). And also Mass Effect.
I thought old AC was back, why do I see health bars on the enemies?
I guess its not exactly like the old games, but much more like them than the last 3 entries.
There might be real danger here now that Ive seen it that it wont appease either oldschool AC fans, and ofc neither would it appeal to Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla fans...and if that happens and should the game flop, then there is risk that Ubisoft will just go back to open world formula entirely with Assassins Creed, but I guess we shall see in couple of months.
Also there is another thing, but visually this doesnt really feel like that next generation leap, then again this is still cross-gen game (bad mistake in my honest opinion) so that would explain it.
Seems like they didn't want to completely shy away from aspects of Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla, so some things will still be present from those games. They probably didn't want to push away players who liked the larger scale AC games.
So you can see how much health they have.
Everything Huber talked about sounds great, but looking at the combat, why are the enemies not reacting to being hit? that's super concerning
Animations looked so janky to me. Even the first encounter that's like a sneak kill, it doesn't look like any of the hits land from that distance (no blood spray), but the enemy just like flails suddenly and has the jankiest glitchy animation as he falls.
@@GOOBENsticksthey think players don’t care about stuff like that, they haven’t changed these janky ass animations since origins
combat looks really really bad, no impact, no animations, i miss the amazing counter-attacks from assassin's creed 1
Game seems ok, but combat does look shockingly janky
Valhalla didnt have the archers taking down the bird
The combat doesn't look that fluid, compared to Ezio Trilogy. Let's see.
Ezio Trilogy used the Batman Arkham series combat. This is more Souls like.
@@JustFeral I know but even compared to Valhalla the animations/impact lack something.
Combat is heavy stealth so you're gonna use the hidden blades, smoke bombs, your eagle to scout the area, throwing knives & the teleport skill. Yes you have a melee weapons but enemies are very hard to kill that way. So if you don't like sneaking around & killing ppl, skip it.
combat looks really really bad, no impact, no animations, i miss the amazing counter-attacks from assassin's creed 1 ONE !
@@JustFeralezio trilogy did not use arkham combat, that was ac 3 and blackflag
I've only played BF and Origins, both phenomenal. Only care about AC when it comes to locations that tickle my aesthetic interest. This game is 100% bait for me and I'm all in.
I'm slowly playing through the Assasins Creed games at the moment (Played a few of them before). Currently playing AC2. Story is like something from a B movie, comes off a bit goofy at times but loosely following the history of the period is fairly interesting. I'm not sure if it's just me getting older, the game showing its age or the gameplay feeling a bit generic, but I'm not loving it and I can't put my finger on exactly why.
Huber! Try out AC Unity on PC with mods and fixes! You’ll probably love it!
Lmfao I know suffer skyrim syndrome installing random mods fine tuning it and not wanting to bother playing lmfaoooo put a good 200 hours in since the fixes
this is cool but is this game story depended on playing the others or does it make me feel pressured to play the others or bad that i missed the others. I much rather a standalone story without the baggage of previous assassin games
Is it anything like AC2, brotherhood or Revelations ?
I'm a fan of the original early games but this feels like Ubisoft phoning it with a nostalgia cash grab. Nothing about this feels like an evolution in the formula and we're talking 15 year old games at this point.
Perfect!
100% agreed. There doednt seem to be anything here that would suggest that Mirage is in any way step forward for the franchise but step back to very basics. It doesnt seem they even tried to do something different or new or exciting in more smaller scope. You would have thought that after so many years since the last "traditional" AC, they would have been able to come up with something new ideas but no.
I understand that not everyone liked Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla and after 3 huge open world games and less parkouring it was perhaps good idea to do more traditional AC game but there was damn good reason Ubisoft had to "soft reboot" the franchise with Origins, because the franchise had gone so stale but there is nothing in Mirage that would suggest that they have tried to think of solutions to that issue now that its back to its roots. They probably just think "but this is exactly what ppl wanted, so let's go back to 2007", but this just isnt gonna work for me and so many others. From all the big releases of 2nd half of 2023, Mirage looks like the least interesting in my opinion
Combat tip. Smoke bomb & hidden blade
there is basically no animation for the enemies when they get hit. Makes the combat feels very stiff and unresponsive.
Desmond miles. I miss Desmond and Altaïr.
As much as I like Odyssey but the last true AC for me was Unity.
Still inherits that last-gen jank I see.
It's a last gen game. (yes literally it's releasing on Xbone and PS4)
"Do you think we need luck?"
Bird: yes
Shade😩
Looks solid. I'll get it on sale on Black Friday.
Essentially Ghost of Tsushima combat mechanism
AC is back!
I dont know, to me this actually looks disappointing. Yes if you were not fan of the massive open worlds with less parkouring that was the design choice from Origins onwards then maybe you feel reason to be excited but even compared to something like 2014's AC Unity, this just looks disappointing. It looks decent, dont get me wrong but there is nothing here that would get me really excited. It reminds most of all the original Assassins Creed but the combat actually looks weaker and visually it clearly looks like cross gen game (and that it is ofc)not the next gen push...even so I would have expected visually more impressive game considering the scope is smaller this time around and somehow visually this looks disappointing even compared to previous 3 games.
So ye I guess if all you wanted was AC to return to its roots, thats more or less what you are gonna get and if its enough to get you excited, great. But to me this looks overall quite disappointing. I dont see anything here that previous Assassins Creed games wouldn't have already done, nothing to get me excited about it
@@BalnazzardiAdmit it, you haven't been excited or even happy about anything in a long time.
@@Largentina. true, but thats because in 25 years of gaming Ive seen pretty much it all. But every now and then there are games that I feel excited about and Baldur's Gate 3 for example is one of those games. But most games these days are " ok/decent, but wont play again or even remember fondly"...and Assassins Creed Mirage seems exactly like that, I see nothing about the game that I would get excited about
@@Balnazzardi I've been gaming for 42 years and I've seen all you've seen and more. But I guess I just choose to have a more positive outlook in general. Especially towards my entertainment.
@@Largentina. dont get me wrong, I think there are plenty of good/decent games released every year, Im not one of those gamers who say everything is garbage these days. But I just cant excited about most games these days as they just dont seem that excited or interesting for me. Thats why I mostly play just older games from my massive backlog but Baldur's Gate 3 is exactly the kind of game I would rather play sooner, rathet than later and same goes to for example Jagged Alliance 3.
But for example AC mirage to me looks like yet just another AC game without anything there I would make me feel excited, it looks like 7/10 or 8/10 at best but nothing more and I feel like that about most big triple A productions these days
how come they aren't using unity parkour?
and that combat looks weak
cant wait!
Doubt this will score over 7
I have the same feeling. It doesnt just feel like the next big push forward that AC would need but more like "side project" and visually you can tell its cross gen game but even so you would have expected the game look bit better visually since the scope is smaller this time.
im excited , i been holding off on valhalla
Par for the kours
The last AC game I bought was Black Flag. I never liked the RPG-ification of the series. Damage sponge enemies make no sense in game about stealth and assassination.
Well it was pretty much reboot of the series, something the franchise quite clearly needed at that point. Ofc not everyone was going to like it but Origins and Odyssey both did significantly better in sales/popularity than the previous couple of AC games before them
@@Balnazzardi I stopped playing Origins after cheesing the first target, because all of his guards were OP, then traveling 15 mins to Alexandria just to be given a mission to slowly walk thru the city. I stopped playing Odyssey around lvl 25 because the lvl gap got so wide that main story enemies stopped taking damage.
Praise the Lord the new AC isn't a 100 hour RPG. Day one purchase for me for that reason alone
Hopefully way better than Valhalla
Valhalla has already beat the tits off Mirage.

It looks like Origins. Also, the fact that it comes at such a cheap price from Ubisoft of all studios, and it being originally a DLC for Valhalla... I dunno man
This is a nice new skin.
EA without Huber is nothing.
Looks like every other assassins creed, but if they nail the length I’m down. Really like Valhalla but it’s way too big.
If you're bird 🐦 goes down you have to take down the archer 🏹 shooting at it will come back
How sad Is It that they didn't give stealthgamer BR the opportunity to play? Lol, his gameplay would make Sales skyrocket 🤷♀️
I don't know... These days, i just do not want to support companies such as Ubisoft, EA, Blizzard,
Been missing out on a few good EA games if that's the case.
Dead space and Star Wars Jedi Survivor are the ones I could have picked up but ea.. @@ramerster3000
EA makes great singleplayer games
Oh man, this actually looks disappointing? I expected some actual effort put into the mechanics, but it really looks like a sloppy makeshift mod made in the modern games. I expected actual mechanics designed for the game rather than just slapping a flash of colour over the enemies to indicate you need to dodge or parry. And health bars and spongey hack 'n' slash still? In stealth? Ugh. The combat looks jankier than ever too.
I agree, to me it just doesnt seem that impressive in anything. Visually it somehow looks disappointing even compared to previous AC games even though the scope is smaller, combat looks quite weak as you said and otherwise it just doesnt seem to do anything that previous AC games before Origins wouldn't have already done but better back then than what we see here.
Honestly based on this the only reason to get really excited about this, if you are die hard fan of AC games before Origins and was waiting all these years just for another "traditional" AC experience. But to me it seems Ubisoft hasnt done anything here to really make a push forward, rather than just to answer to the desperate cry of those Assassins Creed fans who were not happy with the direction the series took from Origins forward
It never left, with the right build of course but cool the focus they going for. Sad the gender choice is gone for this one, I actually prefer the rpg ones so keen that its still in effect for Red I hear, but I'd be down with them alternating classic and rpg.
It looks so low budget...
Combat seems boring.
This guy sounds like he got brainwashed by Ubisoft
The game looks... boring tbh.
Algo
It looks like a mobile game.
Ahhh yes original AC gameplay. The most mid gameplay ever. At best.
I think this is even worse than that....even compared to combat of original Assassins Creed from 2007 this looked worse than that. Honestly I see nothing to get excited about this game. The combat looks boring, the gamplay otherwise seems to offer nothing we havent seen thousand times before from Assassins Creed and no visual improvements either (which was to be expected as for some reason Ubisoft still wanted this to be a cross-gen game). Overall I see nothing here to get excited about, but I guess for those hardcore oldschool AC fans who just the same old experiencing before Origins came and changed the format, they might be the only ones feeling satisfied by this, but to me this just looks so bland.
This isn't even what the hardcore fans wanted because once again Ubisoft is trying to appeal to both audiences. This wouldn't be a bad thing but the gameplay suffers from the decisions ubi made. Do you really think hardcore fans wanted this game to be on Valhalla's engine no because of the engine threes no depth to mechanics such as parkour and to a degree combat also. We aren't getting a faithful "return to roots" And you guys are still getting ac red next year as a rpg. Which isn't fair imo because feudal Japan has been the most requested setting since Ac1 and the new rpg players are getting it. Put yourself in the shoes of those that have been waiting 10 plus years and maybe you'd understand the frustration@@Balnazzardi
Haha, wow, how much money did you get for this? Yeah, a classic AC is gonna be refreshing once again..but lets be honest, they are sellin' something based on an old formula with a new coat of paint. This is the FC 24 of the ac games.. madden, fifa(FC) and NHL all do this, taketh features/gameplay, then several years later, giveth back and everyone is like.. OMG THIS IS INSAAANE. Good job getting fooled haha.
10 million bucks. Satisfeito?
His opinion comes from him actually playing the game, yours comes from nothing. His holds more value than whatever this mess of an insult is.
