I've run all the big mountains out West, Donner pass, cabbage, grapevine, forth of July, ash fork back in the 80's with my Pete. Mt. Eagle is the only mountain I ever smoked my breaks. It was 2:00am, dark and never been on that hill before. I must say, scared the day lights out of me. I had 11lbs of air on the breaks just over the top. What a ride!
I think the headcam is kinda cool, gives a real drivers viewpoint. Beautiful long hood sir. Hope to be over at LS soon also and maybe see you out there somewheres.
Trucking with Selena I think making the move to Landstar would be a excellent way to kick off the new year, I wish you the best with it, Merry Christmas 🎄
Trucking with Selena yes that’s my own authority, I still say Landstar is the best of the best if your going to lease on somewhere, it’s a great outfit, and the right step to take in the steps of life, depending on how many steps you intend on climbing, some people like the ground floor, others like the view from the top floor, Landstar is the best staircase for learning the steps, yes I have a date with Palm trees, see ya!
a recent sub here since i can no longer drive due to loss of a limb etc, but i drove for a period with kllm out of jackson tn. anyhoo i digress, even though it can be a bit dizzying, i like th ehelmet cam idea because we see what you are looking at when youre looking at it. WHILE you are looking at it. we see it as if we were in the drivers seat. BTW beautiful truck sir. your office is a work of art. i rode monteagle on a bicycle a decade ago. as part of a charity ride.. got to nearly 55mph. a tad scary but fwiw fun. tbh i prefer driving it better than cycling.drive safe my friend. hope to see many more videos. have a blessed day sir.
I enjoy watching your videos very impressed the way you keep your outfit looking good I used to be a meet holler remember those days with the big large cars are used to run along with the Monfort meat Hollars I was in Hawaii about 10 years ago very beautiful I hope you enjoyed your vacation
Thank you for going back to the head cam. Awesome truck, dashboard, view, etc.. I feel like I'm driving again, I checkin the mirrors for you. Merry Christmas!!!
When I was a trainee, my first mountain was Fancy Gap. Talk about a little nervous, but my Trainer was great! My next run was Fancy Gap, the other direction, handled it much better. Did as was told, not to keep touching the brakes. Let the gear ratios handle it, and yes, I did do 25 mph downgrade with the hazards on. Safety said if I was given a ticket, he'd pay that AND get me a steak dinner for following the Company rules. Great video!
in that cold winter of 83/84, one of the pull cord drain valves froze and broke off coming down the east side of Monteagle...I got stopped real quick before the maxi's locked up...luckily I had tools, and the original petcocks, that came on the Freightliner COE...
Good video. A lot of lessons to be learned. Glad you showed the limits on monteagle per your weight because a lot drivers don’t see that sign and a few bears be off to side watching us truck drivers so much appreciated for that and definitely these new age trucks can do a lot of things the old trucks can’t. Glad I subscribed to your channel I really the videos you put up and next year I’m starting my own channel.
I like the head cam. It is very similar to a style of cinema work they use on some tv shows and action movies so the viewer feels like they are there w you. enjoy your videos sir. Thank you.
That there is a very, nice truck I'm stuck driving a freightliner Cascadia Rollin 65 occasionally 80 for now til I can buy me one of these bad boys shout out from Norcross Georgia to Compton California
back in 83/84, I used to stop at a little home cooking restaurant, about a 1/2 mile past the truckstop, that had room for a few trucks...very good cobbler, too...
Drop on down to Al near the Tennessee river and you have made it to my home area, nice to see you rolling close. Drive safe brother and i like seeing the head cam back. :) Happy holidays.
Merry Christmas Life is Good, The way I look at it it's your truck, your safety, your responsibility, if anything happens it's on you, drive it your way. For example when I'm at a light turning left, I turn when I think it's safe because if something happens it's me in the accident, so the guy behind me can get as pissed off as much as he wants, he's just gonna have to wait. By the way like your videos and vlog style.
Tim, always enjoy your videos. As an X PACCAR employee (albeit in IT) I love to see the trucks we produced on the road. I think I've said it before, but it was always a special day when I had to go across the street in Renton to the KW plant. Got a chuckle out of the Dumbo Ears on the RAM. I've got a '16 Power Wagon, and I never run with them flip'd. Actually I get irritated because I always forget to flip them when I do tow. ;-) And believe it or not, that 6.4 Hemi does real well even here in AZ. Hope HI is great, and next time, go to Maui. I'll give you some cost saving tips! Peace from Flagstaff!
Hey I love the ramblings as you said....lol.....Thank you for taking the time to put these video's together.......Your subscribers appreciate it and learning new things from a REAL DRIVER!!!
My Cat twin turbo has a great engine brake. I’ve never drove one with a X15 so I really don’t know how it compares but I pull a dump trailer and I’m always 80,000 or more and have no complaints.
I was hoping you were gonna say shut up stupid, I wouldve been rolling on the floor. When i first started long haul doing refer 21yrs ago I was on a dedicated run hauling Tyson chicken and ran monteagle every trip. Used to see guys smoke there brakes every time I went down it.
"Some College Kid I Guess" ROFL ain't that the truth. All these smart fuckers, making the world a better place; one bight idea at a time. "Men in Denim Built this Country, Men in Suits Destroyed it" Biggest waste of time in my life, was University (and working in an officer after graduation). Glad I drive trucks now.
BigHoss P&R welcome to trucking, glad you have the education, this is my office with an ever changing view, I’m running it with a high school education, really wish I had gotten a business degree or something with a computer background, but I’m surviving.
Don’t worry about the guys critiquing your driving there’s a reason they are sitting at home behind a computer screen and your sitting behind the wheel of your very own 2018 Pete. If they are so fond of the old trucks have them go by one and start driving again
Let it be said you are correct about Fancy Gap. You can let it Roll. Even though she does demand Respect for sure. I Respect you Great Driving skills, you are a Very good Driver, and not a steering wheel holder either. I really enjoy your videos and giving the idiots on the road a piece of your mind. We all do it. Truck looks great, Driver is cool too. So I enjoyed the Video and don't speed any more ok.......Be a Good Truck Driver. Have a Safe one and keep the shinney side up. Happy Trails......
It would be cool to see a mix of the head cam and the dash cam. I'm sure it would add more edit time, but I like the head cam too much and was bummed when you went to straight dash cam. BUT, do what works for you. Thanks for the vids. Even as someone who will never be a trucker, I enjoy them!
Tim what size is your drop visor? Curious about your truck specs..?... I'm working on a spec with the X15 Efficiency 500/1850@1000rpm motor on 2.85 rears w/22.5s, 18spd double over
Ya know the light's down the side of your truck really look good in the mirror's. An your not grumpy Man It's just Normal traffic on 24 they don't know what common courtesy is everyone need's to get somewhere and they had to be there 2 second's ago so they run all over the Guy's that actually follow the speed limit and such. But 24 is just like 75 and a lot of the other 2 lane interstate's in this state In Major need of a reworking to be 3 lane 24 and 75 badly need them. But stay safe and have a good holiday.
Marcus Tillman why so he can get a ticket. Non factory tint laws vary by state. It will be impossible to meet every states requirements . Especially since several states ban all tint
Sir Tim !! Nashville is only good to go thru at 0200 in am with the drunks on the road !!!! Monteagle aint nothing today like it was back in the good "ol days !! They have knocked alot out of the cuts to improve the curves !! KEEP IT SAFE !!
Brown... There's your problem. They're out of Atlanta where I run and every one of their drivers I've ever interacted with has been an aggressive SuperTrucker jackass. I had one waving a baseball bat at me a few years ago for not moving fast enough.
hey do you guys use the retarder over there in america? i play euro truck simulator and american truck simulator and i only see americans use the jack brakes in videos good vid as always tim, catch ya later!
First is MC# and DOT#, insurance and then Cab card and IFTA from your home state. Also need to register in KY for kyu# and NM wd tax#, don't go to NY and you won't need to register there.

No personal problem here Mr, I just don't always like to eat shit that people wants me to eat, you know whatta mean? but you and lil'Paw can go ahead N eat It..
The guys that were giving you crap about Fancy Gap are just jealous of you and your nice truck!
And they can't downshift going downhill (or at all) lol.
You sir a true old time professional, wish all those cowboys just relax a bit, would be a much better and safer industry💯
I've run all the big mountains out West, Donner pass, cabbage, grapevine, forth of July, ash fork back in the 80's with my Pete. Mt. Eagle is the only mountain I ever smoked my breaks. That X15 is a lot better than having to get out and drag your feet like the "Bandit" did when he went down Monteagle.
Jason yes this X-15 is a beast
I think the headcam is kinda cool, gives a real drivers viewpoint. Beautiful long hood sir. Hope to be over at LS soon also and maybe see you out there somewheres.
Trucking with Selena I think making the move to Landstar would be a excellent way to kick off the new year, I wish you the best with it, Merry Christmas 🎄
Life is Good. Thanks, have fun decorating your palm tree in Hawaii, just saw your name change to your own authority I'm guessing? Congrats on that.

I really love the headcam, it feels way more if I was in the truck with you or even driving it ! Very nice
Boy that stop & go crap is 1 thing I don't miss about truckin. I miss the traveling but not all the headache that goes along with it.
Headcam is great! When I enter dusty situations, I shut all fans off.
Out west we call that a Hill , HaHa , Merry Christmas Driver !
I enjoy watching your videos very impressed the way you keep your outfit looking good I used to be a meet holler remember those days with the big large cars are used to run along with the Monfort meat Hollars I was in Hawaii about 10 years ago very beautiful I hope you enjoyed your vacation
I love how guys are still using the CBs. I always use mine when hauling cattle. Love talking to the box boys.
Thank you for going back to the head cam. Awesome truck, dashboard, view, etc.. I feel like I'm driving again, I checkin the mirrors for you. Merry Christmas!!!

Keep your truck beautiful .

dave s I’ve had snow get packed on top of the tanks and pull the cables, Yes you find a spot really quick

Troy Flanagan Thanks for joining in with the idiotic ramblings and congratulations on starting your own channel, I wish you the best on it.
I've always thought the same about the junctions of 24 and 40
Chad Keasling crazy isn’t it
I drive through there daily as the company I drive for is near the split; but that and the 65/40 split on the Southside are just plain horrible.
I like the head cam. It is very similar to a style of cinema work they use on some tv shows and action movies so the viewer feels like they are there w you. enjoy your videos sir. Thank you.
That there is a very, nice truck I'm stuck driving a freightliner Cascadia Rollin 65 occasionally 80 for now til I can buy me one of these bad boys shout out from Norcross Georgia to Compton California
davidh5120 I use to live on pleasent hill Rd, too much traffic for me I stay in Covington GA now
back in 83/84, I used to stop at a little home cooking restaurant, about a 1/2 mile past the truckstop, that had room for a few trucks...very good cobbler, too...
Beautiful truck. I drove for C.R England from 1995 to 2013. Had to retire cause I was diagnosed with cancer
Nice driving , that X15 is one cool engine , all engines love clean air filters and fuel filters , have good Christmas brake
Have a great vacation, you deserve it. Happy Holidays, vatch you next year!
Abe Ash thanks, Merry Christmas 🎄
Drop on down to Al near the Tennessee river and you have made it to my home area, nice to see you rolling close. Drive safe brother and i like seeing the head cam back. :) Happy holidays.

Joshua Mack the Pete is doing all the work, I’m just doing my idiotic ramblings

david schabel Thank you and a very Merry Christmas to you
I hope we get to see the filters being changed.
Sam O really? I guess I could capture it, if I think about it
I hope next year I’ll be able to be an owner OP. Great videos, head cam is cool!
I like the headcam!
You should be in Hawaii by now #ENJOY YOUR TRIP #L.G #CANT WAIT TO SEE THE NEW LIGHTS
I thought that white Volvo might've been me, but it wasn't.
Back in the day years ago I would go down that mountain and a freight truck for Gateway Transportation so that's how old I am
My Cat twin turbo has a great engine brake. I’ve never drove one with a X15 so I really don’t know how it compares but I pull a dump trailer and I’m always 80,000 or more and have no complaints.
All the best for Christmas & 2018 from down under Tim 😎
Scimi 79 Thank you and Merry Christmas from 🇺🇸
The late 90's were bad years on Sandstone and Fancy gap . Nowadays the big reds takes care of East Coast hills, no sweat.

Grumpy ramblings..lol...great job..
My wife and I say the same thing about duallys with their towing mirrors out for no reason all the time. Drives us crazy!!
Senior Houdini
Keep the shiny metal on the truck
The Dash is looking nice and shiny.
preston suggs it’s getting there, a little bit at a time
its much better with headcam...we can see the dash and all the controls!)
That x15 is impressive
Downtown Nashville is backed all the time during daylight hours best to just hit Briley an avoid the bumper rubbers ! Stay safe driver
Don't worry 'bout being grumpy in the video....I also had a bad day filled with yelling and slamming doors 😂
Hell,,,,,, my wife hit me twice today and kicked my Dog!
Don’t worry about the guys critiquing your driving there’s a reason they are sitting at home behind a computer screen and your sitting behind the wheel of your very own 2018 Pete. If they are so fond of the old trucks have them go by one and start driving again
keep up the good videos merry Christmas
How does one suppose to properly go down a mountain or hill? Do you use your jake break and hit a lower gear driving an Automatic rig?
Nice to hear tight shifting
Let it be said you are correct about Fancy Gap. You can let it Roll. Even though she does demand Respect for sure. I'm beginning to change my mind on that Cummins. I thought you should have bought a glider, not any more.

Curious about your truck specs..?... I'm working on a spec with the X15 Efficiency 500/1850@1000rpm motor on 2.85 rears w/22.5s, 18spd double over
There’s a big difference when you’re pay a truck mortgage. Your driving style and your thinking changes. 10-4
Whatcha using for a headcam ? Great vid BTW !
Ya know the light's down the side of your truck really look good in the mirror's. Hi, which gps do you use? It seems a Garmin to me....right?
aormnc yes it’s garmin
Brown... There's your problem. They're out of Atlanta where I run and every one of their drivers I've ever interacted with has been an aggressive SuperTrucker jackass. I had one waving a baseball bat at me a few years ago for not moving fast enough.
Matt_Waddy crazy world we live in these days
Doesn't your truck have air filter restriction indicators? If not you may wish to add them. Often a clean looking filter can be restrictive.
Mr42960 it does, but those things are crap, new air filters will not hurt it or my wallet, I believe in preventive maintenance
I did not mean to imply that you were wasting resources. That is a lot of miles on the dirty streets.
You're going to keep on until you become a chicken hauler!
Billy Ray 🐥 🚛 💨 💨
Been there numerous times!
2 at a time driver - 2at a time
I like the headcam view better
Hey, you forgot to say thank you to the driver that flashed you when you passed. ;)
TwurkRR are you sure, my switch is on the turn signal switch, you just push the button and it will turn them off or on if they are off.
Yes I know where the switch is but I didn't see your instrument panel lights dim unless the new Petes don't do that anymore.
Haha when in doubt mirrors out..
Not a big fan of the head cam but that's OK you'll probably change up now and then, stay safe.
Rod Parkinson yes I have to mix it up, majority like the head cam
Is this an Cummins ISX ?
uxot no it’s the 3rd generation Cummins, called Cummins X-15, lots of changes
I wanna learn to drive a truck.
hey do you guys use the retarder over there in america? i play euro truck simulator and american truck simulator and i only see americans use the jack brakes in videos
good vid as always tim, catch ya later!
Tim, do you have disc breaks all the way around or just the steer axel?
Mike Brown all the way around
Would you do disc brakes on the rear again? I've heard good things. Years ago they introduced disc brakes but they didn't catch on.
Mike Brown I don’t see why not, but I’ve only got 97,000 miles on it and haven’t had to touch them yet
if I had that big petercar I would blow browns doors off down the road when I got to the bottom of mt eagle
Did you see any of the fires in California
What kind of cb radio do you have
A&A Vlogs currently what’s in it, is the factory corba 29, I’ve had it tuned a little, going to eventually put my general lee in it.
Life is Good. Thank you!
How did they get your weight?
Douglass Wilkin they didn’t, I know my empty weight and the weight of my load, add the two together and there you go
You should change them every 6 month
You should do some live videos
why did you quit landstar???
I speculate it is because he got his own authority and gets all the money instead of giving it to any company he drives for.
He didn't
If you read the comments, He wrote that he quit Landstar when he went on vacation. He also wrote he got his own authority.
Wow, never saw that, thanks.
How hard is it to obtain your own authority what is the process where is the process start
preston suggs hopefully producing a video on that soon
First is MC# and DOT#, insurance and then Cab card and IFTA from your home state. Also need to register in KY for kyu# and NM wd tax#, don't go to NY and you won't need to register there.
Allan McCullough . Thank you for the reply. I’ve heard a lot of good things and a lot of bad things. Just trying to get as much information as I can.
If you can do bookkeeping and have good communication skills it is very doable. Knowledge of maintaining equipment is pretty important too in my opinion. Plenty of cash to purchase insurance in advance for the year and fuel for 30 days at least are a must. When you let it be known to shippers and brokers that you need quick pay and all that crap, you are looked at by them as prey.
You shouldn't be grumpy your going to Hawaii
Chris Fekete that’s right, should be a fantastic vacation, Merry Christmas 🎄
Those extended mirrors suck especially from asswipes that don't close them when they are parked, that's how it broke my passenger mirror
hey let me run it for you while ur taking time off

lil'paw, I just knew you wouldn't get my message, I'm Done watching N replying to a Dead Horse...
