I never knew about this band until this Amoeba video, and after seeing it I immediately listened to them on Spotify then bought concert tix to see them next month here in Stockholm, Sweden!

Crazy timing! I just got into Death Valley Girls yesterday thanks to the shoutout in the Allah Las Whats in My Bag episode... sweet!
“Standing on the shoulders of giants”... DVG has a great sound and I love how here and in other interviews they readily acknowledge their influences, some of who you hear shadowed in their performance. The dominant force, however, is their wholly original lyrical and musical prowess that drives recordings such as Darkness Rains. Highly recommend that you check out their catalogue and a live show if you are fortunate enough to reside in proximity to their ongoing international rock n roll hurricane.
I just want to give Bonnie a hug. She seems so nice and friendly. They all picked some interesting stuff, too.

Petri Rantanen I never heard of them until this video either, but instantly loved their music and was so happy to see they will be in Stockholm for the first time ever next month! (I bought tickets of course.) Maybe they’ll head next door to Finland as well.

The funny things is it wasn't very successful, but it launched a whole bunch of talents. Janeane Garafalow, Bob Odenkirk and Andy Dick were all stars, and David Cross and Judd Apatow were writers on the show.
Yeah, back when Janeane Garofalo was cute and likeable, instead of the po-faced feminist harpy she is today.
