Standard Japanese is already 10x more polite than most languages around the world, so Keigo feels super extra polite.😊

Watching in 2024.. This is such a good video to help with reviewing. The clips from the shows really help me with retaining these vs just reading from a textbook. You have an effective teaching style. Thanks so much for this!

I keep forgetting to use irasshaimasu instead of imasu. XD Fun video! I also laughed because I didn't know how to say "make time" but it's very literally just... make time.

      どういたしまして!
Glad to hear you found it helpful :) That last drama (ルパンの娘) is definitely a gem! It's about the forbidden love between a thief and a police officer, and it makes fun of a lot of typical TV tropes in hilarious ways ^^

Hi I am working as Japanese translator in IT company. most of the time I need to translate answers from my technical team to customers and it has to be in a polite way, so do you know any translator that actually does this work ? thank you.

In the last example why dosen't the mother say 帰って参っておりません? Isn't the kenjyougo of kuru mairu? Why only replace the iru with oru? Shouldnt kuru also become mairu?

The situation is probably simply not so formal as to require that humble of an expression. Theoretically, if you wanted to make the sentence as humble as possible, you could say something like: "まだお暇致して参っておりません" but that might be a bit unnecessarily humble, given the situation.
