@@nblucas I’ve been to one of his concerts and he never lip syncs. He can project his voice very well. No need to hate on him, he just has a brilliant voice
@@nblucas 1:27 look at how his voice gets louder as he puts his mic closer to his mouth. ALSO WHY WOULD YOU NEED TO LIPSYNC THIS SONG THIS IS QUITE FRANKLY A PRETTY EASY SONG TO SING AND VERY HARD TO TRULY MESS UP
@@lieutenantnoodles138 you really think he would've taken the time to record a pre-recorded one-take backtrack with lots of breaths and parts that are slightly off pitch to lip sync over? Lol NO!
Come on...with or without lip syncing, it's Michael Buble! It's his voice regardless! He is an icon and if you let that hinder you from listening to him...hmm, your loss!!
I think I should make it entirely clear that i think Buble is a really good singer and he certainly has 'it' . You only have to see the faces of the (mostly female!) audience members to see he is a very charismatic performer and he definitely can sing fine live. All I'm saying is if he really CAN do what he does at 3.17 here totally live without the help of a backing track then he's unique as far as I'm concerned as I haven't seen anyone else do that.
4 days since my post and no Buble fan has the guts to explain 3.17 and 3.27?? Speaks volumes... PS Sazzygirlo7 - 'His voice is too powerful for normal micrphones???' LOL. Good God, no wonder Buble is making a mint with fans like you, lol.
Haha, you may think that he was lipsyncing because the perform was so perfect. But if you're his fan, you'll know that he is always perfectly live and especially, he likes to play with the micro. Or if you don't trust him yet, I'll show that in 0:46 and 1:29, he breathed in very loud and in 1:58, the "keep" was broken (I don't know the exact word) in the micro. But that's not all, you can notice many parts that he was out of breath and can not lengthen the sentence enough.
He did not mine, and NO auto tune was used. fact... he changed the key of the song as he was not well and was on holiday recovering but flew in to do this performance, if you listen closely you can hear him struggle for some of his normal high notes. lay off people, you cant and never will be as good as him, so sit in your sad houses. and keep dreaming,
When asked if he would mime on any TV show Buble hit back. “Absolutely not. I never have, never in my life. I have mimed for videos but never have I mimed for a live TV show.
@timlawsmusic I've just checked your 'channel' and it appears you are also a swing singer with an album out next year but no YT uploads of your live performances? Maybe you can upload one where you are using the same mic technique as Buble at 3.17 for us to judge just how feasible it is?
@TheTommyTaylor Well it's higly unlikely to find an EXACT video on youtube of him doing the EXACT same thing as he does at 3.17 but if you do just watch him singing without a microphone at all then you'd see how much his voice carries and that it is perfectly possible for the sound to be picked up when he's got his head turned :)
@TheTommyTaylor Go and have a look at him singing Maroon 5 -This Love on his Caught In The Act DVD, at the end he sings a lot when the mic is either not by his mouth or when his head is turned to the side. You can still here him as his voice is so powerful. And find a video where he sings Song For You live (there's one on my uploads) and at the end he sings without a microphone and he can be heard all over massive arenas!
@PollyMaxted He isn't miming, he always sings like that. He has this great awkwardness when he performs and he always has his mic a little bit far. He even admitted he changed the key of the song here cos he wasn't feeling well. If he was miming, don't you think he would've "mimed" in the normal key?
He wasn't miming, his voice is too powerful for normal microphones, that is why he has to hold it far away from his mouth when he sings so he does not break it ;)
You see, Buble can (technically correctly) claim he wasn't miming here, you know. Many artists now sing live OVER a pre-recorded 'live sounding' recording specially recorded to make it different to the single/album version. Loads do it but as they are still using a live mike and 'singing' then they can claim to have not mimed/sung live. Seems to have duped ppl I have a feeling that's what is happening here. There are clear clues that he's having some some of electronic/pre-recorded help here.
@alissaaa1202 Have you changed your post? Because on my email notification of your reply you have written: 'Actually there are MANY examples of when he sings with his microphone far away from his mouth and it still sounds clear and loud - that's due to a brilliant voice, not miming skills. He can even sing very loud without a mic. If you want proof of that, go see him in concert.' ???? OK, let's have a link to where he sings LIVE in concert with his mike like he has at 3.17 here.
@TheTommyTaylor You just need to ask anyone who's heard him live and they'll be able to tell you that he doesn't need to mime and that he can still be heard even when his head is turned away from the microphone or when he isn't even using one.
@lolila76 And what does he say to the crowd before he sings this without a mike? Shhhh...the crowd in this clip are going mad. Like I have said before, link me to a LIVE (not TV) performance where he has the microphone where he has it at 3.17 and i will apologise. It's not like I haven't asked for this before but not one link has emerged. Why? There's thousands of clips of him in concert.
I feel like whoever does the sound for the xfactor isn't the best, whenever he's on the xfactor he's always quite pitchy. Also he's really clipping the ends of phrases to get a breath, I wonder if that's just because this song is more demanding than the standards
Micheal Buble has hit out at accusations that he mimed on this weekends X Factor. The singer sang his new song “Hollywood” and due to the microphone presence, many online bloggers and gossip sites and fans on social networking sites believed he was miming.
@timlawsmusic Are you a politician? You've ignored 99% of my post, lol. I'm assuming you use the same mic as Buble and also employ his 'mic technique' so let's see you doing what he did at 3.17. You're a performer, why the reticence to 'strut your stuff'? And how about my other challenge? Link me to a live CONCERT performance (not TV) where he uses the mike like he does here, i.e. facing the opposite direction & at least a metre away from his mouth. Put up or shut up time, I feel.
At 3.17 he's singing in the opposite direction to the mike and his voice is still blaring out, lol. At 3.27 he's actually singing out of his left ear and, yes, his voice is again blaring out. Hmmm. Discuss...
Now the Canadian star has told BBC Radio 1 that it is all rubbish. “Did they not listen to me I was flat and out of breath. I had to go down a key because I was sick and couldn’t hit the notes. If I was going to lip synch wouldn’t I just do it to my recording.”
@alissaaa1202 That's a no, then, lol. I'll keep looking. Thanks for all your help. PS i never asked for an EXACT match, I think that's a condition you've added to try and mitigate your failure here. Surely there's one where he's looking in the opposite direction to the mike and at least arm's length away? No?
@alissaaa1202 Like I said, link me to one of these LIVE concerts (not DVD releases) where he does as you say (i.e. what he does here at 3.17) and I will apologise. Your reluctance to do this is puzzling/telling. I can't see what the problem is, from what you are suggesting you tube must be awash with such happenings, so go for it. Not interested in DVD footage as the vast majority of artists' live dvd footage is manipulated in the studio. Like (reportedly) An Audience with..
@timlawsmusic Hmmmmm......so if that case why doesn't it pick up the extraneous noise from the rest of the stage area? I never have claimed this performance was totally mimed/lip sync'd, my argument has always been that he sang 'live' over a pre-recorded 'live sounding' backing track. Are you also refuting that claim? A challenge: link me to a live CONCERT performance (not TV) where he uses the mike like he does here, i.e. facing the opposite direction & at least a metre away from his mouth.
@KaylieSmitty09 Canadian people are usually awesome. And NO I'm not talking about the bieber boy, I don't like him. I'm talking about Buble and Lavigne.
He'll never miming in a show ...he has a great voice for every kind of music !
There is no way that is lip synced, he is just amazing live he sounds no different, great singer, he's amazing, top class!
Literally look at where the mic is, he can be facing away and the volume is the same, that's is impossible basically unless he is lipsynced

no, thats not how a mic works
