Batman: Arkham Knight is a 2015 action-adventure game developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Based on the DC Comics superhero Batman, it is the successor to the 2013 video game Batman: Arkham Origins, and the fourth main installment in the Batman: Arkham series. Written by Sefton Hill, Ian Ball and Martin Lancaster, Arkham Knight is inspired by the long-running comic book mythos. Set nine months after the events of 2011's Batman: Arkham City, the game's main storyline follows Batman as he confronts Scarecrow, who has launched an attack on Gotham City, causing a citywide evacuation. Scarecrow, with the help of the mysterious Arkham Knight, is also able to unite Batman's greatest foes in an attempt to finally destroy Batman.
The game is presented from a third-person perspective, with a primary focus on Batman's melee combat, stealth abilities, detective skills, and gadgets. Batman can freely move around the open world of Gotham City, interacting with characters and undertaking missions, and unlocking new areas by progressing through the main story or obtaining new equipment. The player is able to complete side missions away from the main story to unlock additional content and collectible items. Combat focuses on chaining attacks together against numerous foes while avoiding damage, while stealth allows Batman to conceal himself around an area, using gadgets and the environment to silently eliminate enemies. Arkham Knight introduces the Batmobile as a playable vehicle, which is used for transportation, puzzle solving and combat.

I heard there was a rumor once that there was going to be this Arkham game that took place after Origins but before Asylum. It would focus on Batman with a young Dick Grayson as Robin, and it would involve him and Joker having to form a temporary truce to deal with the Court of Owls lead by Owlman. Of course that idea was abandoned for Gothem Knights and Suicide Squad and we all know how those turned out.
Batman beyond (the game) also got canceled for those two messes.
@@arandomfan4710 I even had my own idea for a Arkham style Batman game set in the Batman Beyond setting called. Batman: Beyond Arkham. Where players play the role of Terry with an elder Bruce Wayne still guiding and mentoring him. It would be set in that Cyberpunk Arkham city and be about dealing with a rogue A.I. that's basically programed to think and believe it is the Joker (voiced again by Mark Hamill) and has all his memories and such and you be fighting the Joker Gang, classic villains and beyond villains, all using futuristic versions of Batman's gadgets plus some extra seen in the series like turning invisible and such. But this was my idea of how if I was in charge to do a Batman Beyond game set in the Arkham universe that be it. But well I don't work for them and I doubt they ever will make a Batman Beyond game like that.

@@omega-levelnightmares3763 It was a rumor I heard I can't confirm if this was the plan or not if this was legit real but I don't think it matters anymore since even if it was real I don't think they ever make it since they changed the idea to Gotham Knights which turned out crap and then there was the disrespectful Suicide Squad game. So even if it was a plan its dead and never happening.
That is just what it was a rumor. Pretty sure Matt Mcmuscles goes into the dev history between those two games.
