Dude, I stumbled across this somehow and blown away. You made this look like a weekend project wearing shorts and socks while building a seriously awesome walking! Great job and looks awesome!
You're such a good husband with skills. I wish my hubby can remodel my closet like that. I have to pay for someone to remodel my closet when I'm ready. You did an awesome job👏👏👏👏👏👏
Looks great! I really wish you'd done some instructions on HOW to do this. I have the carpentry skills, just need some help with understanding how you mounted it to the studs and the framing you did on the bottom. Overall, was great to see this. It gave me some idea on my own closet I'm working on.:)
@@PaulTranDIY I agree! Do you have instructions or a list of products you used? I love what you did - this looks great. We’ve watched a ton of videos and this is one of the best.
really really nice job. I moved from my home to a smaller home and the master bedroom closet is 3 feet wide. I am going to close in part of the bedroom to make a bigger closet. I am just at the beginning stage. Great job on your closet build. I am a woman and build my own everything..
This is going to sound crazy, but I’ve been watching a ton of videos just to find what to do with an angled corner like the one at 4:32 of your video. Thanks for the inspiration!
Very nice....I'm getting ready to to a walk-in and looking for ideas. I think also the mirror on a hinge would have been a great way to conceal items plus have storage. I like the way you made the bottom shelf up from the floor. Very stylish! And even though the floor is laminate, I like it better than carpet! Much easier to keep clean! The crown molding on the top really makes a nice tough! Thanks!
Hii i have a question, where did you get the shelves and drawers and everything to build this beautiful walk in closet and (if you dont mind me asking) how much did it cost you to build it??? I would really appreciate your reply Great job!
Wow! This is amazing. Been gathering enough courage to work on our closet. Your video kind a inspired me to jist do it! I hope it comes out as neat as yours.
Did you buy wood stock from your local hardware store then cut it to size? How did you ensure everything was sturdy ? I want to give this a try. Thanks for the encouragement ! God Bless .
Excluding floors probably ~1000-1500 I just can't remember the exact cost. I had lots of receipts but never added them up. It will really depend on the size of closet you are building too.
I just used Melamine board (there is a wide range in quality of white Melamine, if it easily peels off that is the cheap stuff, buy the one that is very tough to scratch) I used Caulking to fill in all the seams to make it look more professional. The Drawers were closetmaid from home depot.
This was my first ever remodel of any room or project and took maybe 40 hours or so, room size is 12 feet long and 10 feet wide (~120 sq ft roughly). Everything in total was around ~$2000 dollars (500 for floors and 1500 for all other closet materials).
@@aG-lc6su Yeah just for material. But it really depends on what size closet you have. Cost is high because its floor to ceiling, crown molding, and the 8 drawers were pretty pricey from what I can remember.
Since you didn't remove the baseboards when putting the new flooring in, how did you close up your gaps in the areas not covered up by the closet system?
There was actually a decent amount of gap between baseboard and floor and so I just slid the areas that I knew were not covered underneath. But majority of the closet the baseboard is hidden with the new closet boards. So I left a gap but did not need to do anything extra since it would be covered by the new build ins.
I don't think I am following. Like when you were in the mirror there was a part of the closet not covered by the closet boards. So is there just a gap there or, how was that gap covered? I'm asking because the house we are having built the flooring would be carpeted and lack any sort of shelving, so it is something I am thinking about doing.
Yeah so every house will be different. I was able to push my laminate boards underneath the baseboard without any difficulty. I only did this in the areas I knew were going to be exposed, and nothing was going to cover it. I did not push it all the way in until it hit the wall, but maybe .375" (half the depth of the baseboard). That way there is some room for expansion and contraction. Most people remove their baseboard first since they are unable to slide it under, or they leave it a small gap and use quarter rounds to hide the gap. Sorry a bit confusing to explain, hopefully that makes sense haha. Thanks for asking
Yeah, that's what i have done in my other flooring projects, but since the house will be fresh built, I wanted to see what others had done to hopefully avoid pulling them off and risk damaging them.
It was built from scratch just 8 feet boards cut to fit. The drawers were from closet maid though and I had to measure and attach them to fit. If you look closely you can see there are no pre-drill holes on the sides of the closet for attachments. If there is pre-drilled holes that is usually a indicator for a pre-made closet system.
Hi. Did you buy a kit to do the shelves or did you do them yourself? And if it's a kit, where did you get it? I'm wanting to redo my closet and yours is a lot like mine.

Great job just wondering why you had a mask at many intervals in the video. There was no wood dust or such from making the cabinets.

I'm curious to know the price it costs to purchase these DIY systems versus, say, a California Closet install. Does anyone know?
Were the width of those boards just the standard 12in or did you customize them yourself?

they were just laminate flooring but yeah very easy install for flooring. Costco has decent stuff too. I got mine at lumber liquidators

What is size of closet room? Dimensions?
