Glad you're back! I am wanting to put a custom closet in my walk-in closet. I need to figure out what I need as far as drawers and hanging space. But, this gave me some ideas to work with. Thanks!

He replied as I had the same question... "How did you attach the cabinets to the wall? I just used a pre drill bit and toenailed the top with a long screw into the studs in a couple of spots. This system is designed to sit on a toe kick. If this were a hanging type design and better fastening system would be needed.'
Zach, I am using TOMAX 12-Inch 100 Tooth ATB Fine Finish Saw Blade and there is still chipout while cutting 3/4 melamine board. Taping the edge too. Bad blade or something else? Please advise. Also the board tends to smoke while it is cut which I assume is not normal either.
I have read in a few places that melamine should not be screwed together as the core of the board isn't stable enough and that in time the screws can work themselves loose.
In the case, where you are screwing through the end of a piece of melamine in order to restrict, pulling away, I would agree. However, if the goal is only to reduce side to side movement, then I think using screws to do, this is perfectly OK.
What wood do I need exactly? I've been mapping out and almost obsessing over building my closet. Went to look at supplies and became overwhelmed about the wood. What kinds do I need?

Unfortunately, I built this closet from scratch using melamine boards purchased from Home Depot. This is more of a custom closet build, which is significantly more affordable than buying a already done for you system.
I do mention it briefly in the video, but these are just melamine boards purchased from Home Depot. The only pieces that I bought that are included in a traditional closet system are the drawers, and those are made by closet maid, and are also purchased from Home Depot.
