  • Hello there
This is another product review video for my channel.
And today I'll be talking about my first impressions on two products, the SSD disk and the USB to SATA cable adaptor that I have just purchased from eBay Australia in March 2023.
I have decided to buy these two products because my old laptop had been very sluggish taking over 4-5 minutes to initialise in both OS, Linux and Windows 10. Extremely annoying.
SSD drivers are known for better performance and faster speeds compared to HDD. The SSD can be found these days at affordable prices so I decided I would give it a go.
The drive I chose is the Crucial MX500 500GB capacity 2.5" 6MB/s made in Mexico and purchased in March 2023 from eBay Australia for about 62 Aussie dollars on sale.
The packaging of this product I chose contains 3-pieces:
    1- SSD DISK
2- Users manuals (English and other languages -but manual only has basic information and refer uses to their website)
3- plastic frame (to help fill in any gaps between the SSD and the space where it is installed inside the computer. to be used if wobbly).
Everything looks of average quality to me.
The device has a clean look and seems well protected from external sources by its hard case. It is light weight and contains information/specifications on the back.
The SATA to USB Cable also seems of good quality. One end is a SATA with 22pins and the other is a USB 3.0. On the SATA end there is a tiny blue light that indicates when it is in use.
The disk connects easily yet tight to the adaptor and my computer immediately recognised them with no problems.
Crucial recommends they own cloning software (Acronis) but I decided to use another one, the Macrium Reflect which is free to trial for 28 days and had better reviews.
The software was straightforward to use and all it required me was to select disk cloning feature then choose the old HD as source and the new SSD as destination. The rest is taken care by the software.
    IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:
This video is not intended to demonstrate the procedures of disk cloning or installation, neither of hardware and software. But instead is only a review of the two products I have bought.
Please note that this procedure requires intermediate to advanced computational skills and knowledge. Mistakes can lead to permanent data loss or file corruption that could affect the use of your device. It also requires manipulation of internal components of the computer that may contain electricity and therefore may pose risks of electric shock and damages to hardware, software and accessories.
Unless you're qualified, please leave this job for qualified and authorised technicians.
    Conclusion:
The products here described helped me to clone my HDD data into my SSD drive within a couple of hours, little investment and stress free.
As a result I achieved OS initialisation speeds 5x faster than before in my old laptop, which increased my productivity and extended the life of my laptop for another few years . All that for an investment of about 70aud. Much cheaper than buying a new laptop.
It was totally worth for my circumstances.
I hope you find this video useful.
    Disclaimer:
this video is not sponsored by the manufacturer or the seller of the products. It reflects my own opinion and impressions as an independent final user of the products in subject after unboxing and using them for the very first time.
Make your own conclusions. It is entirely up to you whether you should purchase and use one or bothe of them or not. And if you do so, please read and follow the user's manual instructions and directions.
thank you and see ya. ;)

You really want to upgrade memory that is what really controls speed of booting and apps and all.
