The more I grow as a musician and come back to this video, the more I realize shayley was the best clean vocalist in the metalcore scene. His pitch control, his tone, his range. I haven’t heard another singer from that era come close
@@quisdefa Dallas green is amazing. Better than shayley imo. But Alexisonfire is from the early 2000s post hardcore scene with contemporary like underoath. I mean of the rise core era (2009-2012) Shayley stands alone as the most talented clean singer of that time.
Austin is one of the best live performer I've ever heard growling and screaming. But hey, Shay! Shay is just...plain fantastic and awesome! I cannot believe he has such a great voice! It must have been an amazing concert. And hey- they had a long day probably and so it's only understandable that they sound a bit off to the end. They are only humans as well. But for real: This was a fucking great performance. These boys go!! And I love them
I lost my mom in 2012 and I discovered this song a few weeks before the Dallas Tx date and ended up going for JUST this one song and I just cried and awed in amazement. Of mice & men helped me through so much when I was an overly emotional teenager and taught me how to remember the good memories and cherish the ones to come. You're not alone!
I hope you guys know his song is about Austin's mother dying not about Shayley leaving Of Mice and Men that's why it sasy "I need your love and a boy needs his mother's side"
Seeing OM&M live is one of the greatest experiences in the world, especially when they play Second & Sebring. That moment when they stop playing, and all you hear is the crowd sing "This is not what it is only baby scars" and the music kicks back in...I get chills and goosebumps everytime I hear it. I'm so thankful for a band like Of Mice & Men. A truly great band that cares about their fans and make incredible music
This song always makes me either tear up or hardcore cry ;( i replace the words " like a boy needs his mothers side" to "like a girl needs her fathers side" cuz my dad passed away & this song makes me feel better :)
He's one of the best live screamers, ever. He always sounds amazing live, most screamers can't maintain that high of a level for a whole show or tour. Too bad they're going soft now.
korezito1 im honestly surprised how rapidly he is losing his screaming ability. Its all about the style because hes been doing it as long as Mike from TDWP and i just saw them last week his vocals are on point
Philia // Phobia Its funny you say that because I am always disappointed with Mike's live vocals. They sound very different than the recorder version, and if you see TDWP after the first couple of shows on a tour, his voice is terrible.
Theses guys live, they're just awesome. I saw them this year at Warpedtour( montreal 12') and god... I was at the 1st row. They gaved me chills and it was like 42 outside. Haha. Just love them. I wated so long to see them, it was worth it.
My band covered this at our local Battle Of The Bands, and the crowd of people loved it.... I got off the stage and went into the crowd. It was an amazing night :) First time I ever played in front of people :) I'll remember it forever, and I'm glad Of Mice & Men could be part of my first day on stage
My dad died 5 months ago, and this song is the only thing that has gotten me through it. This song has saved my life. Austin, Alan, Aaron, Tino and Phil will never understand how much they've helped me.
My god that dude has such a good voice. I’m not really into metal anymore but really like how good these guys are live. When I used to be into metal I saw a lot of really shitty live performances by some bands I used to love.
This video makes me feel old and I'm sad about it as much as I am nostalgic. I still remember going to warped tour this year as a 15 year old, crowdsurfing and getting punched in the nuts while in the air and just having to deal with it til I eventually got dropped lmao
You're right. There is most likely a dynamic mic in the kick drum. It's not that the FOH engineer did bad. Warped Tour doesn't hire crappy engineers. Instead, everything is mixed for live, not crappy cellphone recording.
I went to Warped Tour pretty much just to see these guys, even though I live in Wales.. this video completely backs up my reason why. Oh my god. Perfect. And Alan Ashby is pretty easy on the eye, eh? ;)
+PUSSYCAT EATER I thought so, too, because I knew their songs before I knew the band members. How is their latest record related to this? They still have two frontmen.
Alot of you have to understand this is the last song of the set so theyre very tired. Dont take shayleys performance in this song as a basis for his actual skill. Even Austin couldnt keep up and hes (imho) an extremely good performer.
When I went to see these guys in Phoenix this warped tour, there wasn't a mosh pit in the crowd. No, the crowd WAS the mosh pit... craziest. show. ever.
the clean vocals are fucking insane here. and of course austin does a sick job but damn the range on the cleans is incredible it's so rare to find someone who can actually hit those notes and do some backup screams on occasion. killer band
The more I grow as a musician and come back to this video, the more I realize shayley was the best clean vocalist in the metalcore scene. His pitch control, his tone, his range. I haven’t heard another singer from that era come close
danny worsnop too but back then. also denis stoff ofc.
@@grvhntr3003 also Ben Bruce if we're about AA
um Dallas Green - Alexisonfire

@@bryanbaez4412 idk.. Danny worsnop and Matty Mullins could def give him a run for his money, as much as I love Shayley
Shayley and Austin's pair was gold
Legendary
Why were they so good together !?
“And when the moon met the sun, all was golden in the sky”
Yup, their voices complimented each other instead of just having a typical clean and distorted vocals
god i miss these times so bad.
The double bass pedal is so powerful holy shit
it is
The power of Valentino’s stomps
Austin looks so much like Mitch Lucker in this. Gives me the feels
I just saw the resemblance.. makes my heart melt 😭😭
+victoria nichols especially when he does that headbanger at 1:34
+Zach Parker breaks my heart a little
Ugh I miss them both so fucking much gracing their strong presence in the music world!!
is anybody else crying over how powerful this song is?
The most stacked group of artists right there on that stage holy shit, been years since i saw this video and it still hits in 2024
What beautiful creature blessed Shayley with his amazing voice

so I don't care its just a name that I got to work

I don't suppose you don't see that I could apply your comment to your previous statement.

THE IRONY. IT BURNS.
I love how you can easily hear each and every hit of the bass drum it sounds so epic when the double comes in
especially when ur earbuds have alot of bass xD
For all you people missing Shayley he's in his own band Dayshell now and they totally kick ass
They're honestly better.
The energy at this show was unlike anything i've ever felt. Its amazing how music can bring people together like this.

Miss these days so much
2011 OM&M was gold 🤘, definitely my favorite member line up. This was perfect.
I feel like Austin screams better live than in the cd's..

This song deserves no dislikes. I love how much Austing ets into it for this song. You can tell what it truly means to him.
he's such an amazing live performer (shay) but Austin oh lord. by far my favorite screamer .
I can't wait to see them in July!!

Been watching each and every Second And Sebring live video and each are so so so so so amazing and make me cry.
OF MICE AND MEN FOREVER-3
I regret not seeing Of Mice & Men live with Austin
More regret not seeing with Shayley
There's something really amazing about hearing all these boys singing those amazing lyrics at the end :D
i need to see them live!!

the pain and beauty in this song.. its amazing..
my favorite song, from my favorite metalcore band!

No matter how many notes you take of this video, you will never be better.
thats a band with true heart.
I couldn't ask for a more perfect band. 6 days.... 6 fucking days is all that stands between me and seeing them live again.

2011... the last year of the 2000's vibe
Oh shit I just realized I'm never gonna be able to see them live. Fuck.
Michael Morris they are still touring just without Austin
Buy Shay was the attraction and who produced the true vocal essence.

Awesome!! They sound epic live
They sound amazing live
Haha I'm the guy who he grabbed onto right before he caught the water bottle. Best performance I've ever seen live. Incredible job.
This is the best video quality of the song that i have ever heard!
I have crippling nostalgia for a time I wasn't into metal 😔 sucks knowing I've missed out on so much
I fucking love Austin so much, like its not even normal, he's such an amazing, inspirational person.
Austin is one of the best screamers live!
The best song ever!!!
I love this song live so much
He is sooo nice. I met him when i saw them at Warped and he is probably the nicest guy i've ever met. Same with the rest of the band. :D
okay the entrance part... intro... was just amazing lol it gave me chills while he was talking
They are soo good!
Love this song
it's like there a mic inside the drum xD you can hear his kick pedals
+TheAmazingWorldOfPB There is. But the sound producer sucks and left the tone all flappy.
+Rick Scott I guess that makes sense
You're right. There is most likely a dynamic mic in the kick drum. It's not that the FOH engineer did bad. Warped Tour doesn't hire crappy engineers. Instead, everything is mixed for live, not crappy cellphone recording.
One of the best videos i have seen of them performing :) good job
I get goosebumps whenever I watch this video omfg
Pretty damn good quality if you ask me.

Ahh I thought Austin sang and screamed never realised there was two vocalists
Typical restoring force fan girl

How is their latest record related to this? They still have two frontmen.
No maybe The Flood new songs with no singer?
I always hated you people that gave Austin all the credit.
Austin is so talented
best video i seen plus the end is perfect

the vocalist for Jamie's Elsewhere is filling in and hopefully staying because he fits so perfect!
