- Hunting Knife Restoration.
This hunting knife SOLINGEN was accidentally found in an old German shed and had been lying there for at least several decades.
The knife handle is broken and I couldn’t restore it, so I decided to remove it and made a new one from olive wood, as the woods’ structure is very beautiful.
I hope this video will be useful and interesting for watching :)
I am happy to receive any feedback on my work!

Brilliant. My late father left many valuable knife, 3 vintage knifes of solingen, in somewhat similar condition. Wish I could restore them like this. That's beautiful work, mesmerising.

Hello! Beautiful work! You did well to use the olive wood, it has a soft luster and sheen and it's grain is very beautiful...a very nice contrast to the rest of the knife...it looks like it came out of the factory...Good job!

Oh yeah 👌 😍
Many thanks!!! 😊
Nice restoration! But I'd use natural horn for handles. Also, make some sheath for it :D
Thanks for the nice comment! 👍👍👍 I already made a sheath for a knife, but this process was not filmed. I will add it next time.
Nice and complete
Thank you!
Nice restoration. I was wondering if you were using a flat top punch to tap in the the brass pins? Or did you have something else?
Dear Curtis, thank you for a feedback! You are right, in a video I use special punch with a recess for the rivet head to tap in the brass pins. If you stop the video exactly at 7:57, you can see it. The video is speed up and it is very difficult to see this moment. My mistake, I forgot to slow down it.
Nice restoration, you did a pretty good job on it.
Thanks!
I had one like that when I was a teenager back in the 70's. I can't remember what happened to it.
Hey, thanks for sharing your memories. I love items from 70’s, they have unique spirit and great quality.
Well done
Thank you!
Hella dope results, @Atelier12D!
Thank you very much for your comment!❤️
Great work!👍
Thank you for a feedback! It motivates me a lot!
Nice work, but why didn't you make the handle scales with the grain running lengthwise rather than across? It would have been stronger that way and less liable to crack.
Superb job that handle is beautiful you sure know your stuff mate 👍👍👍😊😊😊♥️
Buddy, I really appreciate your comments! ❤

Sehr schöne Arbeit. Respekt!
Thank you for your comment! 👍 I love working with wood knife handles. In the next restorations, I will take into account your wishes.
I’m glad how you did the handle. Whoever dud the original stag handle should be ashamed of themselves
Thank you very much for your comment! 👍 Unfortunately the original handle was from plastic and I didn't have a stag horn, that's why I decided to remove it and make the new one from olive wood.
