      We compared all of the stock axles along with the halo 30, smart spool and also cobra vs turner. Measured bar length, axle angle and articulation on each angle to make sure they would work. All of that along with real world testing in our last 2 video series.

    Does that Spacer shim not need to be hub centric

    • @TheCanAmCrew
      @TheCanAmCrew  6 месяцев назад

      No, the knuckle, hub and wheel bearing do that with splines and bearings. We are just taking up 1/16 between the axle and the bearing to create more space between the cup and knuckle.

    • @mccradyfarms6410
      @mccradyfarms6410 6 месяцев назад

      I just Noticed that it was loose on the spines and And that it staying in place and resting against the inner bearing race Would keep it from damaging the dust Seal on the bearing.

      @@mccradyfarms6410 the OD of the shim is the ID of the hub and it sits flat against the bearing surface so it can’t move around.

    How does a spool do with a 17 x3

    • @TheCanAmCrew
      @TheCanAmCrew  6 месяцев назад

      I’m not sure. We have 2019 to 2023 can ams and they are fine but I do believe they have a better power steering unit as well. In my opinion it will only be stiffer while turning on the road.

    • @scottfatta8133
      @scottfatta8133 6 месяцев назад +1

      I am pretty sure the 17's power steering is the worst out of all the x3s so it will affect the steering the most but I do not think it will be a problem. If you are riding very technical terrain most of the time the smart spool is definitely going to help. If you never ride technical terrain this diff is probably not for you.

      You would think that the cast aluminum case would grenade but because there are 3 huge bearing keeping everything from flexing it holds up. Everyone in our group is running the smart spool and no problems with any cases. ( I have thousands of miles on a smart spool myself ) Now everything can break and we are working on a billet case but I'm not worried about the stock case.
