"Condemned Criminal Origins, a psychological horror video game. Set in the fictional American City of Metro. The player takes on the role of Ethan Thomas, a crime scene investigation agent with the FBI's Serial Crime Unit, as he traverses the seedier sides of the city. Framed for murder, His journey takes him through a number of condemned buildings as he searches for the evasive Serial Killer X.

Condemned Criminal Origins is an amazing game. The combat in this game was so freaking awesome, the story for this game is amazing, the atmosphere for this game was very good, the graphics are so good, the enemies are amazing in this game, the final boss fight was so good and the ending for this game was quite amazing! :D

I remember playing this when it first dropped, me and my friend kept switching turns cause it was so fucking scary lol. We were in like 5th grade, shit is still intense and creeps me out....miss these games

The sound in this game was amazing. Hearing the thugs scream in the dark before they come attack you is terrifying. This game kept me on edge of my seat the whole time. The story pulled you in too
I find it funny that in this game Ethan and Rosa look older (40s-50s) but in the second game they look younger (20s-30s). Ethan also looks like he's Native American in this game but in Bloodshot he's white.
Ethan looks like a completely different character!
Yeah I get that he's become a drunk sometime after the end of Criminal Origins to the beginning of Bloodshot, he's also grown a beard and let his hair grow out. But their facial features look different like his nose and eyes. It's like they forgot what he looked like and created a new character.
Maybe they both went through some very effective plastic surgery.

Condemned was a great series imo very underrated gem. It had an interesting story, enemy types, characters and it scared the shit out of me lol SKX is one of my favorite video game villains of all time tbh. His design and cutscenes in bloodshot were really cool as well.
If a game deserves a remake, this should be on the top of the list! I remember hiring this game as a kid from the video store, was both a mistake and a blessing! Good ol days.
Yeah, a remake or a complete series reboot would be even better as this game is still perfectly playable.
If it’s anybody that could remake this game, I think it should be red barrels. Same guys who made the outlast series. They could incorporate some elements from their outlast games and infuse the same feel into a new condemned game
@@AxelCracken Despite outlast and Condemned have clearly some Similarities, the Way the Horror is presented is very different. Outlast has a much "faster" feeling, in your Face-Horror than Condemned. Condemned feels slower and heavier, both in Gameplay and Horror.
Also, Red Barrel doesn't have many Experience with fighting Mechanics, and you can't make Condemned without a good fighting System. I'm not saying that they aren't able to make a good Condemned Game, but i think it's very unlikely.
And at the end of the Day there are so many little Things, that make Condemned Condemned. It's like with the Silent Hill games, they are one of a kibd. Only the OG Devs (Monolith, Team Silent, R. I. P.) have the true Soul and Spirit to make these Games.
Aa yes .. the great Monolith Productions, with their underrated gems under their belt ( NOLF and F.E.A.R. series ) .. and their famous LithTech engine !

I remember seeing this game on sale when I was much younger and when I first got an Xbox 360. The game looked too scary for poor preteen me and boy do I wish now I could've played it. Sold my old 360 a few years ago to help try and get myself ready for uni, but I'm more than happy to watch a playthrough. Crackin job.
this game came out 17 years ago , it looks great runs amazing and plays well, its games like this that make you realise that game devs today for the most part are lazy money grabbing pricks

Great walkthrough , thanks for sharing , loved this game back in the past . Apparently it seems like you have something against blocking attacks and like to take the hits :D The ending seemed a bit boring with the repetitive fights ,but otherwise great game
Ah....the memories. Watching this took me back to 2007 when I first bought a 360 and bought Condemned at GameStop a couple of weeks later.
This was the first ever FP horror game I played. Great game, great times. It paved the way for me. A glimpsed of what was yet to come for horror games.

Man I miss this game. The ambient sound and atmosphere top notch! And the mood setting sound track one of the best. I've thought about buying a 360 just to play this again and condemned 2. Very underrated games! I love the one finishing move Ethen does when he says "I'll take this you fuc_er!

Yeah lol i wanted to redo this with some nice visual tweaks and improved gameplay. I recently installed Dead space again and installed a fix for the god awful input delay that plagued the PC version.. I deleted my first walkthrough of DS1 awhile back because of the gameplay with the lag, i wasnt feeling it. will be redoing the entire series soon.

Wow at the beginning of the game it feels like a move mystery with all the techy gadgets this agent has. Can't wait to see what this game has in store for this game then off to the second one.

I remember the tabloid press talking about this game before it was released and stating that this game will make our youths turn to violence.
I just adore the game's combat. To me, it kind of mirrors Dishonored by having a melee weapon in one hand and a ranged weapon in the other.

Man I love this game. Haven't seen the second one but I do hope it incorporated the ability to sling or holster your gun and still carry a melee weapon at the same time.
Watching this in 2021, can't help but wince every time a gun is dropped with a bullet left. As I remember... while you the player are limited to only what was in the clip, enemies can reload a weapon if it had at least 1 bullet when they picked it up. Thus why I always would empty any gun I found then drop it in favor of a melee weapon.
Imagine if this is what Outlast was like! I would've actually gotten those games if that was the case, I'm not saying they aren't good games cause they are some of the scariest psychologically because you cant fight back and they don't pull their punches with the gritty/gore/blood/ proganity/ nudity ect ect im just not a fan of the whole "no fighting back" it frustrates me because I'm "fight or die" kind of person. But this looks really good for an older game! not bad

Me and PB share a taste in games i started it out with ps1 playing Syphon filter and medevil plus the crashbashgames then when ps2 was released Simpsons hit and run spiderman and gta sanandreas on 360 saints row assasins creed FEAR then condemned criminal origins then FEAR 2 po and dead space, dead rising etc.
Probably the scariest city in FPS history. And it got worse in Condemned 2 Bloodshot!

I would love to see a crossover with the characters of this game and Resident Evil series .My guess is that they take place in the same year (1998). Also I believe that Ethan and Leland are the same age as Albert Wesker.
How are you able to get the game looking so good?
By adding some effects that werent available when the game was made (motion blur and magic bloom, and afew other little tweaks), along with going into the actual game settings and selecting the option to render internal textures at ultr hd.
