I just bought this model a couple of weeks ago. My first acoustic bass and my first proper fretless. Luckily my local shop fitted flatwounds and slightly lowered the action. It’s a lovely thing to play and learn new techniques on. I’m pretty chuffed with it. It seems like it maybe kind of fragile when it comes to taking knocks to the body so I invested in a heavily padded gig bag.
@@duendedude2345 I didn’t notice much of a difference in before and after so I assume he wasn’t able to get much but I’m happy with how it is. It wasn’t something I requested him to do. If i have to play hard for volume or expression, low action can rattle sometimes.
Decidedly, I will never like the sound of bronze strings ... For an electroacoustic bass, I prefer the Flatwounds Stainless Stell Strings or the Black Nylon ... 😏
You’re right. It sounds pretty bad. Why didn’t you review with the flats on instead of telling us how bad the wire wounds are? Thanks for the description otherwise.

Mine doesn't seem to have much scope for lowering the action, but I may try taking it down a little.
