"I really wanna get some more Horror stuff. I love the action stuff. I love all that boys blowin up, explosions, guns..." Congrats on Doom man, this is really inspiring. You are a straight up G.
Mick is ALL OVER RUclips right now. I bet companies are lining up at his door right now to hire him. It's not often you see a game composer get this much attention. Even from some of the greats like Akira Yamaoka and Michael McCann. This also shows that the world has grown more accustomed to Metal. Thanks Mick.
but the doom 2016 soundtrack sounded more like a nu-metal not this extreme kind of metal where you barely can't understand which instruments they are playing or what they are singing
Dude...your killer instinct tracks are AMAZING!!!!!!! Not just the best fighting game soundtracks, but easily one of the best collection of tracks Ive heard all year. INCREDIBLE!
Holy fuck, I remember watching this when it aired and tbh i didnt really think that it was an important segment and even remember telling myself that this musician will only be able to compose Aussie made games... I want to punch myself for ever thinking that...
Dude, I'm from Brissy! I just wanna say that it's great to see some sick top notch game composing coming out of Aus. I'm a novice guitar player, and hopefully maybe one day I'll be able to create some interesting tracks too. Loved your work on the recent DOOM and Wolfenstein games, mate; thanks for musically bringing a new spin on the classics while still paying homage to their roots - not unlike the games themselves. I saw that you sold your Damien 9 String that you used for DOOM for cheap! Schecter is pretty sick, I have an SGR, as well as a Diamond Series 7 (both with aftermarket pickups), and I love how they both play.
Ok, his story sounds very cool, but in the interview we almost jumped from being a 12 year old guitarist to meeting success... how did he get the job at pandemic studios ? and something more important than that; what did he study? anything special or just hard work?
So, +Mick Gordon, I wanted to ask you now that you have Killer Instinct (2013) Seasons 1 and 2 under your belt at this point, this popped into my head..............Of the 13 Songs you made so far, which Theme did you enjoy making the most?? That's all I wanted to know, and thank you for your time.-----HF64V1
Back then Mick had no idea that in a few years he would create a soundtrack for some shooter game... and change the world!
