    It is nice that Tekton has USA made tools. We need more videos like this to promote made in USA tools and other products. I do have several USA made Tekton pliers, a16 pc screwdriver set and a couple of hammers. Good value. Hopefully Tekton can expand their USA made offerings. No big deal that Tekton doesn't have a Tekton factory. Sears didn't make their USA made Craftsman tools back in the day either.

      Ya I completely agree. And ya I hope they continue to expand on the usa line up they have.

    Tekton has a US factory and is making tools in-house.
    Their factory and Wearhouse & distribution are based out of Grand Rapids Michigan.
    I've had a tour of their manufacturing facility (can't divulge any specific details), but they are defiantly making tools in-house by their own employees.
    While I don't know for certain, I'm certain there are some tools made by vendors and re-sold by Tekton.

    Great video. Thanks for sharing. I was born in Detroit in the mid 70 when manufacturing was still viable. And I grew up in Trenton NJ where the city motto was “Trenton Makes The World Takes” 😞
    Really sad how rare it is to find good but affordable American made tools.

    I wish tekton would make their sockets on the USA , I don’t mind a price increase because it’s USA made but th amount other certain tool trucks up charge for it is outrageous

    Tekton tools overall I find a good value. I have almost all of the impact socket sets they offer and my only dislike is mine do not have the stamped size markings like the new ones do. I also really like their breaker bars, with the bar fitting into the head. Much stronger than the traditional design where the head fits into the bar. I got an early set of the tri lobe handle screwdrivers at a price that no one could not buy at. They are nice, but I often will grab my Vessel cross points over them. I have the manual impact driver, now discontinued, and find it to be junk. I dont hold it against them as they are always improving on their tools, and the simple fact they discontinued it. Unlike some others, I believe most of the new design tools are batter than the older design. I think made in USA is nice, but I do not put a lot of weight on it. I put more weight on the performance of the tool and the warranty behind it. The best warranty is one that is there, easy to use and hassle free... and one that I never need to use. The warranty to me is more of a showing of the confidence the brand has in their tool. Tekton has a great warranty that I used only once. Gearwrench has a lifetime warranty that takes weeks to get a replacement from and I have used it a few handfulls of times. Tekton seems to be improving while others are cutting costs and losing the quality they were once known for.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  2 года назад +1

      Completely agree. I have a few of the older discontinued stuff and while they for the most part are good tools they are definitely not as nice as the new versions. And completely agree with the warranty as well. Tekton has done a great job with it and I wish more companies would have a warranty that is similar. It shows they believe in the tools they sell and that they appreciate the customer. Thanks for sharing your thoughts

    I'm not sure any of the WILDE made tools ( pliers, punches / chisels, and pry bars ) are actually cheaper from Tekton, but they're rewards their fast shipping and great customer service do definitely make it worth going through Tekton.
    Do they actually offer all the pry bar sizes ?
    There is an 8" that was $10 at Walmart ( the HT handles are now black BTW )
    I love their hard handle drivers and picks, hopefully they'll expand the line of hard handles to include everything they offer in those other handles that I don't like.
    I sure hope they eventually decide to make some ratchets here in the US.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  2 года назад +1

      Yes they have alot of wilde product for cheaper like the slip joints and angle nose pliers just as examples. And ya the rewards and shipping alone is enough to make me want to buy the tekton. Ya I've been seeing the HT prybars changing. Right now we have a mix of both handles in the store. That would be awesome to see some usa made ratchets but if that does happen I think it's going to be awhile since the just released these and the new comfor grips.

    I just got the 8 piece mini pliers set from Tekton made in Taiwan. I went with this set cause Snap on is too expensive for their set and blue point are made in China. While Channel lock is made in USA it is only a 6 piece for the same price, plus I heard that Channel lock isn't what it used to be. I am waiting for the pick set from Tekton cause once again they are a better deal than Snap on and others.

      Thanks. 90% it's wd40 whenever I get done working with them. But that's easy to do at home. Not so much at work lol. I used alot of brake clean in the past and ruined alot of tools over time so I try to stay away from that.

    • @Mike-ff7ib
      @Mike-ff7ib 2 года назад

      @@TonyTheTechnician ah yes... wd40 is excellent cleaning oil off surfaces. I used to use it to clean oil off the paint of cars then use simple green to clean off the wd40.
