Watching this at Big Dave's Lodge. He is taking my buddy and I out tomorrow and the next day. Third year in a row. Always a great time.
You guys were just like two kids in a candy shop all smiles and fun 😊it was awesome to see your video those were some beautiful steles I have been able to get any kind lately her in Washington the rivers here are shitty your Oregonian rivers are better I mite have to move down there but great job guys will see you at the show
Big Dave & Popov for another huge win!!!!
Seems like I'm not alone loving Big Dave and Popov videos. Gorgeous Winters, Fellas. Keep it up
Thank you guys for helping our future generations to have a fishery!!!
Always enjoy the Big Dave &Popov vids
Fun times! Enjoyed watching!
Telling y’all right now if fishing had commentators the would be the voice of fishing thanks pop and Dave
Hey guys Branden niemi here just giving he thumbs up and a comment on your video being born and raised in Tillamook this good to see my home again keep up the good videos love watching
I'd almost be just as excited to put fish in the broodstock tank as I would in my freezer!
Great job on helping the hatchery process
Popov videos are #1
Best video yet!! Thank you both and why this is the best channel. Conservation of fish is what all need to help build and please donate for the cause.
the duo is back lol you guys are awesome hope to fish with you guys one day
Another dave n popov banger keep em rolling boys
Was waiting for our Sunday upload! Stoked!
Can you guys do a full video solely explaining the stocking program? Sounds like something that many steelhead fisheries could benefit from
Great job" can't wait to hit that river " she is a beauty!
Awesome to see the work into improving the fishery!!! Keep up the awesome videos!
I wish Michigan would try to adopt the brood stock program! Seems like a no brainer and i know alot of anglers would be willing to help
You need wild fish for a broodstock, not invasive lake run planted trout
@@ryanstaples2737 Michigan has amazing natural reproduction. If you don't think those are Steelhead it's because you never fished the Great Lakes. They simply don't need a broodstock program because their hatchery fishery is healthy.
@Ryan Staples your hilarious man Michigan has some of the best steelhead fishing in the nation, huron , superior, Michigan , are my main 3 and they feed some of the finest steelhead fishing in the world, including the P.M, Big and Little Mannistee , The White..... The addicted crew came and fished our waters and danced with the world's largest freshwater supply's GIANTS!
@@boblove6865he’s saying Michigan needs native steelhead
The Big Dave and Nick Show...Nice video
You guys are awesome! Well done on the video and the fishing 😁🤙 addicted for life! ❤
Heck yeah ! 6:20 and 8:30 keepers! Nice work Nick and Big Dave! Fishing with you guys is on my bucket list of things to do in the PNW. Appreciate your help keeping healthy fish in our Rivers!✌️
Its always good to breed back strong lines into the program's.
Love the big Dave and nick videos you guys are great and do great work for us as anglers thank you fellas
I’ll be there Sunday with one of Wilson river lodges guides! Can’t wait
Love this duo. More please.
I think more fisherman should participate in the brood stock program... The Clackamas River could really benefit from more early-run Steelhead & Spring Chinook.
Awesome hatchery program!
It was nice to meet you in person Big Dave at Fisherman’s Warehouse. Awesome video like always keep up the great work.
Thanks will be seeing you !
Solid work boys! Thanks
Those were beautiful fish! I may have to hook up with big Dave!
Dave & Pop usually end up with great videos. Best by far was Dave falling in last season!!!
Really nice Fish!! Just goes to show, all the bad talk about Hatchery vs wild is that , talk! For 4years I've been watching,I was amazed at the fact that the Hatchery Fish seemed Bigger!! Brood stock program seems to be 😃👍 great!!
Nothing makes me happier than these videos on the river I love most where I have caught more steelhead than any other river. First steelhead I ever caught was the upper M drift by Js house. Those who know will know.
Sundays are the best days! 🔥🎣
Nick and big Dave are the bomb.you guys contribute to the cause so that we can continue to catch these amazing and beautiful steelhead.thank you for all you guys do.pleasure to watch and learn from.great job guys, keep it up,addicted for life🤘
Thanks for the tips guy's
Awesome guys so glad I subscribed to this channel
Lookin like a great start to the season !
At least it wasn’t your boat! Lmao
Excellent day! Great job
Wild looking steelhead!!!! 🐟Way to go 2 in the box 🎁
This is why I have not taken my drift boat out yet.... I have zero rowing experience and have no one to show me. caught two from the bank tho so far this month tho!
hire a guide for a time or two on the river you want to fish. Let them know you want to learn the river and they will usually give you a lot of good info and show you the lines to take,
Start out rowing at a lake and get comfortable with the oars. Then do your research and find the easiest drifts near you. Do those repeatedly until your comfortable. Then slowly work your way up to more challenging drifts.
I had 0 experience other than rowing in lakes with boats just take it down a clam river learn simple things do it like 10 15 times maybe more till your comfortable try something a little more difficult just always stay safe be alert & calm now towards danger & row away is what I’ve kinda went by these past few years
Bow** nose whatever you want to call it…
Bro my moto is your never gonna learn Until -- You SENT IT BABY 👍👏👏
Tackle Tips... Nice ring to it and sounds so professional... I like it 👍
Perfect description of doggin nice job Nick
Awesome job fellas 🤘 hammer down
Heck yeah you got your tree pounder again
Awesome work guys..love the content
Why casting vs spinning? Most of your prior bead setups used spinning reels and curious why casting reels this time.
Great video and thanks for participating in the broodstock program. One way we can positively impact future opportunity.
Ha! Thats my Homies Cooler!
Once again, awesome video I like the brewed stock program I wish Washington would’ve knocked something like that or even put out enough fish to have a return but who knows I don’t know how many more videos you put out but I’ll see you at the sportsman show at the Bash because I got my VIP tickets and I wanna win the kayak
Where’s Cam at? “Salmon, steelhead, trout, and even bass and stuff like that!”😂
What are the advantages/disadvantages of bobber dogging vs a regular slip float setup vs bump drifting? Particularly for bank fishing.
Sorry if y’all gonna hate but this channel has Nick and Dave written all over it
Every year it seems it happens. I remember that day though. Water can be treacherous if you don’t respect it.
Thanks for the instructions on setup for bobber dogging. I have always been curious, especially after seeing the tutorial and learning the leader length and seeomg that the bobber is meant to pull the weight down stream - is bobber dogging basically a form of flossing? I'm sure there's a percentage of fish that eat the beads/roe, but does it not tend to pull the line across their mouth resulting in a floss?
How do you know that you’re using the correct amount of weight? Do you want your float moving downstream just a little bit slower than the current?
Good work boyz!
That fish at the top of the M field was in a sketchy spot. Nice working landing that one. I’ve hooked fish off that rock and had to run my ass down the bank to get them.
Why can't WDFW do programs like this!!!??? Seriously! WTF Washington!?!?
There are plenty of us here that would love to contribute to something like this. It’s time!
That one dude looks like Wolfman Jack and sounds like the Wolfman......
Nice
Fish on Baby🔥❤️
Good thing you put him in the live well the right way so he thinks he still going up river.
Thanx
If you’re bobber dogging and your bobber is laying down flat on the water but not “chugging “ do you need to add more weight?
Nick and Dave. The boat that sank. Did the fisherman make it out safe. Great video. Love the new bead color. What size will they be in.
Yes, they were fine
@@LManners31 they did NOT make it out safe, like what?????
Is that a full bead kit you can get or did you guys assemble it with separate purchases?
Nick P is god
What river were you fishing? Perhaps I missed it if mentioned
I wanna see a north fork Nehalem trip
I see you guys run bait casters alot. You guys ever thought about running a spiral wrapped caster rod.
Where are they fishing?
How is this different than drift fishing it seems that you’re still drifting the weight along the bottom in the barbers just dragging along top is that correct
Sure wish we could get wdfw to implement the broodstock program.....😡
Great video and tackle info!
Absolutely!!!! Not sure why the WDFW doesn't seem interested in broodstock programs like Oregon has.
No kidding 🙄
Gunna have to put that tree pounder in the smoker
What's the rod and reel specs?
I’ve gone fishing in the kalama river in Washington so many times I’ve tried everything and I haven’t even gotten a take down I’ve jug twitched floated a jig floated a bead floated eggs used a spinner and a spoon and can’t get anything
Met a guy on the Kalama more than twenty years ago. Name was Mike Lowrey, just like the governor. Took me down the river in his boat. We had several hits, but no solid hook ups. Two weeks later, took my first boat trip by myself and applied what he taught me. Took home two springers (limit at the time) and released three wild steelhead. My best trip ever. Having the right teacher sure helps. Go on a guided trip and find out what you are doing wrong. Kalama is a LONG way for me and I would love to spend more time down there. One of two places I have landed a 20+ lb steelhead (I had to chase it a LONG way and my friends would not bring my gear bag with my camera, no cell phones back then) but no pics or measurements for a photo mount. Argh. Good luck, it sure is beautiful on that river.
Hold up, when your bobber doggin, your presentation is working ahead of the weight? As in downstream of the weight? I always thought it was behind/upstream of the weight
I wish you guys would wear PFDs on the river, I see you advocate it but I don't see any on you guys. My dad's boat flipped just like the start of the video and all of his things floated down river like this including his body. Broke my heart and I've never been the same since and no one should have to get that phone call that their loved one isn't coming home. Take care of yourselves out there.
What lb line is your leader for Steelhead? Is 12lb. Maxima to lit light?
You can go as light as 8 for steelhead
The beads that are dropping at the sportsman show.... Are you going sell "X" amount per day until gone for that day? or if they all sell in the first day then there just gone for the rest of the show?
We will have lots of packs
@@peelthereel great! Thanks
When you guys run a double rig does the upper bead get hit often?
Yes!
@Addicted Fishing usually just run a single bead but will have to try it. Makes sense to give the fish a couple of options.
What's the name of the river what state is this in
Nunya fork Biznis river.
I don't see the life jackets on the guys.
i bet it was full of guns
Let’s do a collaboration!
Per Big D, on your rivers it sounds like a flipped boat is common... So does anyone ever drop everything and check up river for em? Or is it so populated they will be fine? Or is it locals only, fk them they can fend for themselves? I've seen all three of those philosophies across WA state so just generally curious.
PS:
marlin is a sea lion
These guys kill way too much, like they don’t have a freezer full already
Wait , a boat capsized an you just blow it off
nice vid but stop clit bating vids, starts getting annoying when you claim a boat sunk and got nothing of it on film.
The broodstock programs a joke I don’t want too see hatchery fish I want to see wild natives thriving
Sorry but this comment is a joke. 🙄
You guys are meat heads on the way you handle your fish
Instead of the fish going up a Creek to spawn, You're gonna make all of its kids hatchery fish. Bad idea, Is here in Oregon, Odf killed thousands of fish more than once, Cause the air raitors and the ponds did not work, This has ruined steel head fishing for many years, Leave the native fish alone.
YASSSSSS ☄️🔥
Nice
