One of the Greatest things you can do on your Home build is taking care of the Guys who build it! When you take the time and effort to bring Lunch to show your appreciation for their Craftsmanship they will go that extra step to make sure everything is done Right. It was 200.00 well spent. Good job Dan😇
my parents usually always do the same, if they realize any worker is starving like simple park workers or maybe even movers they will try to give them food (and 60% of the time they don't finish it cuz its so much)
My brother is a carpenter here in Germany and he just build a wooden frame house (of cours a stronger frame than in the us, but still a wooden frame) and they insulated it with foam.
In India it’s all cement and brick work, and iron ,the bricks are made of mud and sometimes ash, the a layer of plaster comes, then there’s white cement, and then the final coat is paint. We basically do not have wooden houses.
I thought that one of the few advantages of this wooden structure is that you can stretch a new cable or pipe there at any time. It won't be so easy with that insulation.
Tbh using bricks and concrete is more energy, time, resource and budget efficient. Iam from India and took 13 months for the builders to build the entire house and do the modular interior with so many uncommon technology imported from various countries (my family is a tech freak), everything was new to them but they finished everything without any mistake. Iam grateful for those guys.
I'm wondering that people from Europe are wondering about wooden houses - here in Germany it's far away from standard but normal for many pre-build houses that are deployed within one or two days. Already 50 years ago, we are living in one. The basement is made out of bricks, but the rest is wood. And those houses were more energy efficient than "normal" houses.
@ProFam311 unless you build underground, a tornado can easily destroy a stone structure. A lot of Comercial buildings in the US are cinderblocks and concrete buildings and still gets leveled in the strongest of tornados.
In Uk if you spray foam and want to sell the house or buy a house that has it on banks doesn't give you mortgage because on the roofs all the wood gets rotten.
also a lot of insurance companies dont like spray foam on the underside of roofs because of the added expense of repair if your roof ever needs repair you have all that foam to deal with.
Mineral wool is good for sound absorption but you really have to decouple the drywall if you want to notably reduce the sound transfer. Minimum is doing some resilient channel which will be a big improvement (with the insulation) but far better is hat channel on clips then drywall. Can do a lot more for more hardcore sound reduction but the simple act of decoupling makes a huge difference.
It's fun to see the process of a house being built! I have a dream to build one day. We have a little boy with Cerebral Palsy and a custom house just for him would be so awesome.
In our home, two bedrooms on the same side of house, it's colder, where the other side of house, the one bedroom (split bedroom) it's 3 times warmer. You would think, the 2 bedrooms, doesn't have insulation in the walls. Well, it does. Dans home, it's being sprayed in, and it will cover every space, and his home will be comfortable in the home. Spraying foam in the walls, it's the best way to cover the areas. Putting insulation in the walls, it doesn't work as well . That's another reason why we came to check on our home, when it was being built. Making sure the contractor, made sure to put insulations in the walls . Why I ask, a friend of ours, him and his wife had a home built . This friend went to check on his home, well, the company who were supposed to put in the insulation, did NOT do that . When the husband noticed the company didn't put the insulation behind the walls . The workers had to tear out the drywall and they had to put insulation with new drywall. Anytime you are having a home built , make a point and check on the house daily , until the home is completed.
At my house's family room we paid to get extra insulation when they redid our ceiling, but I'm not sure I've noticed much of a temperature difference in it not being as comfortable as the rest of the house. It is still possible though that the windows and walls are the culprit.
I live in Australia and everyone insulates their house but the thing with well insulated House is it’s like a well insulated water bottle once it gets hot it stays hot and once it gets cold it stays cold that’s why you need a good HVAC system
Because of the chemicals used in these spray foams, it is used less and less (in Belgium). There are other ways to insulate a home. PUR is he most effective, I know, but is also very bad for the environment.
You can do what you want but the problem is in the base of the house !!! You need to put insulation on the flor and put flor reating in it not youst put the concreat on the flor and be done with it !!! Your feet will be cold as ice !
0:20 I’m german too and completely disagree. Nobody builds stone on stone no more. If it’s a larger development you pour concrete and if it’s residential you get prefabricated walls and they’re also made of wood.
I have been living in the United States since 2009 and I have to be honest the reason where their is any disaster climate in the east Coast you see houses gets destroyed and flying but I have to be honest the house in the United States is the as strong and sturdy compared to other countries because they used less cement than other countries because they not ready or made for bad calamities it's one of the reason it's faster make a house in the United States

@vitkrivan9380 It's easier to build with wood but it's not necessarily cheaper. This house will cost over a million dollars. The same amount can get you a similar house in Europe because money isn't spent on insulation and waterproofing the wood structure. Also, there are amazing building designs all over the world built using concrete.
Again, he lives in the United States. The western United States to be exact. They build houses out of wood and stucco. This isnt europe. Houses here need to survive earthquakes.
😂 have you seen those charts were they compare the insulating values of concrete or brick vs fibre glass insulation? Just a few inches of insulation has the same insulating effect as almost a couple feet of concrete if I recall right
@@JoPro06 oh ok i didnt know, next time i build a wood chimney or outdoor wood oven im sure to use some wood and a few inches of insulation to make them

Wow, huge update!!
Yes, we're finally getting to the fun stuff!
Rock wool
Fire resistant

If that wall that you're trying to soundproof near your office was a staggered studded wall. It would be 100% soundproof.
I was thinking the same thing
