Looks neat
Does a nice job for a lite plow. Good job!
Yes it does!
Looking good man! Love the intro!!🤘
Thank you sir. That means a lot to me coming from such an awesome content creator such as yourself!
Is that a 12 or 14" bottom?
2 years ago I hadn't heard of Brinly but he invented the steel plow abput the same time John Deere invented a similar tool. The Brinley seems like a fine little tool but they have changed from 3 point to sleeve hitch so hang on to your Brinley! Thanks for video. I love to watch plowing, too bad it has gone out of style.
Congratulations. Now ur a REAL farmer.! 😁 And that's a mighty nice piece of land you have there by the way.
Thanks 👍 I love this plow, the Massey, the land, The Lord, and life! Thanks for watching!
I wonder if the drawbar should be raised and the top link lengthened would give it more clearance and work better in trash. Looks like a must have to me. I always used plows but not many people even know what they are. I also had a disc that I followed up with. New 4.5 or 5 ft. Discs are great for leveling seed bed. I never used a rototiller but put in yards and seeded subdivisions with the disc harrow. Good video. Nice tool and good level gardens.
A handy tool for me was a chain harrow. Mine had a 3 pt. lift(because I put in city yards) and had concrete to avoid. A simple drawbar harrow hooked to disc worked good too and just slip it on disc to move it.
Looks nice! Another tip, take it or leave it- if you drop that coulter down a bit so it's cutting into the soil as you are plowing, it'll make a nicer looking furrow wall and help eliminate trash.
Keep up the great videos!
Great tip, thanks!
Seems like about 2 inches above moldboard is about the right height for the cutter(depending on trash in fiels)
I was going to say the same thing about the coulter. Also...tweak the angle of the top link and raise the trailing wheel a bit, if you can, for a little extra depth. That will make the furrows roll a bit better.
A King Cutter 4.5 disc harrow for about $1100 bucks would make you a happy camper.
I might look at a disc in the future to save some hours on my tiller. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@GreenMountainDIYGuy I never used a tiller. I found that if you tilled the soil it was so soft and fine that if you drove over it the tractor sank in and left marks. The disc would chop upthe dirt and debris and allow rain to soak in and break down soil gradually. If you get a rain instead of sealing up the soil it absorbed it.
Did you add weight?
No.
Wow, Mrs. massey is quite a beauty, WHAT A STEAL 💯
Kinds words from a kind person!
I had a Raymond Massey. Good tractor, too. LOL
Do they still make the Hardy Brinley plow? Plows are a must for gardens.
Only in sleve hitch models. Finding the 3-point model can be a challenge!
You made me look up the Brimley Hardy company. Good outfit. They invented the plow about the same time as John Deere. Loved watching both your plow videos. Makes me want a Massey and plow! Pretty good plowing job for a Newby. Your ready for the Iowa State Level Land Plowing contest! Lol
How about adding a couple(or more) washers to the spacer under the top link. That should cheaply and quickly give you room to hook up top link. I've done this and it works.
Great suggestion. Thank you.
HAHA I have a habbit of holding the dump valve down too.
Ya, just want to make sure it is always down!!!
Hard to find an older plow with cutter wheel and depth wheel intact.
A 4.5 King Cutter disc would do a fine job at lest cost than a rototiller.
