I see nothing wrong with this, it is in the spirit of the game. I searched it after Sean Payton complained. Its obviously inspired by the Rolling Maul in Rugby Union and there has always been sharing of knowledge between football codes. If anything it makes it even more of a team game. I think other teams should adopt it and D coordinators should learn to stop it. The Saints ironically at 5:20 do an excellent job of stuffing it (front attacks low, line backers push it off course.)

The thing you have to do as the defense is get lower than the offensive line. You have to submarine the offensive line to stop their leg drive of the interior 3 and hurts coming right behind kelce.
When you can execute that well and instead of 3 downs to get 10 they utilize the full 4 plays to get 10, then one day in some crazy game they’ll be a huge opportunity for a fake to win somewhere down the line because everyone will expect the sneak.
Looking at the 5 fails in this video, 3 of them shouldn't really count as a true tush push. At 2:32, there was no one pushing Hurts, he was on his own. 5:19 was Minshew, not Hurts. At 0:52, he kind of got pushed, but only barely and it was at the very end of the play. 3:00 was a good, true stop of the tush push, by the Packers, and same with 5:56.
It works and all, I love it when we get these down, but long term it worries as an Eagles fan. These types of plays can lead to injury when defended especially well.
Each team should add a really small acrobatic QB and just have him be catapulted over the line of scrimmage by the RBs and TEs next to him in the victory formation. It's just a different kind of dubious assistance to the QB. You could get at least 3 yards every time. The "we're just tougher than you" argument used by proponents of the Tush Push could change to "We're just more acrobatic than you. Get better." Now that would be fun to watch.
Love this play so much. People complaining about Jalen Hurts getting pushed from behind clearly don’t know football. That happens on every goal line run the linemen try to push the pile forward.
jalen hurts only ran 2 QB sneaks without pushers behind him. 1 resulted in a failed conversion (2:33), the other was the singular game that jalen hurts lost (1:59) coincidence? no
The reason it works, is because Kelce is slick with how he hands the ball off. The other team has to worry about watching the ball before they can move, so they will NEVER be able to move first & half the time they don’t even see the ball handed off cause Kelce is so slick with it. There’s also rules against lining up 2 d lineman on the center. If there’s rules against the defense that will hurt them, then it should be the same on offense. Also, a lot of the eagles line does a false start, including Kelce sometimes. They are moving before the ball moves or at the same time. They aren’t waiting until after it moves.
Why don’t the eagles use this play as a distraction like doing a sneak lateral pass to a back that can easily run the ball around or have Hurts fake the tush push by setting up for it but stepping back once all the lineman are piling up to get either an easy pass, hand off to a running back or run around the pile himself?
Without even watching this yet lol, how in the fuck are you supposed to stop this? It’s just like a big rugby scrum with all that heavy weight moving in unison; meanwhile it takes the defense an extra moment or 2 to react to the snap, and by that time they’ve already gotten it
the biggest mistake these other teams make when trying to defend this is jumping over and dogpiling... almost every instance of the other team doing that leads to them getting ran through like a bullet train. Go Birds!
it's both, the o-line is elite but it requires a lot of core and thigh strength from Hurts, and dude can squat 600 pounds, he's a monster, that's why it always works, they tried doing it with Minshew during the Saints game and it failed miserably because dude is built completely different from Hurts, so it really does show how important the QB is, if you tried doing that with someone like Aaron Rodgers or Mac Jones they would just crumble into a fine paste while going on the pile.
There not trying to ban QB sneak they want to ban the backs pushing the QB every single time into the o line. This is why Tom Brady is still the king of QB sneaks
It can lead to spine injury if we’ll defended ,especially the center if the defense pushes his head down against the turf and for behind the keep pushing

Great play, but you do have to worry about players being pushed forward and possibly having their heads being pushed back, leading to possible neck injuries.
