You will need to be able to pick up spare change with your pliers after you spend all of your money on the tool truck.
Facts lol
I bought the Snap-On talon grips and they are amazing - they are the only Snap-On tool I have, and they are special indeed. Love my Knipex pliers, and the twin grips are just outstanding as well. Spending money on Knipex is usually not wasted - such capable tools.
i love snap on but only my tools that i use the most are snap on like my punches since those see the most abuse. other than that i mostly have original usa made craftsman, proto ,pm and husky with a few icon and Pittsburgh tools thrown in.
I agree they make great tools, but not all of them have to be snap on
I seen him take a cheap pair of like $18 channel locks, a much older one and easily do the same exact thing
They were needlenose pliers but not the extended version or offset angles.
Their hi viz is what keeps pulling me in.
When you can take your fingers off one side of the pliers handle and the coin stays in the jaws it’ll be as good as snap-on
I mean that’s the design of the teeth to hold it in place most needle nose aren’t designed like that’s
Just the regular snap on slip joint talon grip pliers also have awesome teeth and grip. They are like a file sharp.BUT the Icon equivalentr pliers at 18 bucks are even more impressive cuz they are 40 bucks cheaper and at least 92 percent as good as the snap on in my opinion.Icon needs to make the longer nose ones like you pictured.
Ya I will say no one makes a needle nose with that type off tooth pattern which I think is a huge improvement on a needle nose pliers
Great video seen a bunch of those snap on coin videos
Thank you! Waiting for mine to come in the mail now just ordered some they are back in stock.
Those are great plies (ln47acf), and the thing that initially sold me was that dude could hang from a piece of sheet metal.. just silly.. but, they have amazing applications if you need to pull sheet goods of different widths or anything flat. Really great especially if you can grab them for a deal/used.
That’s not the reason why we bought that tool , but good assessment.
bought the snapon because usa made only reason id get snapon just because usa made
They are great tools for sure no doubt about that
This was a fair assessment and I agree with you. Kinda of a sales gimmick but i am really liking my icon stuff even with all my snap on, matco, cornwell and mac tools that i already have. And yes I have some legendary craftsman tools 😂
Nice! Having the tools that get the job is what really matters.
The change deal is a gimmick but the pliers are badd ass and worth every penny. They aren't a standard needle nose. The gimmicks gotta stop from all the companies
I completely agree 👍
The test is to pick up by the rim only meaning the pliers need to be 90 degrees to the coin. The angle your using means it’s biting into the side of the coin.
ICON Pliers Picking up a Coin Again…

@@georgelin8498😂
The 1st time I saw this over a week ago I grabbed my Harbor freight ICON SNAP-ON knockoffs and did it immediately....☝️
Ya even my Pittsburgh ones did it lol
@@DIYDiesel 🤭
Great video, yea not sure why Snap On went all out about the pliers picking up change, but those pliers are awesome, love the grip on them
Thank you, and I am still waiting for them to come off back order missed it by like a day
Because after what they charge us for the damn pliers, we might need to find change in hard to reach spaces to pay for food.
@@ws4835 🤣 lol
My snap on dealer has trouble getting inventory. Waiting for 8 months for an extractor
Damn that sucks
Any pliers can pick up a penny dime or quarter let's see if I can pick up a nickel it is awful convenient you leave out the nickel the one they won't be able to pick up like the snap-on's
Picking up a Nickel like Snap-On can…
@@DIYDieselI’m sorry you have to deal with people like this
@@xaphan8581 meh this isn’t nearly as bad as some people get lol appreciate it tho! 🤘🏼
I have the Icon 8" needle nose pliers. 8" three position slip joint icons which I'm not really impressed with cuz I don't think the jaws line up perfectly like they should. I returned the first set and got a second which the jaws line up a little better but they're still not 100% considering they're supposed to be a professional grade. I have 30 plus year old craftsman slip joint pliers and their jaws line up perfectly. I have this 7-in Diag cutters which actually are really nice and they line up perfect. I got them all a couple weeks ago with a 30% off coupon which is the only time I'll buy the icon stuff at Harbor Freight. So for 14 bucks each to definitely a good value
Everyone has definitely changed how tools have been made, and not for the better
I have some $2 aliexpress plier specials that can do it. It's not just magical snapon pliers.
Harbor freight just announced they releasing a icon replica of snap slip joint needle nose at sema 🎉
Forget the coin test, let's see these other pliers pass the holding your own bodyweight test! 😅
Lol yes lol it is a must for needle nose pliers to be able to do that
Mine must be really screwed up because it will not pick up any coins
I thought this was a cool trick until I could do it with half my Leatherman tools
Ya people seem to go crazy over it for some reason right now lol.
@@DIYDiesel we can't speak for everyone else, but I first thought on a wranglerstar video. It was very impressive once I realized he was grabbing it purely by the lip on the edge. I think it's just so novel because not a lot of people have seen it and it really emphasizes how precise a pair of pliers can really be
Just a smart idea to sell a product is all lol, I love Snap-on but my toolbox is full of mostly ICON
Pretty much lol
I guess people still pick Snap-On when pro uses.
The tools should be able to take all kinds of abuses and last for years. High efficiency of your hand tools can help you with profit generating, too.
For home use you may consider other options.
i dont think i own a single snapon , i dont care if icon is as good, snapon and VERY VERY few others or some of others Klein, Channelock, Malco, Proto, etc. are MADE IN USA. i only buy from the chy knees if i HAVE to , its something very minor not a work day to day tool, USA, then Japan/Germany, then the rest of the planet, with chy nuh at the very very last... SFMF
You ok after that one? lol
They are made in Taiwan there smart guy. Looks like you were asleep in geography class lol
All the snap on fan boys getting mad lol. Relax guys just keep buying ur expensive tools 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I own the pliers just not to pick up Pennie’s lol

People that think Snap-on is all that are only about as bright as a $2 bill. Just sayin
They are good tools, but not everything has to be snap on
@@DIYDiesel they are good tools. But at 10x the price of some that can do the same job. Like I said in my initial comment.
Could you explain the analogy? Bright as 2 dollar bill? English is not my first language. Thx
Good comparison, but everyone is missing the big picture: American manufacturing eroding away by foreign competition
I will pay more to keep my
money here, U.S. Steel foreign owned
In other countries foreign competition is priced out but not here
Gotta save a few bucks
Its the fleecing of America
Harbor Freight employs more US employees than Snap On. Harbor Freight is a private US company owned by a US citizen. Snap On is owned by overseas investors. Snap on sells more overseas products than US made. Harbor Freight butt F@&! Snap On with the Daytona jack and Snap On admitted in court the made in USA jack was made in CHINA BY SUNNEX.
So lets get this right YOU are doing the exact demo that you claim everyone else who does it to demo pliers is STUPID. Just so were on the same page here. I think the 11" Icons are particularly useful for when u see someone who is about to do the coin demo, they have nice reach to give them a quick slap across the face to snap them out of it & get back to work.
I take it you didn’t watch the whole video lol
Fail nice jump cut. And out of frame. Fail
What lol 😆 how many times you want me to pick up a coin lol you obviously didn’t watch the whole video when I talk about why I like them lol
@DIY Diesel I did but as a man that works in a foundry making tool for some of the big name tool companies in the u.s.a. and watching compines colse or move there tools overseas. It gets old watching people talk up tools that are putting tool companies out of business. I take it your a diesel mechanic just imagine people start taking there diesel engines out of the country for repair. Then see some saying you can get the repairs done cheaper all the mechanics do it. As you get laid off.
@@rawwetzel i totally understand that, but you also have to understand not everyone can afford made in America anymore. The point of this video is to show what is really good about the pliers, and I did. I even say basically buy both.
Unfortunately made in America started going off shore since the late 60s, and now really going further with it. Seeing Blue Point go there sucked to see. I will say I am excited to see Milwaukee bringing there hand tool manufacturing supposedly back the the United States soon.
