If having empathy and compassion for our fellow human being is woke, then I'm happy to be accused of being a woke person. And you guys have really hit the nail on the head: that these billionaires do not care about us little people, and that the Kingdom of God is difficult to enter if you're a rich person. The fact that this nation is this wealthy, has so much research and so many advanced medical capabilities, and people are dying because they can't afford treatment is a crime, imo. I absolutely do not condone murder, but it is so easy to understand why it happened. That very same day happened to be when my 11yo learned that other countries have free healthcare. I was like, "Yeah, we're pretty much the only developed nation that doesn't," and I just didn't even know where or how to begin explaining our messed-up healthcare system. I've struggled with terdition within the church, in general, because I believe it stifles the ability for God to speak to us about current times. I've been kicked out of church twice, once had the pastors communicate to my friends and family with admonitions to "break all ties with me" because I had the audacity to ask "what about that or this" type of questions. I feel God draws all kinds to the table. I happen to be a critical thinker to the nth-degree - and God knew that and still chose me to follow. But, apparently, man doesn't like us to follow God's leading if it doesn't align with tradition. So I call it terdition.

We have a teacher at our school who was Waiting for a heart transplant and we had to have a go fund me to help raise money for the medical costs he would incur. Now I know our healthcare system is messed up but...how does someone's need for a heart not automatically get covered 💯? It's disgraceful

There’s tons of fun things you can do with very young children in groups. Messes are something that you can plan 💯😂. We used to plan an Olympics for all the kiddos at the beginning of summer, harvest parties to start the school year off, white elephant xmas parties just for the kids to make gifts for their family & friends and exchange gifts amongst themselves. The kiddos are all grown now and have started having kids of their own, but they all still stay connected and get together on their own just like they did when we created those opportunities for them growing up. I think encouraging lifelong friendships in our children we have done them a favor & I look forward to seeing it’s continuation in the new generations coming. The bathroom adventure stories were quite amusing. I have a vigorous digestive system that is morning oriented. I avoid early morning plane flights when I travel for this reason. Despite the fact that I love flying, I'm always keyed up and this kicks the already vigorous system into overdrive. Inevitably I'd have to make a mad dash for the restroom when it's time to board. What is ironic is when I get to my destination, everything locks up and I have just the opposite problem. So incredibly annoying.

I’m a lawyer. I’m not a constitutional law professor, but this is not a tough concern to address at 30:08. Thomas was the only concurring justice in Dobbs that hinted at going after Obergefell. Not even this hyper conservative Supreme Court wants to on after gay marriage. By all indications, they recognize that battle is lost. You cannot say that about other hotly debated social issues, but gay marriage is not on the chopping block. In fairness, however, Thomas did not explicitly say that he is going to after Obergefell because he hates gay people-he would go after Obergefell because he does not believe in a legal doctrine (substantive due process) that gave rise to Obergefell. Most people think this reasoning is very flawed, but it is grounded in reason nonetheless. I don’t think anyone will accomplish anything by calling Thomas a bigot. I’m not saying he’s not, but I think time is much more effectively spent by average people to have some understanding of how we have legal gay marriage in the first place. Personal comment of Laura Botten: You're good, April! I know people say "go to the doctor". You know your body the best! It's sooooo annoying when people give unsolicited medical advice. I have a bunch of chronic conditions and if I say "sorry, my hand's shaking, I have Essential Tremors" and they say "oh, my friend has Parkinson's (looks the same) and they... have you talked to your doctor?" Listen, I've had it all my life, it gets worse with age and stress, my dad and his twin have it because it's genetic, we deal, I know how to function. But because they've heard about it for the first time they want all your history of how you've settled into your life with your body. It sounds as stupid as Trump discovering the word "groceries". You do you! You know when you have to go to the doctor. That goes for parents of small children. I took my daughter at about a year to Emerg in the middle of the might because she was unusually fussy. I was in my early 20s and the nurse is muttering "can't get her baby to sleep so she comes here...." Well, her eardrum was about to burst! Sorry to inconvenience you, but I know my baby isn't acting like herself. THAT'S when you see a doctor. When it is unusual for you.
At the 14 minute mark I have one slight correction. TikTok is actually not a Chinese Company. Only 20% of the company is owned by Chinese citizens. 60% is owned by global investors and the last 20% is owned by employees of the company. It has nothing to do whatsoever past the 20% owned by Chinese citizens. The CEO is Singaporean and lives in Los Angeles. The CEO has never had any affiliation with the CCP and has never even lived in China. Government and media took the 20% ownership to use as an excuse to ban because of said FB and Former blue bird company having to compete with it. Not to mention that the algorithm on TT is so much better at allowing people to get their message out so we the people are more informed on current events with TT than we are on other platforms. THAT is why the government wants it banned. It actually has absolutely nothing to do with China.

And what do you do when you have multiple men in a family? I have a dad and two uncles and a male cousin, so do they all get a vote or just one? And what happens when multiple people in the family have different priorities, does the man just vote for himself and say screw the women, or is he supposed to be “chivalrous” and vote on behalf of one or more women in the family even if that would also mean voting against his own interests?
I’m a lawyer. I’m not a constitutional law professor, but this is not a tough concern to address at 30:08. Thomas was the only concurring justice in Dobbs that hinted at going after Obergefell. Not even this hyper conservative Supreme Court wants to on after gay marriage. By all indications, they recognize that battle is lost.
You cannot say that about other hotly debated social issues, but gay marriage is not on the chopping block.
In fairness, however, Thomas did not explicitly say that he is going to after Obergefell because he hates gay people-he would go after Obergefell because he does not believe in a legal doctrine (substantive due process) that gave rise to Obergefell. Most people think this reasoning is very flawed, but it is grounded in reason nonetheless.
I don’t think anyone will accomplish anything by calling Thomas a bigot. I’m not saying he’s not, but I think time is much more effectively spent by average people to have some understanding of how we have legal gay marriage in the first place.
I despise the idea of Evangelicals running the country and think they already have too much power. But at this point, eradicating Christian nationalism will not move the needle on the argument of gay marriage being over turned, and it’s not really a threat anyway

Personal comment of Laura Botten: Drones... Sometimes the official "excuse" is more concerning than the facts. During COVID BC said it was "too hard" to control the border between Alberta and BC (there are 2 roads) and the one to the Yukon. Without debating reaction to COVID restrictions, what do you mean my province with 3 international borders can't possibly control a forth? US to the south, ocean (which is way harder than land) and Alaska. Really??? It's "too hard"? Just say you don't want to do it!

I think the larger question is when is armed resistance justified? Is it in the Ukraine? Was it during the Civil War? Was it for indigenous folk in North America centuries ago against foreign invaders? Perhaps Jesus's nonviolence was based on apocalyptic eschatology, the belief God was going to soon intervene and "make things right." But that never happened (and I would add isn't going to).

As far as the murder of the CEO. Yeshua said that it is necessary that offenses come. But woe to those through whom they come. I believe that Oct. 7, 2023 was one of these offenses. Not to be insulting but being religious is when it comes to defending your own rights as a human being. Religion is meant to protect the interest of the powerful. The Bible was written by ancient “CEOs” and “Shareholders” in its own right because religion had real currency, and real power went to those who were the leaders of it.
