@@bouya5692Nope he's right. Most boxers today wrap their hands too much and don't condition their hands. If you practice bare knuckle often you'll strengthen the bones in your hand and it'll prevent injuries. I'm speaking from experience, well over a decade boxing without a hand injury and I'm a pretty heavy hitter. I took a break for a year and when I went back my wrists got weak until they were toughened up again from bare knuckle training.
@@kingc8531 It's a balancing act, their is really nothing wrong with bare knuckle practice. It does an amazing job in teaching you the correct form when your in an actual fight. @@kingc8531the wrist strengthening is legitimate and if you are just talking about toughening up the skin with callouses you have a point but from my understanding you actually don’t want to toughen up the actual knuckle bones themselves. From what I’ve heard it creates micro fractures that heal and become harder but more brittle so when they do break it is more catastrophic then if your bones were softer. This is just from the knowledge I have picked up and I do occasionally bare knuckle the bag because I see the merit of it but it definitely seems like there is a point where it’s detrimental
I just use a good set of bag gloves. I believe they're around 6 oz. I've been using those for years. I've been through about 20 pairs. I also wrap my hands. The Cleto Reyes ones I'm using now are excellent gloves. They've lasted the longest out of any of the other ones I've used. I usually get about 6 months to a year before I start breaking the padding. I believe I'm going on 2 years with these, but to be fair, I haven't been training as much as I used to.
@@Yes-xk9blbecause if you train with bad technique you’re likely to sprain your wrists connecting with the bag. Hence “make sure your hand is landing correctly.” It was a mistake I made when I was like 9 yrs old and I never forgot 😅
I used to have a smaller type bag hanging from my bedroom ceiling and when punching it as hard as i could, it would swing up halfway to the ceiling. I then joined a gym and would spend up to a hour and a half at a time, punching their much bigger professional type suspended bag from the ceiling. After a few weeks, on hitting my smaller bag at home, even when jabbing it, it would fly up and smash into the ceiling. The increase in my punching power was incredible because I'd been hitting a much heavier bag that I'd found to be uncomfortable to hit when I first started as it jarred my body with each punch. The calf muscle in my right leg also increased greatly in size.

Bare knuckle is fine yall just as long as your not throwing fucking haymakers trying break ur wrist. Just throw light punches to correct your form or warm up (LIGHTLY!) before throwing gloves on. It’s not good to repetitively do this because personally for me it damages my knuckle and hand in general, usually hate that burning sensation when I’m bleeding out my hands and it’s time to throw gloves on and hit more.
