- In the third round of THE PLAYERS Championship 2021, Lee Westwood carded a 4-under 68, leading by two shots going into the final round on Sunday.

THE PLAYERS Championship returns to TPC Sawgrass after 2020’s unprecedented cancellation after the first round due to the emerging coronavirus pandemic. Dustin Johnson - the reigning FedExCup champion and current World No. 1 - leads a field that includes 27 of the top 30 in the current FedExCup standings and 47 of the World’s top 50. With no champion crowned last year, Rory McIlroy - who would go on to win the FedExCup for the second time after winning THE PLAYERS in 2019 - will look to defend his title from two years ago. In total there will be 108 PGA TOUR winners teeing it up at TPC Sawgrass, but who will emerge victorious?

Where was this putting and chipping in his 30s.
He seems so relaxed out there. Just playing for fun.
I didn't see the first two rounds so I can't comment on that, but his putting wasn't very good today. If he could have drained some of those makeable putts in the first 9, he could easily have a 4 or 5 shot lead right now. And his chipping? He didn't chip much at all. He mostly took out the putter when he was just off the green. He's not confident with the chipping.
@@stumarston6812 u must have missed his back nine. Even on front -4 on back. He’s putted great the last couple weeks. Was always a weakness for him
@@AB-nv7bz He didn't putt well on the front nine. He had 9 pars and numerous makeable birdie putts. He sank none of them.

Did I watch last week? Yep. And his final round putting wasn't good. He got outplayed by Bryson, including Bryson putting better.

He’s not normally as solid as this though.

Westy is so good it is sick. It is interesting to hear the commentators discuss his putting after he has won so many tournaments. They also forget he was known for making an insane amount of bombs on the European tour. Proving their idiocy and lack of knowledge regarding this storied professionals career. He challenged Montgomery often, who was one of the most prolific winners of his generation. Of course, their only knowledge comes from reviewing stats from the past 20 years. Having grown up watching this legend, you learn so much more so I guess I should be kind. But, I won’t you freaking idiots! Ha ha

Westwood doesn’t have a bad short game, but relative to the rest of his game it has clearly been a weakness. Tee to green, he is an all time great. His short game has prevented him from winning multiple majors and many more tour events
Westwood admits himself that ball striking has always been the strength of his game and chipping/putting is his weakest part.

Well, they seem to have a great relationship, and maybe she is part of the reason he is still competitive at his age. At this level of play the game is 90% mental, as all these players have the physical skills. I’m certainly pulling for him on Sunday.
