    Gee, Gary, a great review from a guy who seems like a next door neighbor. No stupid catch phrases, no shouting, no hillbilly antics. You've "sorta'" convinced me to buy one. I already have a kamado, a pellet unit, a Karubecue smoker and a drum smoker. Now you have me jonsin' for a Blackstone just like yours. One thing I didn't understand-would I need 110 volt power for the warming drawer if I weren't using the air-friers?

    • @gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837
      @gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837  4 года назад

      Paul thanks for the kind words. I’m just a guy in a back yard doing what I like. Yes the power cord runs the whole bottom air fryer and warmer. To be honest I’ve yet to use the warmer drawer which I thought I would. The air fryer feature is cool but if you already have one inside you may want to consider the pro series which is essentially the same thing without the air fryer. I love and use them but could easily do everything I cook without it.

      From my understanding, the 110 is for the blower fan for the air fryers. They actually get the heat from propane

    I just put mine together yesterday! Boy...it was 2 months of waiting (everyone was out of stock!) and a hassle to drive an hour to go get it BUT I got my virgin flaxseed oil and I'm seasoning her up today if all goes well!
    Also, there may be 1 or 2 people out there like me but I switched the shelfs around! I didn't want all the dangly stuff hanging down right in front of the propane access. Now the magnetic strip is on the back right and out of the way. Great tip on the rubbermaid btw. I'll get one soon. Thanks for vid :)

    My old gas grill I've had for more than 15 years and it's about done. I purchased a new Weber propane BBQ grill and a real wood Oklahoma Joe smoker. The one thing that my new Weber doesn't have is a solid griddle section the way my old Charmglow BBQ had. I could start out with potatoes, then cauliflower, then broccoli and finish with thin asparagus and stuffed mushrooms. Putting the vegetables on that required longer cook time first and then adding the others while tossing on meat on the actual grill portion made some amazing meals. My new Weber lacks the griddle so I've been looking at these different styled stand alone griddles since I don't have a combo set up. At my new place I have a lot more space, adding a third cooking device is no problem and with hot summers and electrical outages a gas griddle just outside the kitchen makes all of the sense in the world. I will buy one of these in the next few days!!! I can hardly wait, thanks for the info and review and all of the helpful tips!

      Dan I have not experienced that. Sometimes smoke and debris can accumulate on the lid and eventually flake off giving the appearance of degradation but it isn’t. Thanks Ed and great questions. I keep it where it is all the time and run an extension cord when I use the air fryers. It has to stay about 6 to 8 inches from the house to allow room for the lid to open so it’s fine. It rolls easy though so would fine if you pull it out each time. Just make sure it’s fairly level and the grease can flow to the trap in the back. It’s a dream to use!

    • @gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837
      @gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837  4 года назад +1

      Good question Preston. I use my griddle at least twice per week and usually keep all the burners on low and probably get two months or mor from a tank. That said my altitude, number of burners on, and length of cook all create variables so your mileage will vary. I always have a spare tank close by so you never have to worry. I guess it would be comparable to a gas grill? Thanks for watching!

      I do use this more than my other grills because of breakfast and stir fry meals. I however don’t use the air fryers as much as I thought because we have one inside but I will say they really work well and I like them. You don’t really save much leaving them out so I say a hundred bucks or so over many years I’d get them. Thanks for taking the time to watch!

      Hi Ron great question. If I want my best steak I use my Weber Kettle with Grill grates. I find nothing replaces the smoke taste. That said I use my pellet grill the most for most proteins because it so dang easy and does a fantastic job. We griddle several times per week too though mostly for stir fry and breakfast. I always use my big offset for catering gigs because you can’t beat the flavor but it is high maintenance. Basically have to feed it more wood every 20 min or so. Honestly I use them all fairly regularly but use my three WSMs the least these days.

    • @gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837
      @gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837  4 года назад

      Hi Alma I just clean it like a cast iron skillet. While it’s still warm scrape off any food with a food grade scraper and wipe clean. Then apply a light coat of oil. For stubborn cooked on food a little water when it is hot will steam and deglaze the surface so you can oil it. Be careful with a hot griddle applying water because it will steam and can burn you. Here is a video I did on cleaning mine. Hope this helps. ruclips.net/video/qrGZQPQutqY/видео.html

    Thank you for your review. I just fired up my Blackstone grill recently for the first time. There are so many issues with it that I don’t recommend anyone buy it. First, on a windy day, your grill is basically useless. Only the center heats up. I had placed a plastic container on the side shelf which melted from the wind causing the burner flames to spread, I almost burnt my hand grabbing the container. This grill is intended to be used outdoors but only when there is no wind or if you spend more money buying wind guards which is ridiculous. The air fryer fan makes a loud rattling sound, so loud that it is unbearable and disrespectful towards your neighbours. The hinges on the lids are simply one cheap screw which bends and won’t last. The grill cover which must be purchased separately is heavy duty, however, is at least 1 foot too short and exposes the bottom shelf which quickly fills up under the rain. Why is there no drain holes on the bottom shelf and how cheap is Blackstone for selling you an expensive cover that only goes down half the grill?

    • @gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837
      @gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837  2 года назад

      Wow Ara sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I am lucky enough to have mine on a covered porch so it is protected fairly well from wind and rain. I have no loud fan noise and would recommend calling their customer service on that. I have also melted a plastic bottle on the side shelf too close to the heat even without wind so that is something I’ve learned to be aware of. That said my Blackstone has been a wonderful addition to my grill stable and I use it several times per week.

      Hey that’s a great question! My siding is wood but I’ve had no issue whatsoever with discoloration etc. It has to be about 6 or 7 inches away to accommodate opening the lid anyway so you should be good. Just keep an eye on it and touch the wall with your hand at first. I’m sure if needed you could put up something to protect it. Thanks for taking the time to watch! Have a great weekend.

    We've used this griddler for a variety of items including steak, fish, vegetables ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMcXT6_MuT0hB3ejyGQQHaeof9bwoWPUf and mushrooms and it's been great! Gets that great smokey flavor when using high heat or sear. The grill works amazingly simple and very low smoke for what it is. Heat gets up fairly quick, especially on closed position. The griddler side is fairly simple, better for eggs and pancakes rather than any cooking. Use the flat plates with the grill side if needed.Cleanup is easy and having heat on both sides is great for cooking a large amount or panini press.This definitely gets hot though so be careful with the sides.
