It wasn't until this video that I realized you could mix and match omnipods from different omnipod sets. I remember distinctly being dissapointed after i unlocked my second omnipod set that on the viper that, I couldn't use certain parts from certain omnipod sets...
You can do it on MW:O as well. Both my Mad Dogs are heavily modified due to that feature. One is Medium Lasers x4 and SRM6+Artemis x6. Has great management. One shots most mechs. I'd like to see Mechwarrior Online get updated to reflect Mechwarrior 5 so that the two single/coop games and the PvP game both can benefit from any advancements. Also....where the heck is my Fire Moth? I hope they add it in a coming Clans expansion.
@BrokkrtheDwarf like the mad dog build...but gotta say I don't think the dasher will be put I the game it's a little delicate when hit so the game wouldn't reward you for choosing it as it would die so quickly against the enemy ai sadly.
@@lukedudley5030 They had it in Mechwarrior 2, and Mechwarrior 2: Mercs. Unsure why they couldn't have it in these games, as they've got other 20 tonners (specifically the Locust and the Flea, which are inner sphere--whereas the Dasher is Clantech).
@BrokkrtheDwarf yeah you're right but with the amount of enemy this game throws at you the dasher will lose all its weapons in a couple of hits so they probably thought it best kept out...not saying I like the idea but speed doesn't really keep you that safe in this game it's kind of designed to go as heavy as possible to survive sadly
That's a great Stormcrow build. I used a tankier version with slightly less firepower. Head has 1 MPL, each side torso has 1 ERSL and 1 ton ferro armor pod, and each arm has 1 ton ferro armor pod.
I had a similar build with a MPL in the head and not as much armor or cooling and was having trouble with it, crazy how that one switch makes this build rock much harder! Sure wish that last achievement was killing assaults in a medium mech instead of light, this would be my go to!
I did a almost identical build yesterday, but with only er medium. The alpha was extremely powerful but almost overheats you with one strike. And er small was to much tonnage left over. Will try your m pulse + er small mix. :)
Honestly, it's cool- but it also lacks in range. I feel like this is a great choice for a player who refuses to upgrade their sensors (which makes longer range weapons much, much worse.) It's a fabulous knife fighting Stormcrow.
If you haven't figured out how to get your 'Weapon Groups' to save, this is what you do: In the Mech Bay select "Modify Mech', in the lower right corner, then select "Edit Weapon Groups" in the lower left corner and you're done. Now if you have a Star-Mate use that Mech you will have to set them back up again, because they are too 'smooth Brained' to do it your way. 😉
I have been liking your builds! Thank you for making them! Do you have any 'splat' mech builds? Like SRM spam with high armor? Like the Kintaro from MW5:Mercs
@@kumarsalib722that’s not true and exactly why I was asking. The nova has the exact same armour value (1 more actually if you kit it exactly like he does in his video which isn’t required), it has more cooling and the same dps (again a little higher, but not by much) The only real difference is that the storm crow has a bit longer range because of the pulse lasers and is 15 kph faster, but it can’t jump and doesn’t have AMS (if you leave the ams on the nova you can actually get even more armor up into the 500s) It seems like both are pretty much the exact same with slightly different flavours
So, why not show us this mech in a real mission instead of this shooting gallery? Btw, putting as much lasers on a mech as you can was already frowned upon during MW2. "No Christmas Trees" was a thing back then. I tried one of your builds (Viper) and it made the game laughably easy AF - and pretty boring. Pew, pew... Booom. I wouldn't refer to your videos as "good gameplay tips".
No problem mate. You've got a different opinion and I respect that. Just also know that I'm okay with you not liking it, my content is for the thousands of people that do.
@@gofur73 Don’t know where you were playing, but laser vomit was a very common archetype in the Grand Council and TKZ leagues for MW2, unless you were playing NH, UA. I, for one, welcome it’s return!

Another great build! Thank you! I too, like may others have said below, didn't know we could mix and match omnipod sets!
Your Nova build taught me how to make my own build and I'm proud to say, this one I actually thought of myself :D
Thank you so much for the build videos! All of them are going into my Mechwarrior Clans playlist.
Glad you like them!

Thank you, for the eye pleasing color scheme...❤
Welcome 😊
This has been super helpful. Can you do a series on builds for squad mates? Having trouble optimising their builds to make use of their skills
Ever since I unlocked the Nova I have been melting mechs on expert
@@kaoticsymphony4279 it’s so damn fun! My star rolls with 2 Mad Cats and 2 Summoners and I roll with the Murder Nova build.

Nice build, going to try it for the heir to the dragon mission. Last part is near impossible.
55 tons available in my LANCE? Filthy freebirth!!!

I actually planned a nice SRM bomber for the next build :)
It's really cool to see PGI resurrect such an old genre like point and click adventure games. Bit odd the only option is use laser on mech though
Missiles? Nah. Ballistics? Why bother? Lets just... laser everything
Because the lasers in the game is better than equipping anything else. The balancing between weapons is crap.

Why is my mech over 3 tons over tonnage if the same parts are installed?
Because you don't have the same components in them most likely. You gotta go omnipod by omnipod, there's a reason I do it in that much detail.
Nova with 14 small lasers can do the same.
is this build viable in MWO?
Might be. Would not go post 6 ERs due to ghost heat though.
Is it really a build if the answer is always “load on as many medium pulse lasers as possible”?
Isn’t this kind of just worse than the 14 small laser nova build?
It's faster and has more armor, but no jump jets.

I dont a couple heat sinks and added a targeting computer
How to ruin the game experience :D

Man, that's like yout own opinion :)
This is one of the most unnecessary comments I’ve ever seen lmao
Sounds like someone is a Clanner who believes war has rules.
