It's good at move airmass if it is completely unrestricted. It's loud when its put to near to intake mesh or filter. Having low pressure means that has difficulty to win restrictions and must be put very near to the parts to cool.

Reminds me of an airboat propeller. Definitely an airflow-focused design.

Why does this guy have static pressure testing on an airflow fan?....

So if I use a dust filter, which will effect airflow, would it be better to get the NF-P12? Or the NF-S12B is still better with a dust filter? Using as intake.

P12s have a resonance issue. If you can get over that. They’re great.

Hey mate, great video, im planing upgrade my rig, and i was wondering, witch fan would be the best, and the second best as front intake in a Corsair 4000D airflow? Thanks in advance !

Hi. I'm currently using Thermalright TL-C12C-S as front and rear case fans. I'm looking for a fan with the same cooling power but quieter. Is this model suitable? By the way, does the Noctua NF-P12 model run quieter than the Thermalright TL-C12C-S? (at same RPM).

To be fair, two or three case fans are more than adequate on a normal PC and I have tried even one fan builds that were working perfectly fine.

But how can it be, budget and noctua in the same sentence??!! Simply impossible!
Jokes apart, the og s12 are renowned as good case fans, interested to see how these hold up in comparison

What does the graph at 3:50 say really? I interpret it as good = low dB + low temp, meaning that NF-A12x25, SF120 and Arctic bionics P120 are significantly better at everything compared to all other fans. Cooling performance and noise levels are just on another level. NF-S12 are junk in comparison, at any point of the curve. But maybe I'm seeing it wrong??

    • @STSYT
      @STSYT  Год назад +2

      You're seeing everything as intended.
The point of these graphs is that some fans (like the A12x25) have so much performance overhead that you can let them spin at minimal speeds to get the same results as a S12B.
That doesn't mean that the S12B doesn't have a valid use case. But that you will "need" to make it spin much faster to make it even comparable to an A12x25. This will then lead to more noise, which will then lead to a worse noise-to-performance graph. Not even speaking about the fact that they are just unable to get the temp as low as the A12s nomatter their speed.
That being said, you may want to take a look at our "how we benchmark fans" video. There I explain everything in detail.
But the important part of that video is that all the numbers are incredibly inflated in order to create a "measurable" difference. The noise numbers will stay the same, but for the °C numbers, you can basically divide the difference between 2 fans by 3.
But the point is still standing. An A12x25 will be better than a S12B at nomatter the task. But just a tiny bit.

Did you mean Pulse Width Modulation or Pizza Vending Machine?
if it's Pulse Width Modulation you're talking about then It's called PWM (pee double you em) not PVM...i noticed this on multiple of your videos

Just a comment about build quality. In my opinion the redux fans are far superior to the arctic P12. Build quality is maybe 80-90% of the normal noctua lineup. P12 are of such poor quality, that if you need 3 you buy 4 because one of them is gonna have some vibration, strange noises etc. You get what you pay for..

you get what you pay for in terms of noise, artic still is worse off in noise levels. If that that doesnt bother you then of course artic is more logical choice.

I have to disagree. Their fans are crazy silent while delivering great performance. I’m very happy with my A12s and F12s and soon be installed S12A chromax.
