I used to make bagels, muffins, and donuts for Wegmans during college. The muffins and donuts are mostly pre-baked and frozen but the bagels are the real deal, like this. This video brought me back, I can smell the boiling water on the yeast and the baking dough in the oven. Those were some awesome years.
Because it just doesn’t pay that well unless you get into actual baking as a trained profession, and then it’s like any other industry you might succeed or flop, but I was just doing a good job to have based around my class schedule and Wegmans is very flexible about hours

One of the best bagel in NY is from a place called Lox in Saugerties Ny. You get an "everything bagel bacon egg and cheese grilled with hotsauce" you'll never want another breaky sammy again.
And then they deep fry it and cover it in a aggressive amount of vodka sauce
