I just purchased the Harbor Freight Chicago Electric pendant rotary tool. It cost me $30 with coupon. I have used others but let me tell you as a wood carver. This thing is awesome.
The foot pedal while cheaply made, works great, the motor is plenty powerful. The handpiece is better than I expected
Best of all, It is 100% compatible with Foredom hand pieces. You can use a Foredom brand or Chinese knock offs. They fit fine.
I use a Dremel 4300 with flex shaft too for wood carving. The HF one is quickly becoming my favorite.
Not sure why I would pay more.
Did I mention how much I dislike the crapy Ryobi brand anything but especially their batteries.
Never had any luck with Ryobi lasting more than a few months without issues.

Thanks for the video. I didn't buy the kit, but I've been thinking about the foot pedal. Thanks to your video, I won't be buying the pedal since it does not turn the tool off. To me this is an incredible safety issue. If Ryobi fixes this problem, I will buy the pedal

LOTS OF ERRORS IN YOUR PRESENTATION. 1) Running the tool WITHOUT pedal attached- min setting ALSO RUNS THE TOOL WHEN POWER SWITCH IS ‘ON’ and knob is at min setting. 2) Spinning output with foot-pedal connected is a SAFETY FEATURE- unit is ‘armed’ and pressing the pedal WILL RUN THE UNIT AT PEDAL INPUT SPEED. Hope y’all find these comments helpful.

Great analogy! Batman always has the more sophisticated gear, but Green Lantern always gets the job done!

Maybe get a $19 phone stand so you can stop fumbling around. Just some constructive criticism my friend, no I’ll intent, it’s just a bit frustrating trying to watch you struggle.

Did you ever find out if Dremel cut off wheels work on the Ryobi mandrel? I feel like the Dremel ez quick change collet wobbles too much, the Ryobi one looks to be more secure

The Dremel tools don't fit the Ryobi tool well, but you can use the Dremel quick change shaft in the Ryobi tool.
