    Bless you ma'am, all these videos I've watched after buying a new fan that was running too fast and it was the correct one just to find out I could lube the old one! Many thanks!

      Thank you so much! I appreciate that. Yes, I would have used sewing machine oil, if I'd had some. :)

    Thanks very much for this. I think I will probably buy a new fan rather than trying to fix the original one. Do you know what the fan dimensions are, and connector type?

    • @TechNoPhobiaGirl
      @TechNoPhobiaGirl  Год назад +1

      You're very welcome. I believe it's a 'standard' 80x25mm fan, but I didn't actually measure it. It has a 'standard' 3-pin fan connector, which you should be able to see in the video. Now, I have NO IDEA if it's actually a 'STANDARD' fan, cuz of proprietary BS that these companies like to pull, but I'm ASSUMING you SHOULD be able to plug in a standard 3-pin fan and it'll work fine. I didn't try it, however, cuz I had no need to. You could TRY to research it on 'The Google,' if you wish, but I've found that kind of research to be rarely helpful. Good luck!

      @@TechNoPhobiaGirl many thanks, I’ll order a quiet fan with those measurements, and also arm myself with a can of WD40 just in case it doesn’t fit. The PC is in the living room connected to the TV for streaming and gaming, and the fan is driving me nuts! 😂 Thanks again!

    When you say noise, what kind of noise please? My PSU fan spins too fast thus creating a loud noise. So not sure if it is the same issue as yours.

    • @TechNoPhobiaGirl
      @TechNoPhobiaGirl  3 года назад

      Don't really know HOW to describe the noise. It's kind of a squealing/grinding/rattling sound maybe? If your fans are running at high speed ALL THE TIME then very likely you have a build-up of dirt/dust/fur in your CPU cooler and/or other parts of the system. Open your PC and use compressed air (canned air) to blow out the dust from the entire system. If that doesn't quieten down your system fans then I don't know what else to tell you.

    I used thick grease instead of DW40, plus I had reduced 12V going to the fan using resistance. Now you can't even hear it running especially using SSD instead of noisy HDD.

    • @TechNoPhobiaGirl
      @TechNoPhobiaGirl  2 года назад +1

      Nice! I wouldn't use grease, but whatever works, I guess.

    • @HassanHassan-iv7lk
      @HassanHassan-iv7lk 2 года назад +2

      @@TechNoPhobiaGirl Just grease will last longer due to its consistency compared to DW40, You also need to reduce the voltage feeding the fan. Greetings from North West Ireland.

    my cpu frond and back fan runing very hight with hight noise what should i do

    • @TechNoPhobiaGirl
      @TechNoPhobiaGirl  2 года назад

      If the computer is working properly, then the only thing I can think of is the CPU cooler/heatsink is jammed up with dust/fur. If the CPU is too hot then the system will ramp up ALL the fans in order to TRY to cool the CPU. Pull off the plastic CPU shroud (I show it in the video) and see if the CPU cooler fins are jammed up with dust. If so, use a brush and/or compressed air to blow out the dust. Also check the main front fan and intake, and the power supply fan.
