An Irish Review of Persona 3 Reload

I spent 3 straight days doing nothing but working on this video the hyperfixation buff is real.

Persona 3 Reload is amazing, but not perfect nor definitive, but it's absolutely the most fun I have had in any Persona game. Also I didn't know anything about the Elizabeth boss fight so the one clip of it you see was my first time understanding the Megidolaon meme.

I actually prefer link episodes to social links for party members. The problem with social links is that 1. They must exist in a time bubble so that you can do them at anytime 2. They are optional so the development of the character cant reflect on the main sotry. Link episodes solves 1 completely, 2 on the other hand is unavoidable. Since they dont need to have 10 events like a normal social link there can be less of them but longer, plus they can be written with the main plot in mind and expand deeper upon it. P4 is my second favourite persona but having all the devlopment of the main cast relageted to optional content is the mayor problem i had with it, link episode could be the solution to this.

You make a great point and like I said I fuckin adored them anyway (koromarus nearly had me in tears). Obviously the best thing would be to get both links and episodes, but that's probably unrealistic to expect since that'd be a LOT of content. I wanna be on copium for that though

But i would definitely want an improvement of this system in p6. What if you mixed link episodes and social links for a brand new social party system? Parctically a social link which you could only advance after story related events like kasumis and sojiros social link in p5

@@leosee-through6147 considering sumi was my favourite character I'd love to see another take on the style of her link, same with sojiro. That is one thing I've never been a huge fan of with social links is they can be jarring. Like chidori just died but it's fine because me and mitsuru are eating burgers. More tie ins to what's going on would make them feel much less like side stories and more like actual parts of the characters to me

the thing with the linked episodes (hangouts with the bois) they probably shouldn't be social links because
1) which arcana would they be tied to
2) that makes managing links even more stressful if you want to max them all out
3) one of them is -time limited- which adds a level of stress for players who either already know and are min maxing and newer/forgetful players who might get the link to like 3 stars then forget about it and now their fusions in that arcana are always worse off. AS WELL AS the ultimate persona being gated off.
i would love for those social links to be a thing but theres already so many and awuiring telos is already stressful(?) enough as is
