    Though I'm a fan of the B-47, there's no argument that the Badger was/is far more successful. Allowing for the different builder, it seems to hold the record for longest continuous production!

    This is one of the first Russian aircraft to capture my attention when I was a kid (I'm 59 now). I have always liked Russian aircraft for their unique designs, unique from western aircraft. Maybe it has something to do with my last name being 'Sikorski' (used to have a 'y' on the end instead of an 'i', something about purges and escaping to Poland, then America.) But regardless, the Tu-16 was my introduction to a whole other world of aircraft. Thanks for the great video!

    Our Air Force operated 2 squadron during the 60's, unfortunately when New Era Regime took power, they disposed it from the service

    The British v bomber the vulcan kept going until early 90s so it carried on for a while from the 60s like u said & switch its tactics to low level missions as it was well suited to low level flying

    9:05 Mentions US F14 extending engagement ranges from fleet to 500km.
    Also 9:05 Doesn't mention that the Russian attack profile was to mass launch at ~1200km with a mid course guidance aircraft at ~600-800km away. Doctrine called for launch from 36-72 aircraft with 2 missiles each, 1 in 10 of which would be nuclear. US carrier battle groups would be dead within ~8 hours of a war starting.

    Although their actual "purposes" may be different, the "P-8A" and "P-1" can carry more weapons and have a longer range than the "H-6" owned by the PLAAF and PLANAVY. In an emergency, the "P-8A" and "P-1" can also be used as "strategic bombers."

    • @LAWNMOWERBLADEMAN
      @LAWNMOWERBLADEMAN 26 дней назад +1

      Correction , The H-6 has a far more heavier weapons payload ( meaning it can carry bigger , heavier missiles and bombs ) , later H-6 variants such as the H-6K/N have refueling probes ( inflight capabilities ) their range can be extended , the H-6 is also faster.
      Yeah OK , Seriously Put down the pipe , The day that the US would have to use a P-8A as an “strategic bomber” would mean their War had gone terribly terribly wrong. At that point a C-130 would be a better option.

      @@LAWNMOWERBLADEMANhe said P8 and P1, so likely Japanese.
      They have this weird fantasy of using the P8 as a strategic bomber as seen in some of those "another world" Web novels😂
