Idk if she really sold herself as ‘rich girl’. She definitely liked calling herself ‘hot girl’ and its a little sad to see that she feels the need to get fake designer items to complete the hot girl image, but I like watching her for her personality and style ( not the designer ones), and also for how often she uploads, which shows how hard working she is. Like if you like Yeezy's but don't wanna spend 800 (Idk their price) on a dang shoe, you get the dupe. Or like some weird shoes I've been seeing recently (I don't know the brand but they look like crocs but instead of small holes it's full on gaps all over and the entire shoe is bulky). Someone may like it and decide they want a shoe that looks like it so they find the dupe and get almost the same look for cheaper 😊 Unfortunately some people get the dupes to try and show off or act like their dupes are real for validation or whatever 🤷🏿‍♀️

If you have a fake gucci bag, would you go around telling people that it's fake. The moment you buy and uses it, people are going to think that it's the real thing. Jia is already reflecting on what she did. And by the way @Princess, the apartment is not "Cheap." It cost $4,000 to rent that one-room apartment. Mortgage payment on a whole HOUSE that you buy is roughly $1k to 4k already. Normal rent cost in Korea is only a few hundred dollars, not thousands. That apartment is not "CHEAP," it's extremely expensive because a lot of popular Korean celebrities live there with high security. There's nothing wrong with renting an apartment.

What's wrong with renting an apartment? I'm so confused. She's still living in the apartment, and it's not like she rented it only for a few hours to make videos. Jia is also right about her apartment's worth to be around ~3 million. Her company also confirmed that she's paying for it by herself. $4,000 a month is still a LOT of money to rent an apartment. Jia is definitely rich but not ultrarich. Jia also explicitly said that she is not a "golden spoon" in her old video. She never lied about her background or her rich family. People just kept assuming things because of her image, even though she already denied it. The only thing she did wrong is buying fake goods. I'm not even surprised at this point because in Asia, fake designer clothes are rampant. Do you think she would buy fake clothes and then say "oh they're fake." It's just common sense at this point. Influencers and even normal people would buy fake designer clothes to look good without breaking the bank (ex: it cost $4k for a channel tshirt/top). I have family members and friends in Asia that also bought/wear fake designer clothes. It's everywhere you go, even at a normal supermarket. Sure it's morally wrong/copyrights or whatever. The only difference is normal people wouldn't be called out and exposed. Jia is already reflecting on it. I don't think it's necessary to witch hunt and destroy her whole career

Most foreigners won't understand the seriousness of this issue because a large part of it also has to do with the Korean advertising law. If you follow K-media you would have noticed that almost all k-dramas and variety shows do not show branding either by using black tapes or blurred out in post production. Brands and logos are only shown when the show has received sponsorship from those brands and this is declared at the end.
I don't know the intricate details of the law behind this because I'm not a lawyer, but trust me it is a very sensitive issue and is taken very seriously to the point that there have been cases where very big Korean influencers had to close down their channels for simply failing to make proper declarations about sponsorship deals in their contents.

As I read the article release by dispatch it seems that most of the fake items are from the staff for her to wear in some photoshoot. People who did mistake should be corrected instead of treating them like criminals. She admitted it and apologize. I don't get it why people are still dragging her.

I've been following Freezia since back in 2019 and I loved her outgoing personality but really didn't expect this whole issue to come up, I don't know how to react.
About your question "Should influencers be 'made up' by agencies from the beginning", I think that they shouldn't because I watch influencers to see their raw self and not their made-up character, if they want to make up everything about themselves then there's no reason to watch them tbh but it's fine if important things aren't made up.

thanks grace for the informative video! the problem is that she knowingly and willingly purchased fake designer and tagged/mentioned the real designers in her insta and youtube posts. she also lied to all of her fans (pre-singles inferno) about how much she spent on her items for ex: $5k on a louis vuitton bracelet that she actually got for $50 on dghate. that’s the problem. she as an influencer was doing $10k designer hauls and lied throughout the whole video bc she wants to have a rich girl image that just isn’t her, but could’ve been if she wore fake clothes without lying about it or didn’t wear them in the first place! everyone defending her actions because they like her personality are weird. it’s okay to acknowledge that she did a bad thing without bullying, being mean, OR making excuses for her like she did nothing wrong.
