Just stumbled on your video and your words have really helped me, i'm 4 months in and have received both positive and negative comments about the look of my beard. I thought I was fairly self confident however the negative comments really affected me. I was very close to shaving it right back a week ago and luckily held off. Now i'm determined to stay the course and leave it alone till the 6 month mark and then see the barber for shaping. Like you said you cannot control what people think and I must admit I was very surprised to learn how opinionated people are about beards and not shy on letting you know what they think. One of the few good things about getting older, I think, is that you become much more self aware and confident in who you are, regardless of what other people think, or say. As I have gotten older, I also find myself appreciateing others for who they are, and being a lot less judgmental. Funny that as perfect as your beard looks, you still worry about the occasional stray hair. Good to know I'm not the only one. It sucks being a perfectionist!
Very happy to help! I'm pleased this got to you at the right time. Yea, it's one of the good things about getting older not to worrying (as much) about what others think. I think it'll be a forever journey to get to the "perfect beard" which is unattainable but a worthy goal!
My father gave me the equivalent of 9 dollars to shave my 1 month patchy beard off. I shaved it. 3 days later the beard was back.😁 patchy, with bakd spots on the cheeks,but back. I am applying garlic on the circular bald spots to see if it works. If it does i am going to update on your channel. I really like the positivity. Keep up the good work.
Got a 9 month run in 2018, had very little info on beardcare, looked like a brush. Did not survive 4 months in 2019. Now 4 months in with a backpack of knowladge 😎
I’m currently at 19 months (aiming for 3 years minimum) My beard is thick black curly and full but unfortunately I think the last 18 months has been my awkward stage 🙃

I’m like at a 3 month awkward stage. I feel like my beard is looking like the shape of bread some days and other days looks good lmao
Judgement from family and friends is what had me stop short in my beard growing process. Not a month had hit and I shaved it all off!

I found what help me was learning my family history and did the men of families have beards. Come to find out I’m lucky Viking blood 🩸 in me.
