That strumming-arpeggio thing in the beginning is quite astounding!

Many years ago, I brought a red Strat into Wildwood to have it serviced. The guitar had been donated to the church I worked at and we didn't know anything about it. A woman was just cleaning out her garage and didn't know what she had. She thought we could use it, so she donated it. The guitar tech cleaned it up and put new strings on it, made a couple of quick adjustments and then we plugged it into a Matchless amp. I played just a few notes and we looked at each other like, "Oh my god..." So he pulled a book out from somewhere and we looked up the serial number. Turns out it was an original 1965 Strat. And it was AMAZING. I also discovered it was worth a few thousand dollars!
A few weeks later, the same woman came to the church and mentioned she was having problems paying for a funeral, if I remember correctly. As I remember it, we gave the guitar back to her and said, "Take this to Wildwood Music. There is someone there who will buy it."
So, my question is.... is this THAT guitar?? I can't imagine there are too many vintage red '65 Strats that go through Wildwood. I was just looked for a video to share with a friend of mine about how great that guitar sounded. I told him the story, and then stumbled on this video. It would be incredible if this were the actual guitar I was talking about.

@@kaboom6157 Wow, that is incredible! It's such a wild story, and just fantastic the way it worked out. I still remember that day when we first plugged that guitar into that amp and heard it for the first time. I wish I'd had the money to buy it back then!

In many years of owning/buying/selling Strats, I'll confidently say that 63-66 Strats are the best ones. They had the best necks, and the general workmanship was highly perfected by then. They may not be the best looking (although who could object) compared to the earlier ones, but they were the best Strat guitars.

My 2018 Fender 60's original looks and sounds just like this guitar. I'm so happy with it, but I would trade it for this one any day.

I know people hate the small radius, but there is just something about higher action strats that make them sing.

Wow this one sounds very good. Sometimes I think that they sound all the same on these demos, but I could feel a difference in this one

Wow. I just clicked because I saw a new Strat video... didn't read the title. Right away my ears asked "what is this???" Alas, my powerball dreams have yet to come to fruition.

I played a 65 sunburst at a GC about 15 years ago. It sold for $6500 (and a 57 was going for $17K). Sounded great, and mojo for days, but my big hands couldn't get comfortable with the fingerboard radius. Strangely, this one looks a lot like my 61 Wildwood 10 relic with the CAR/mint green.

A true relic! Not that it was necessary...you had me at candy apple red, but no bridge demo?? That's always my favorite part when you break into something after jamming the switch into first gear!
