I could immediately hear the improvement in distortion and wasn’t surprised to find the BB preamp into a fender amp. I would often find myself looking for old wildwood videos(pre 2015) when the bb pre amp was the goto overdrive, for the glorious tones Mr. Koch would get out of it. The combo of the fender style amp and bb preamp simply brings out of the best of every guitar without saturating it too much. I’d suggest wildwood guitars to use this or similar kind of setup in every videos from now on.
Utsav Gurung shouldnt forget the fact that some guitars dont sound the best with the deluxe reverb. I quite like the setup for the last 2-3 years. Tone king is a glorious amp
Mert Akyol well, I never said anything about the deluxe reverb. He is using a vibrolux in this video and I much prefer it paired up with the bb preamp over the Friedman, and I’m more of a tweed/ Marshall guy myself. Friedman sounds fine on other RUclips videos but for some reason doesn’t seem to be working well with the folks in wildwood. Maybe it’s the mic placement or something but anyway, Greg got the best tones out of the tone king amps paired up with Bb preamp, in my opinion of course.
The Tone King and the Friedman have both been gone for a while, maybe a year. They have been using the Koch "The Greg" signature amp for the every day videos.
@@Mistershredd Thanks. I thought I'd slipped into a time loop or acid flashback. I could've sworn the BB vs Wasp In a Jar debate ended a couple of years back. The Greg amp has been smoking ever since. Maybe these are comments from a 2016 video that have moved through a wormhole.
VonBlade haven’t been following their videos since they switched to the Friedman. Just happened to find this video on my feed and was quite delighted by the tone again.
Hey I don’t know if you’re gonna watch this comment I mean do you remember me from the video of the pink telecaster with maple neck We were talking about if he was using the bb preamp or his signature amp and today he’s using the bb preamp and a vibrolux
I recently went to sweetwater (i would visit wildwood but i live in ohio) and was wanting a custom shop 50s style strat, ya know maple board 1 ply guard, and everything i played sounded great and looked great but man the necks were quite large and i dont really think they represent vintage necks well, i own a 1970 and 71 strat (i know they arent 50s i sold a car to get them ok) and there necks are way smaller and way more comfortable to play on, my hands were starting to hurt after about a half an hour playing the custom shop fenders my strats i can confidently gig with
@@wildwoodguitars Thanks, Paul! I know, I'm just being funny. I truly love these player-grade beauties: you get to enjoy their vintage goodness without worrying about damaging their original finishes and whatnot.
Large man. Makes that guitar look like a big ukulele.
...what about that beautiful almost 3-tone sunburst refinish, it makes it look even yummier.
Funkin' A! The perfect Strat, glassy but not shrill, clear but not cutting..... gimme, gimme.

I can tell it's Greg with my eyes closed now. He played one of my favorite riffs from the trio!
Goodness
Love the top end on this guy!
Sounds amazing on that vibrolux.
It's beautiful!!
Just amazing playing.... Should up the price now that Greg have played it.
I know,,,I've never seen a better guitar.....he is a guitar
Just the guitar!!
I could swear, I've already seen this one.
Man I have this feeling too, I think I’ve seen this video before
This was live a while back, we had to re-upload it due to a typo-o. Hope you enjoy! -PAUL
Great Tone Bro!!
mity nice pickin......
love the 'lux!
I prefer this amp and BB preamp. I like this setup more then the Greg amp.
I had '57 Strat 18609 (the one in the vid is 18449) which was gold plated, ash body. Traded a '68 ES-335 for it in 1976.

I wish I had huge mitts like Greg.
Ladies and Gentlemen…. Mr Greg Koch, the coolest 6 string slanger on the tube ….. 😎🤠

I just asked a store why are all the CS strat necks so huge?
What year was this 1957 Strat made?
It's the real deal! -PAUL

All 57 strats were made in 63, the 50’s are a myth made up by big tobacco to increase cigarette sales
at 2:58... goodness
If Greg Koch made an instructional video I would buy it. I need to know how he plays those hybrid runs
Uh he has many dvds out for at least almost 20 yrs.
@@Utube-s8m specifically for hybrid picking?
the trees in 1957 were just right . did you check pickup outputs ?
I didnt know they made mini strats in 57 ....:)
Anyone know what the asking price was for this - I think it’s sold now but would like to know
The control knobs lettering doesn't look like the correct font. It looks like the 70s font.
Hey Wildwood! Can you film a video of Greg playing that '67 Coronado you've got in the store?
I'll look for it when Greg returns to the shop -PAUL
I find myself holding my breath during the exposition. I wind up woozy.
Hot Damn snik wickles
That's the match to my Tele,
I'll take it!
So... it's pretty cheap then right?
🎸🎶🎵🤑👍
Oh yeah im the funky first! That guitar is sizzling hot, wonder if its cause of that pickups or that amp
both
This is a reupload 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Had a type-o in the original video -PAUL
$3500 i’ll take it
Never, never wash your left hand again ... the mojo is real!
Bitchin'
